It was a lovely game, UP RAVENS!!!!!!! Took me only 20mins to get to work instead of the usual 45mins, the roads were deserted because the whole of Baltimore was inside watching the game |
I pray and hope it doesn't turn out to be as bad as predicted. I live in Maryland, schools are closed for the kids for today and they just announced tomorrow's closure too. The job is asking all later shifts to come in earlier and be prepared to work extra shifts... Hurricane Sandy don put "sand" for that thing o.... |
A lot of marriages have collapsed because of finances, pls OP,do not be part of the statistics. Yes the mentality we had while growing up is that the man is the "bread-winner" of the home but with today's economy and what not,the average family will have to have all hands on deck. What works for family "A" might not necessarily work for family"B".You should both look at your incomes and determine what is the best for the family. Also the location/environment plays a factor too.Personally,my wife and I have a joint acct. where the salaries go.All the bills are paid from here and the household groceries and everything else.It is also from this joint acct. that we allocate our individual pocket money/allowance for that pay period.Whatever you wish to do with your money is your business but she still get pampered too as the woman of the house occassinally. We live in the states and times are hard over here too. When she goes to work,i'm at home with the kids and vice-versa,I bathe, dress and feed the kids and make sure that they are at the bus stop in the morning to meet the bus and go to school. There is no shame in the man of the house doing house chores.I do dishes, cut the grass, clean up the house etc. I'm not trying to toot my own horn but after reading some of the responses over here,I decided to put in my own 2cents. Where we live right now,if a woman wants to keep all her earnings and let the man take over the responsibility 100%,they will soon be living on the street or in a homeless shelter. Let both parties appreciate each other and look at what they want in the future for themselves and for the kids.No marriage is perfect but when it comes to finances, one has to be careful. If the extended families come in,then it's another wahala because then they will be pointing acusing fingers and be saying because of so and so that is why we are not being taken care of,that is if one party is the only one spending. Just my 2cents. |
@ joeydozzy Na wa for your guy in NY that has four phones o,I'm quite sure he doesn't carry all four with him in this country. I recently came back from naija and took the phone I used back home in naija to work to copy some nos onto my regular phone here and you should have seen the reactions of my co-workers at the sight of two phones in my possession,I had to explain what I was up to,though it's none of their biz. |
sorry, don't know how to post d link to d topic but if anybody knows, pls try and do that.... ![]() |
@ d names of cars in naija, more than four(4) years ago i created the topic below and asked a very simple question on this forum but i didn't really get a concrete answer from any body and then the names were simple but funny and it's getting funnier by the day. I hope by 2020 there will still be enough names under the sun for cars being driven in Nigeria....lol ![]() [quote author=dayleke]Can somebody please tell me who are the members of panel or the authoritative body that sits and give these pseudonyms to different cars in nigeria? eg Hondas - halla, baby boy, bullet, end of discussion etc |
kritikul:Did you read my reply above? What kind of mentality is that, that only doctors can go to work in a less than friendly weather? The last snowstorm that swept Baltimore,i spent 2days on the job without going home after getting picked up to go to work by a good Samaritan from the job. In those 2 days, there were housekeepers, cooks, nurses, doctors and what have you, hanging out together when not working and don't forget yours truly, med. tech. ![]() |
Goksyde:yea man,i had to go since i was scheduled already for this weekend, but all glory to the Lord that i was able to see another day. A lot of houses in my neighborhood are without power but we still got ours. and dude,"No i'm not a doctor,i'm a medical technologist(lab.) but you know what?, even if you be "yellow fever"(traffic warden) and you need to pay your bills, you gotta go to work.lol (no pun intended for using naija yellow fever for an example,it's just to show that you have to report to work under any circumstance) |
Was difficult getting to work this morning but thank the good Lord i made it. A lot of call-outs. The rain has subsided but it is very windy in the Baltimore area right now. |
Definitely the day after Thanksgiving aka "Black Friday",enjoy now. |
If in Nigeria,we just have to improve on the ones that we have. When i was in naija in the 90s,there were labs. at almost every corner of Lagos then with no regulation or whatnot,i don't know how it is nowadays but establishment of diag. labs. needs to be monitored and a standard set. just my 2 cents. |
Where? In Nigeria or in the whole world? |
True otitor. Am also in the same category, haven't made any contribution for a while. Hello to everybody once again. |
NB ^^^^ Am not a physician/Doctor o!!! Lab. Tech/Scientists Rule!!!! ![]() |
One thing that i personally suspect that can bring metallic taste to the mouth is mercury poisoning, has your friend been exposed to mercury?she should have to see a specialist and go for some diagnostic testings. Good luck |
"If a woman truly loves a man, she cant stand the thought of her man being shared with another woman" Exactly my thoughts ogzille |

@hbabe, it's something else to imagine ur mate being with somebody else but for it to be done practically before your eyes and also to see the product of the affair, that is taking it too far or what do you think? |
@Osama10, maybe ITgurlie is right, she might not have had any other choice. |
