Health › Re: See The Colour Of The Water In Some Waterways In Yaba, Lagos (photos) by ddjay: 11:14am On Aug 14, 2018
autojosh:
One of the most beautiful sights to behold is that of waterfronts and canals. From the Canals in Venice, Italy to the rivers in some of our villages, they always make us feel good when we see them.

However, same thing can’t be said about these waterways Autojosh.com spotted in Yaba area of Lagos. These pictures were specifically taken in Makoko-Iwaya area in Yaba. This is a low-income community where a large number of the residents live on water. Very dirty water!

Makoko is made up of 6 separated villages. They are all spread across land and water. These villages are Oko Agbon, Adogbo, Migbewhe, Yanshiwhe, Sogunro and Apollo. The first four are the floating communities, known as Makoko waterfront; the rest are based on land.

A third of the shelters in Makoko is built on stilts along the lagoon and the rest is on the land.

This waterfront part of the community is largely harboured by the Egun people who migrated from Badagry and Republic of Benin and whose main occupation is fishing

Makoko has a population estimated to be 250,000.

Residents there commute within and around the community via small fishing boats. For instance, these, boats will charge N50 – N100 to haul you around the community while you suffocate in the stench coming from down below.

According to the World Bank, Makoko is one of the 9 major slums in Lagos state.

The other slums are Agege, Ajegunle, Amokoko, Badia, Iwaya, Ilaje, Bariga, Ijeshatedo -Itire.

Makoko is in Yaba Local Government area of Lago state.

The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Government Area is Omiyale Kayode Adejare.

Akinwunmi Ambode is the governor of Lagos state.

Have you ever taken a ride through this dirty canal? Tell us in the comment section and don’t forget to share till this gets to the appropriate authorities.

Oga when water is full of sewage nko, normally the amount of sewage per water will determine the colour

Well, I was opportuned to meet with the DG, last week ..cos myself and a friend with a high ranking chief came with recommendation letters. And he asked what I studied, i told him my course is under social sciences and he told us(myself,my friend and d chief) that they need mostly engineers...my friend did industrial chemistry and he said he wouldn't fit in..

The bonus data is to be used from 1am to 4or 5 or so. You knew about this arrangement when you were subscribing so stop trying to tarnish the image of my favorite 4G network.
it still doesn't work at that time
Phones › Airtel Weldone O by ddjay(op): 1:20pm On Aug 09, 2018
Scaming again and again, you guys must cut your own share of data subscribers by fire by force. u said N1000 for 3gb, splited it like mtn, 1.5gb main data then 1.5gb bonus.i finished the main data and can't browse, bonus data is still there and still can't browse. UNA WELDONE O AIRTEL, i escaped airtel scamming 4 years ago only to fall for this one now.i will never subscribe for HELLTEL data again even if its N10 for 5gb

Tarivanessa:
Good morning my people
People have differing opinions about the notch. Some see it as a necessary quirk as OEMs push the limits of “bezel-less” displays. Others see otherwise and have differing opinions.

What are your thoughts on this latest smartphone trend? Does it bother you? Would you buy a phone with a display notch?
