Seventeen members of the terrorist group, Boko Haram, were killed on Wednesday afternoon by a youth vigilance group in Lahou village in Borno State. Speaking with our correspondent from the village, the leader of the youth vigilance group in the council, Apagu Bitrus, said the terrorists attacked Lahou at about 4pm on Wednesday but were overpowered. Lahou is close to Ngulde in Askira-Uba Local Government Area, which is about 70 kilometres to Biu, the commercial centre of the south of Borno State. Apagu added, “We slew 17 militants on Wednesday evening when they invaded Lahou village and equally seized two vehicles from them.” He stated that the attackers were teenagers, whose ages he believed ranged from 12 to 17 years. Apagu said, “I can confidently tell you that when we took the battle to them, some of them fled but we are going to bury those who were killed this morning (Thursday).” He, however, lamented that a member of the youth vigilance group, who was a former councilor in the local government was killed by the terrorists in the attack. http://www.punchng.com/news/borno-vigilance-group-kills-17-boko-haram-fighters/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterCc : Lalasticala ishilove |

databoy247: I usually don't like commenting on things like this, but from what i have seen so far, i have no option than to comment.
A lot of you out there are either graduates or undergrads looking or should i say desperately searching for jobs. You don't even have to wits to start something, all you do is announce your "idea" which unfortunately lacks funding. Someone posts a job offer, if you are not interested in the job, what stops you from moving on to other threads or better still move on to jobberman website in search for Chevron vacancy?
Must you always trash someone else's efforts?? And what if it is GNLD? Are there no people working with the same gnld and making money? Feeding themselves? The ones that rant here are those that cannot even afford to buy garri but depend on their parents, uncles and aunties for things as small as recharge cards.
You spend you energy talking people down and yet those people you talk down are busy making money, becoming employers of labor.
What on earth is wrong with 20k salary?? If you are looking for a job that will pay you 500k per month, then good luck with your search. But believe me when you hear some people have been waiting for 10 years after graduation without a job, it is really true. And if you are not careful, you might end up like one (am not praying this for you though). If you don't have the patience and courage to start from scratch, then you are on a long thing.
The OP has explained that it is an IT company, what else do you want him to tell you? Do you want him to "beg" you to do the job? I did a few research and it turned out that they are all about mobile apps distribution. And for your information these guys build wordpress themes to sell. And whether you like it or not, they are making their money while you are there ranting and saying trash.
Below is a screenshot of one of their wordpress theme on sale in themeforest. It is being sold for $48 and over 300 copies have been sold! From raw estimates, that should translate to over N2,800,000 (over 2 million naira). And that is for just ONE theme. Because i believe they have close to 10 on sales.
You are looking at a small tech business with over 10 million naira in sales offering you a job and you are ranting "gnld". The fact that they don't crave cheap publicity here in nairaland does not mean you know them enough to rate and judge them.
So, if you are interested in working, do the needful. If you are not, please move on to other threads. The OP has the right to say or post whatever he wants.
PS: I am in no way affiliated to the OP or his company, i am just a pissed off nairalander angry with the so-called job seekers criticizing other people's efforts. Adieu. well said bro |

