ogaemma: Wrong overtaking is a Traffic offense, according to the Federal Highway Code.
However, instead of the Army brutality, they should have handed the man over to the police since it was somewhat a civil offense. So where in the story did you see that it was a wrong overtaking? Abi, is every overtaking a wrong overtaking? |

Bobloco: Looking forward to the day when Reno Omokri will be accommodated.
He has worked so hard for it; in fact, he has praised the Yoruba tribe to such an extent that you begin to wonder whether he is actually Yoruba. He has also spread lies, falsehoods, and propaganda against Peter Obi, Obidients, and the Igbo tribe, which have seemingly earned him a prestigious position in Tinubu's propaganda media team. These are the qualities one needs to be appointed to Tinubu's propaganda media team, no other qualities are required.
I believe Reno Omokri has those qualities. Once we get to December 2026, election will be 3 months away And FFK will be appointed as special adviser on abusing people.. That's his specialty. |

sirpharrell: No matter how clear it may look, only the legally recognised speaker or the courts can declare their seats vacant. None of that has been done yet. And that's the reason why they are dragging the case. On that defection issue if the odds were against Fubara that Abuja judiciary would have given judgement since. They know those lawmakers have defected esp with the affidavit part, they know.. That's what the matter has not been judged. They know why they are delaying. |

sirpharrell: So who is constitutionally empowered to determine if truly there is division in their party at the national level? Is it not the courts? Until the courts say otherwise, are they not still lawmakers? I wonder hoe people think their own interprettion of the constitution is superior to the interpretation of the courts. YES the courts. But the Supreme Court has defined what a division means. There must be two National Chairmen. There must be two National Secretaries. There must be two National offices or secretariats.. The Rivers State matter is very clear. But typical of the black man especially the Nigerian,, Dishonesty and dubiousness runs in their veins |
Politics › Re: Rivers Crisis: Edwin Clark Writes CJN, IGP by ddippset(m): 8:59am On Nov 18, 2024 |
sirpharrell: It is people like this Elder Edwin Clark that are misleading Governor Fubara. Where in the constitution did it state that members will IMMEDIATELY AND AUTOMATICALLY lose their seat if they defected to another political party?
Are the Rivers lawmakers the first people to defect in this country? I expected him to mention just one example of a lawmaker that immediately and automatically lose his seat upon defection. Even after the Rivers lawmakers, several lawmakers have defected in this country. Which of them lost their seat IMMEDIATELY AND AUTOMATICALLY?
This is where Governor Fubara shot himself in the foot. As long as no court of competent jurisdiction has declared their seats vacant, those guys are still members of the Rivers State House of Assembly. The failure to recognise this fact is what has led the Governor to make so many mistakes in breach of the constitution. Surely the constitution says they AUTOMATICALLY lose their seats but it doesn't say anyone is permitted to take the law into their hands to effect this provision. It is the speaker who must declare the seats vacant but where the speaker fails to do that, the Judiciary must come in, to declare the seats vacant.. As long as there was no division at the National level, they must lose their seats, No TECHNICALITIES should apply Here! Now that the case has gotten to the courts, directly or indirectly, any judge adjudicating on any issue directly or indirectly related to the matter if the 27 lawmakers must declare their seats vacant. |

mrvitalis: 18 months is enough to see improvements tho if you are doing the right thing
Or at least stop the decay instead it's getting worse
APC economic fundamentals are wrong, have been wrong since 2015 the results are there
Borrowing money to build infrastructure with the hope it would kick start the economy have never worked anywhere
Has no principles of economics backing it except you want to invent one... So it's bound to fail
Buhari did it and failed
Aregbe did it in osun failed
El rufai has wrecked Kaduna financially by doing fine roads yet their economy is dead
Wike, umiah, akpabio did it at least not with borrowed money and failed
Donald Duke did it and failed
Yet we are bent on doing the same rubbish over and over again and we expect different results? My brother, around here infrastructure does not kickstart any economy. Infrastructure is only the easiest way to steal money in Nigeria. Infrastructure can only kickstart economy in a highly highly production driven economy. |

4words: I agree with you. however, if he files an appeal and there is no stay of execution then he has to obey the last judgement either convenient or not. That's what I am trying to say. If the judiciary is not in someone's pocket, There should be a stay of execution. |

The solution to the entire problems in Rivers State is for the Supreme Court to deliver judgement on the status of the 25 lawmakers..
That singular judgement will put everything to rest and everyone will know their fate.
Rivers state is in crisis and in any decent society, the judgement should take more than a month or 2 because of the urgency.
Why are the Courts foot dragging in this particular case of the 25 lawmakers? |

4words: How come no one is asking Fubara to obey court judgement for the betterment of his state. Why are we shouting on the executive and telling executive to interfere with judiciary?
Only us will complain that the executive is interfering with the judiciary, still only us want the executive to interfere with judiciary What exactly do we want.
What Clark should be talking about is telling the judiciary to hasten up with their final judgement and also let the legislative do their job.
We can not alway be shout executive when we are ment to have 3 independent arm of government
Think. But he still feels Martin Amaehule is not the right speaker and he has exercised his democratic right of Appeal. He has legally filed an Appeal to that judgement. What if he goes ahead to present the budget to the Martin Amaehule assembly and the final court tomorrow rules that Martin Amaehule is not the authentic speaker? Will they cancel the budget again and ask him to goan present it to another speaker? If we are to be fair and the judiciary is not in someone's pocket like has been alleged, the Supreme Court is supposed to make final rulings on all the Rivers cases before execution of anything. |
