PoliticsRe: Lagos Now Officially An Oil Producing State- Ambode by dawtune(m):

Nigeria and Ghana share the gulf of guinea, it is possible for every country on that coast to have oil.
it is the same reason Angola has oil offshore.
what has Ghana got to do with Badagry?
So now you believe there's oil in Lagos? After you were blindly arguing sometimes ago.. SMH. Let me correct you once more. The Gulf of Guinea has nothing to do with that. Simply put, Coastal Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Togo and Ghana share the same sedimentary basin, the Dahomey Basin. Deposition varies greatly in the gulfs, but slightly homogenous in basins.
RomanceRe: What's Your Take In Masturbation by dawtune(m): 9:58pm On Apr 12, 2016
Exhaustive Masturbation/ Over-masturbation in ladies has more Pros than Cons. The Cons are: 1.It causes skin irritation 2. It reduces clitoral sensitivity to the barest minimum. In so doing, the lady in question may not enjoy her sex life with a man as she should.

It has psychological effects as well 1. It basically causes Social seclusion/solitude, mental illness in few cases, lack of self confidence etc.

I hope this helps.

After paying huge amount of fees in private university, you expect them to come out with 2:2?? You must be joking, minimum in private university is 2:1. I have had an encounter with a first class student of one private university in Enugu who came for research project in my school, I was shocked when I realised that even our 2:2 classmates are better than her, she couldn't talk till she left.
You're very wrong. There are numerous 2:2, even third class and pass students in private Uni's.

If after going through those challenges of victimisation, u still come out with first class, then u must have been properly groomed to face other challenges. That is what a graduate is. Not the type that you treated like an egg because your parents are these or that. Create level playing grounds for graduates of both types in jobhunting and see if those ajebos will ever secure good jobs in this country. We know how they get job placements. So forget it.
Don't be naive sir, it's true there are challenges this and that in Public varsities, but never you say anything about a level playing ground of any sort. An intelligent Private Uni grad will any day compete well with his/her counterparts in Public Uni's. You seem to view situations with jaundiced eyes.

Claiming Covenant Uni is equal or superior to federal schools because they practicalised reverse engineering says a lot about how you argue and sally your points forth.

When I boldly stated that federal schools are better, did I say it's because they've produced someone's who's won a Nobel laureate as opposed to the private Unis?

Btw, Reverse Engineering: the reproduction of another manufacturer's
product following detailed examination of its
construction or composition.

Impressive. But nothing Unilorin can't replicate if they really want to.
I put forth my argument solely on achievements of Private Unis. A University can be ranked high based on achievements, staff strength, research work etc. See, until we get ourselves out of this ignorant thoughts and belief, we won't move forward as a nation. I laugh when people conclude without reasoning. A student's ability in school is vested in his perseverance, determination etc. It is so painful that public varsity lecturers have to cut down marks of students for inexplainable reasons. I have friends who are in Fed. Uni's and they complain bitterly about this. Is that a true reflection of a student's ability when a student is denied the rightful grade cos of insane lecturers?? NO.. Our Education system is dead. The basis of argument should be a permanent solution to this rot in education. Give it to the Private Uni's bro, you'll be given what you deserve. I had a senior, who after graduating from my school (Achievers Uni) with a 2:1, left for the UK for his masters and bagged a distinction. What do you make of that?..

I'll respond to your claims on webometrics in your other "mention".

No, no Unilorin student, to the best of my knowledge, has invented a car. The only person that "invented" a car was Henry Ford. One can only invent something once and that person becomes the pioneer.

Btw, a student of BUK(Bayero University, Kano) designed and constructed a helicopter several years ago. You can wake me up when covenant university comes close.
Ever heard of Reverse Engineering? I can't even waste my energy to school you on that. You can google it. Covenant Uni is the first Uni in Africa to do practical work on Reverse Engineering. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/coscharis-boosts-covenant-university-reverse-engineering-solution/

I'm not saying they're dullards, I'm saying first class comes cheap to them.

An overwhelming majority wouldn't graduate with that first class degree in a federal university because the standard is higher here.
It is not the high standard in the Federal varsities, it is the decay in their standard of education.
EducationRe: Proliferation Of First Class Degrees In Private Varsities The PUNCH by dawtune(m): 1:46pm On Apr 08, 2016
It is so disheartening when I see posts like this. Public varsities are not conducive for learning, coupled with harsh lecturers who believe A's are not worth having. Same can't be said of Private universities, where you're given what you deserve. The class size is great, good research laboratories, conductive environment for learning etc.
I am in the process of being a product of a private uni and i am very well at par with my fellows in public varsities.

The sirte basin in libya produces oil and gas although it is basement rock.
Nah nah, it is mainly a sedimentary basin, which borders a basement rock. The basement rock which produces oil is a fractured basement rock. Geologically, oil cannot be found in Basement rocks except when there's a fracture in it. It can be likened to groundwater in basement rocks. Basement are not porous and permeable, so they cannot retain oil, gas and water, except if they are fractured. There are examples of them all around the world(fractured basement, reservoirs).