Politics › Obasanjo Does Not Have Half Of Soyinka’s Intelligence – Adebanjo by dayo23(op): 10:39am On Aug 12, 2015 |
The verbal attacks on former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, over his comment about late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, continued yesterday as Afenifere chieftain, Chief Ayo Adebanjo called him, “a man suffering from intellectual inferiority.” Obasanjo had stated that Awolowo was never the leader of the Yoruba but was only elected leader by his loyalists. The former leader, also in his three-volume autobiography, My Watch, labelled Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, a wine expertise with little knowledge in political analysis. Reacting, Adebanjo told Daily Independent that it was sad that the former president made such comments. The elder statesman agreed with former governor of Ogun state, Olusegun Osoba, that nobody is good in Obasanjo’s eyes and that he criticises everyone. He said “As for Obasanjo, Nigeria began when he became president. He does not believe anybody did anything better before or after. “Have you heard Obasanjo praising any leader before independence till this present day? Is there any leader who became president before and after him that he has not condemned? What kind of a character is that?” “Nobody is perfect. When people talk about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in America today, it is not as if they don’t have their defects but the Americans choose to highlight their positive sides. That is not Obasanjo. He said negative things about Wole Soyinka who did us proud in the literary world”. “Nobody said Soyinka is perfect. But the only thing Obasanjo can say about him is that he is a better connoisseur of wine. Has he got half of the intelligence of Soyinka? It is clear he is suffering from intellectual inferiority”. Insisting that Awolowo emerged as Yoruba leader, Adebanjo said his election was remarkable as he was elected despite not holding any public office. “What is significant in Awolowo’s election is that he was not in government when he was elected as is being paraded now by some people today that because people won election, therefore they automatically become the leader of the Yoruba . There was no election and he was not in government.” http://dailypost.ng/2015/08/12/obasanjo-does-not-have-half-of-soyinkas-intelligence-adebanjo/ |

Zedddd: The Majority of Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has replied the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, over his admission that he worked for the emergence of the current Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, against his bid for the office. Messrs Dogara and Gbajabiamila jostled for the position of Speaker of the 8th Assembly, which the former won despite stiff opposition from the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s power brokers. Mr. Tambuwal, who is the immediate past Speaker, said on Sunday that although he had strong affinity with Mr. Gbajabiamila, he, alongside seven other principal officers of the last Assembly, opted for Mr. Dogara. Mr. Gbajabiamila’s response was contained in a short message to our correspondent after his reaction was sought. “Alhaji Tambuwal has spoken,” he said. “For me I have moved on and I can only wish him the best in his future undertakings. I guess Alhaji Tambuwal has finally spoken.” Many had expected Mr. Tambuwal to support Mr. Gbajabiamila’s bid given the Lagos lawmaker’s role in his emergence as Speaker of the 7th Assembly. But ironically, he supported Mr. Dogara who opposed his ambition to become Speaker in 2011. Representative Aliyu Madaki, a staunch supporter of Mr. Gbajabiamila, said it was surprising that Mr. Tambuwal could publicly oppose the Lagos lawmaker. Mr. Tambuwal had spoken about his role in the emergence of Mr. Dogara when leaders of Sayawa Community of Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas of Bauchi State paid him a “thank you” visit to show appreciation to him for supporting their kinsman to become speaker. He had said, “The survival of the legislature as an important arm of government made it imperative that competent hands are headhunted to be its leaders. “Eight out of ten members of the Body of Principal Officers in the last Assembly supported Dogara’s aspiration,” he said. “Only Hon Femi (Gbajabiamila) and Hon Datti Ahmad supported Femi. “I have strong affinity with Hon Femi. He was closer to me than Dogara. But when talking about leadership and collective decisions, sentiments have to be put aside. I’m not here to tell you that my support made Dogara the Speaker, no. Two things made Dogara to become the Speaker, one is God and two, Dogara’s competence.” He continued, “The acknowledgement of Dogara’s competence did not start with me. It started from the time of Hon Patricia and Etteh and Hon Dimeji Bankole when they entrusted him with a sensitive position of the Chairman of House Services Committee. “The committee is one of the most sensitive in the legislature. Apart from taking care of the welfare of members, the committee oversees all procurement processes. As the Speaker, I only did what my predecessors did by giving Dogara this sensitive position. “No person, as far as I know, has ever served as chairman of the House Services committee in two dispensations. Dogara broke that jinx. All through my tenure, I brought Dogara close to me because I found in him a person who is competent, accommodating, and with capacity to lead. “Anyone doubting Dogara’s ability to lead, should ask members of the 7th Assembly how he handled their matter. So we supported Dogara not for any reason but because he was competent to deliver on any task given to him.” www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/188234-gbajabiamila-replies-tambuwal-says-ive-moved-on.html @The bolded : Simple, well articulated, and very Mature response from Hon. Gbajabiamila #Respect |
