RomanceRe: Things People Do In The Name Of Love! by dayleke: 2:30am On Jun 13, 2010
Osama,look at the example i just gave,
don't you think if we go and ask the naija wife now what she was thinking then,won't she say everything's for the best?
At least she is now a resident over "there".
RomanceRe: Things People Do In The Name Of Love! by dayleke: 2:06am On Jun 13, 2010
Does the end justify the means?that's what you should be asking these pple who practise the above examples,
I know of a guy who resides in oyibo land(mind you,already married to a naija girl in naija),brought the white woman to naija because the stay requirements demand it, with the naija wife staying away and playing the role of a relative,
The "away" couple went back,separated,naija guy had a baby with another white girl after 2 kids in naija(with naija wife),
To cut a long story short,naija wife+2 kids are with naija guy now in oyibo land as a happy family, ,life goes on.
Now u go and ask naija wife how she feels, ,the crazy things people do for love sha. shocked
FamilyRe: Should The Man Bear The Whole Financial Expenses In The House? by dayleke: 3:55am On Feb 08, 2010
If it can be done,there's nothing wrong with it(ie the man bearing the "WHOLE" thingy) but the environment is also a deciding factor.Where we are based,everybody cannot be a nurse or a doctor and if living within your means means that my wife and i have to operate a FULL joint account(direct deposit),well so be it.
If there is love then understanding matters.Helping out one's mate is not an option.Are there particular chores meant for men and women?maybe, but that doesn't excuse the other partner from shying away from responsibilities.
As a man,i get my kids ready for school(this include bathing,making sure they are properly dressed and making sure they eat after preparing their meals) and walking them to the bus-stop to go to school in the mornings that their mom worked overnite and this after going going to pick them up from my sister's place at 6am.
Am not trying to bore y'all with my life history but what i'm saying is where there is love and understanding it's all possible. It doesn't make one less of a man to cook for the family if the woman of the house is at work and also to vacuum and do laundry.
I know am gonna get it hard for this.

@ benard08
Thank you for the compliment and also keep up the good work too.
As for ur question,
the new members can start off by setting up different panels to overlook the changes in our profession,two(2) of which i think need immediate attention;
1. Regulation of private labs. establishment -- some yrs back,anybody can set up a lab. as long as they have the capital.There were a lot of mushroom labs. in lagos then(lab. technicians(no offence meant) and even pple who weren't in the profession were setting up labs,they were paying the MTs to work in the labs. then.)
2.Image of the profession-- A lot of seminars and workshops shld be organized to bring the public's awareness to the profession.Bringing a lot of learned persons in the profession from both home and abroad to talk on topics that both techs. and the public can benefit from.
These kind of seminars and workshops can also be made into continuing education(CE) classes for the MTs and have them completing/having a number of credits by the end of the year,this will encourage them to attend these events and in addition to annual membership dues,the classes/credits must be another requirement to
renewing one's license.

@ bernard08,
do you know Mr S.K Babatunde in the teaching hospital in ilorin over there?

Hi reindeer,
to the best of my knowledge,the K(potassium)-EDTA is good if not the best for CBC.In the states,it is widely used and referred to as 'lavender top'
or 'purple top'.
As for the Na-F, that could have been added as a preservative and may be affecting hematocrit result.
maybe somebody else in the house can throw more light on that.

@bernard08,victor2009 et al,
sorry,have been awol for a while,it's just the work factor.
have been trying to follow the forum to the best of my ability.
as per the electricity issue,my own 1kobo is that any nation wanting to advance both in technology or otherwise needs to have a stable supply of electricity,without it,it's gonna be 1 problem after the order.the generator should be a backup plan and not the main appliance.
i am looking forward to that great day when there wouldn't be curses thrown at the power company in naija again.

@chynenye,
thanx!it's really a reunion.you can never imagine the longest time i've seen or heard from these guys,they were ahead of me when we were in school of med.lab. and despite that they took us younger ones under their wings then.
where in naija r u practicing?

@Victor2009,
Easyman,it was nice hearing from u at long last.
last time i saw u was when i was still working @ fountain labs. for agege b4 my service(long time ago),how's d family now?i dey outside naija and so also a whole bunch of ex-students of smls ife.hit me at paracoli44@hotmail.com or dayleke@yahoo.com.

@segunatuu,
na wa for una o.
is it not that plaza that u see when u going on the bridge to the airport?
shall definitely call u,but i shall send a text 1st.

@uyimen,
don't despair,the journey of a thousand yrs starts with the first step.
when i went into the program some yrs back,only 2 or 3 universities were offering the program at BSc level and some pple used to make fun of us back then that we were not in a proper university but some of those pple still came back for their intership program at the teaching hospitals then to get their assoc. membership of the inst.
the program has gotten a face-lift now and it has come a long way from what i hear from pple unlike back in the days.like segunatuu said,if u really love the profession,those yrs shouldn't bother u.Good luck.
