In my opinion Tecno and Infinix produces good phones nowadays but they are too expensive when you compare with other brands. Take for example infinix smart 4, it has only 16/1 storage for 30k then compare it with Nokia 2.2 with 16/2 storage for the same 30k, so OP was right not that the smart 4 is bad but it does not give value for money.

Exactly my point, assuming infinix and tecno phones are not more than 20k, then i agree they are for low end buyers

Everybody has what appeals to them. Tecno might not appeal to you but it does to alot if people besides, if they don't create premium product is cos there market isn't targeted towards them. Its for the mass market.

What you are saying is the problem we have with some people, they have a vey very poor sense of quality, for example, if you tell people living on the waterside of lagos like aworonshoki etc to relocate to VI and lekki for free, many of them won't agree. Babangida did that with the gwaris of abuja in the early 90s when the capital moved from lagos to abuja, he built houses to relocate them from the city centre but they refused to move but prefared their huts

The people shouting huawei and co what investment do they have. They will spend their savings to buy phone n in few months time they will want to sell it here on nairaland.

Assuming infinix s5 is 20k and infinix note 6 is 18k and etc, then i will agree with you, but selling rubbish for their current price is nonsense, there are cheaper alternatives most especially nokia

Transsion has solidify it's presence in the lower market, they've strived so hard to gain top of mind in the minds of average Nigerians whenever they think about getting an affordable phone. So Samsung et al has lots of work to do if they are gonna pose a threat. Forget wetin all this nairaland TECNO haters de form.

Correction here, not average Nigerians but below average nigerians.. those ones that have no good sense of quality, if Samsung and xiaomi is expensive, there is nokia, if nokia is expensive, there is umidigi. Umidigi is even reviewed in uk, germany and some European countries, for umidigi to sell their phones in these countries tells you the quality. Transsion will never set foot in Europe because they make their phones for below average and poor quality minded people in countries without customer protection and quality enforcement.

One of my colleagues today wan almost go back to Abuja to return his Tecno phone 2/16 bought 26k when he saw a friend that bought my Redmi 6 (3/32) for 25k. You'll see the disappointment and the feeling of being cheated all written over him.

Too bad, but he has learnt his lesson. I see one new Nokia 2.3 and redmi 8, they are cheap and far better than infinix s5, hot 8 and note 6 combine
