I don't see anything wrong in our leaders and people in authority to embark on spiritual journeys like this. It is a moment to seek the face of Allah and also pray ask Allah to guide them. I think we should also join them in our own capacity to pray that Allah grants them wisdom to further govern our dear state. Mashallah!

I want to assume you have not been to Ilorin lately and you have not seen the present population of people in Kwara State. The Governor should be commended for the laudable initiative he has put in place to tackle transportation crisis in the city and the state. I want to believe you have not been to Unilorin Bus Terminus at Tanke when students are on a long queue to board a bus, also you should check out how students and staff of the university cluster on the roadside when headed to the university. With the provision of these buses, which Unilorin-Tanke is one of its routes, i believe it is good news for students, staff and visitors to the University.
You should also note that the Transit Scheme is in partnership with NURTW, so there will be balance in the running of the scheme and would not affect others in the transportation business.
The population of Ilorin has increased drastically over the past few years, and it is only wise to provide means to create a solution for transportion problems at the moment and in the future.

I will like to say putting up this kind of write up is mischievous. First of all the pictures the write has used are not in any way liked to Kwaran and i believe the writer has just downloaded pictures online to support his/her claim. It is also worthy of note that Kwara, unlike many states is one of the states that is not owing its workers salaries or pension, so i think we should commend the state government that has been able to pull this off in this era of recession.

Not true..... I think our journalist should do proper investigations before making information public. How can they justify the figure quoted here? Are there medical reports to justify deaths of pensioners in the state? We should be more realistic and stop practicing lazy journalism just for cheap publicity and popularity.

Nice write up. As regards the road, i am aware the state government is working on rehabilitating and constructing new roads in both rural and urban areas of the state. Presently roads in offa are being rehabilitated, and I strongly believe other roads you have mentioned will be treated as well. Well done!

That's why you should share your ideas with the state government on how you think IGR can be improved. Take actions and not just make comments on social media that won't bring any improvement. Thanks

This is a great improvement compared to the meager revenue that used to be generated. This is a sign that some leakages have been blocked and i do hope KW-IRS keeps up the good work.

As part of its impactive economic growth policy, the Kwara State Government is to generate 20,000 agro-related jobs annually aimed at eradicating poverty and creating wealth, especially among youths.

The Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed said this when participants of course 38 of National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru, Plateau State on local study tour of Kwara State paid a courtesy call on him at the Government House, Ilorin.

Dr Ahmed stated that the state government has identified agriculture as one of the keys of economic prosperity as it could improve the lives of the people tangibly.

According to the governor, about 50,000 Small Medium Enterprises have been empowered, adding that another N2billion would be injected into the scheme in the next three years with priority on youths and women beneficiaries.

“Our determination is to generate a successor-generation of commercial farmers driven by an entrepreneurial mindset for job and wealth creation”, the governor explained.

Dr Ahmed expressed concern that challenge of poverty has remained a dominant issue in Nigeria as the 2015 Human Development Index ranked Nigeria “152 out of 188 countries in 2014.

The leader of the NIPSS team, Brigadier General Daniel Chinoko said the team which is Group 6 of the course are in the state to under study the state government's poverty reduction programmes and policies.

Brigadier General Chinoko who said the theme of course 38 is “strengthening institutional mechanism for poverty reduction and inclusive governance”, promised that the team’s report would be unbiased.

It is pertinent to know that the administration of Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed has immense concern for the populace, hence part of the reasons for the proposed N20b Bond to execute infrastructural projects in the state. The State Government has also announced its intention to renovate the Oro General Hospital in question alongside a few other cottage hospitals in the state.