MrPresident1:
The price of a barrel of oil is now $28, the cost of production of one barrel is about $20, there is a differential of about $8. Assuming Nigeria produces and is able to sell 2m barrels per day, we have 16million dollars per day as revenue. There are 170 million of us, which means theoretically each of us will get (16,000,000/170,000,000) = 0.094 dollars for each person.

0.094*305= N28.67 for every Nigerian/day.

This of course is very rudimentary economics, the aim nonetheless is to show the dire straits that will be driven home to Nigerians shortly.

Nigeria you have no idea what is staring you in the face!

grin
I agree a bit with your differentials, but I must stress that it is even more crazier than your calculation. The cost of production varies, depending on the geology of the environment. The deepwater(deep offshore)cost of production is close to $26, some are even up to $30, shallow-water and onshore averages between $15 to $20.

You are right in some of the points you raised; like failure of past leaders to invest in infrastructures and Agric during the oil boom, oil will always remain relevant till the next century so more is needed to shore up the reserves. Exploration should also be carried out in States like Osun and Ogun
Ogun, yes but in Osun, the state is completely of Crystalline rocks(Igneous and Metamorphic), which makes it impossible to find oil. Sedimentary environments/basins is where the oil is.

BusinessFirst Oil From Aje Field, Offshore Lagos Expected in January 2016. by dawtune(op): 10:00pm On Oct 19, 2015
Panoro Energy ASA, the independent E&P company with assets in Nigeria and Gabon, is pleased to provide the following operations and corporate update.

The Aje-5 production well located on the OML 113 license, offshore Nigeria, has been successfully completed and the reservoir has been perforated in the Upper and Lower Cenomanian Oil bearing zones. The subsea tree has been installed and the well has been suspended ready for connection to the oil production facilities prior to commencement of production. The Saipem Scarabeo 3 semi-submersible drilling rig has been moved to re-enter the existing Aje-4 well for completion as a second Cenomanian production well.

All key equipment related to the Aje oilfield development has now been delivered to Lagos, including the FPSO moorings and turret buoy, the production manifold, the umbilical termination assembly, and the umbilicals and flowlines. In addition, the ongoing refurbishment of the Front Puffin FSPO is on schedule and it is anticipated that the vessel will sail from Singapore approximately six weeks prior to its installation date. Panoro currently estimates the project timing and costs to be largely on track, although for planning purposes, the Company is now projecting that first oil should take place towards the end of January 2016.

Finally, the Company also announces that Nishant Dighe will depart from his position as Panoro’s President and Chief Operating Officer, effective 30 November, 2015. Mr. Dighe will continue as an advisor to Panoro for a transitional period. Mr. Julien Balkany, Chairman of the Board said, “On behalf of the Company and the Board of Directors we express our sincere appreciation to Nish for his dedication, valuable contribution, and hard work over the years. Nish has played a key role in the establishment, growth and transformation of the Company. We wish him the very best in his future endeavours.” Source: http://Panoro Energy ASA, the independent E&P company with assets in Nigeria and Gabon, is pleased to provide the following operations and corporate update.

I will give you only one of the things Iphone does and when you get another phone that does that you can come back for the second lesson.

I once stood at the front desk of Etisalat experience center at Allen avenue with my iPhone 5. Their service was horribly slow so typed a text on my phone which reads "YOUR SERVICE IS TOO SLOW", copied and paste to fill the whole page and then sent about 10copies to their printer that was on the Wifi. I was being attended to when one of their staffs came with the printouts to ask his colleagues who sent the printout. I actually went there to buy an Nano sim (iphone being the first phone to use it).

In my Office in Ikeja GRA then, our office was using a duplex building. Instead of climbing the stairs with my Laptop to connect to the printer stationed upstairs before printing a 300page proposal sent to me for printing, I will access my mail on my Iphone and send the document to the printer's WiFi while doing other things on my laptop without leaving my desk until after some minutes that I believe the documents must have been printed completely.

When you get another phone that does something similar, come for a second class.
pls enlighten them the more.

You can say that again. Iphone is purely rubbish. I'm glued to BlackBerry, anyway. I do a lot with my BlackBerry. It's my mobile office, intimate companion and my Internet dongle. I do millions of Naira worth of business with it annually. I receive and send a lot of emails daily via my BlackBerry. With the hotspot, I always stay connected to my laptop and browse endlessly. I share files seamlessly too. Iphone cannot give me all these benefits. I don't BBM, except when I'm less busy and idle.
try the personal hotstop on iPhone and thank me later.

iOS is one operating system that is very sophisticated. There is hardly any application that is not on the iOS platform. The Games are of the best. iPhone has one of the most interesting browsers, the Safari. With my Siri, i can do some little search. The iPhone offers comfortability and ease. The iCloud is dope, you can off Gigabytes to store your data in a fascinating way. I could remember while I was preparing for my Geology field work, we needed a GPS to use, all I needed to do was to download a GPS cum compass which did all we wanted on the field, including my pacing, strike and dip etc, while my Android-user friends couldn't get a working digital compass on the Android Store. Y'all should better be apprised of the way things are trending and evolving. iOS is dope!
