Celebrities / Do directors ask for sex to give favours in Nollywood? - shugaban by ddroid: 9:12pm On Jan 01, 2020
www.nairaland.com/attachments/3919699_anightwithastar_still014_jpeg52d96a4783ff6a861af24720c88d41a8

I am researching into scandals in nollywood where some asked for sex before giving a job ( roles ) in nollywood. Or when someone offered sex to get roles in nollywood. I have combed the internet to find this information.

All I see are people claiming that it exists.

For example, old nollywood actress mary data uranta, a former united ambassador, said "there were times when I missed getting roles because I wouldn’t succumb to pressure."

Also, yul edochie recently commented on twitter that

"No be only #sexforgrades dey oo, there's sex for roles in Nollywood, sex for promotion in offices.
E dey everywhere.
I hope they'll all be exposed."

I have written the first version of this article on shugaban ( https://blog.shugaban.com/sex-nollywood/ )

I will like to here more stories from the audience.

Who exactly has this happened to? How did it happen? Who was the cuprit? Why don't these actors mention names of people who are harassing them?

There was a movie made recently titled A Night With A Star which can be found on youtube that tells the story of a young actress try to get into the industry but the director and producer were harassing her.

Who knows a real life situation of this kind of thing?

Kindly read the article I shared above or comment below and let me know.

Celebrities / What Happened At Bez Live In Concert On Christmas Eve? by ddroid: 11:11am On Dec 25, 2019
I attended the Bez Live In concert at Muri Okunola Park yesterday.

I got there before 12 p.m. for an event that was to start for 6 p.m. You see, I am a dedicated fan.

I was there live when the team was rehearsing and perfecting the sounds. I was there when Waje came to test her voice and put the sounds in order. I was there. I saw there as Benjamin the drummer boy blew away shocked the audience with his skills. I was there when Femi Leye announced that he got married and became a father in year 2019, then dedicated to all who are also taking the journey. I was there when Lady Donli came to sing "corner corner" and made the fans jiggy.

It was a surreal experience. One that I will love to replay again and again if possible.

Bez did announce that that event was the last Bez Live in Concert event. He said something bigger and bolder is coming next year. My body and soul is ready for it. I can't wait for next year.

Some people were watching the event live on kiss shugaban.com/live, if you also want to catch everything that happened, visit the link.

Yeah. It's very bad. What if intellectual property is more respected in Nigeria and if you steal someone's work you pay heavily. Not jail. Pay! People will run away like that. No one likes to pay fine.

Kill offenders angry

Ha! shocked shocked shocked

What did we carry, what did you throw? If you kill all the pirates there won't be any industry. Also, people the people pirating are also content producers in another project. We no fit kill people oo.
TV/Movies / How Do You Think We Can Stop Movie/music Piracy In Nigeria? by ddroid: 2:31pm On Dec 17, 2019
It is no news when I say ( music or movie ) producers are bleeding cash angry

It's a pain when you invest in a project and not being able to generate revenue. Once a movie leaves cinema ( if it even gets there in the first place ) there are very limited avenue to generate income. Almost at that time, someone would have grabbed a copy of the movie and uploaded on Youtube. Or find similar platforms that allow you to download for free.

Alaba boys are also doing their own on the side, pirating anything they see embarassed

So I just want to know, how can I prevent my movies from being pirated? Or can how can I make so much from my movies before the pirates come in and spoil everything?

TV/Movies / Where Can I Watch Free Nollywood Movies? by ddroid: 5:41pm On Dec 13, 2019
Why are looking to watch free Nollywood movies?

Try to pay for the content that you consume, that way you can inspire the producers to do better work. If you get free content every time, how will the producers make money?

Anyway, here is a list of website to try out.

shockedhttps://Shugaban.com
: They have free movies you can watch. After you watch 2 movies they will charge for the next movie you watch. It’s pay-per-view so you can watch movies for less than #500 and be happy. You can see some of their movie trailers https://blog.shugaban.com/tag/trailer/.

The movies are licensed by the producers themselves, so you know that you are supporting those who made the movie when you pay.

shocked shocked IrokoTv : With a #3000 yearly subscribtion, you can watch over 100 movies on this platform. That should be like paying next to nothing per year.

shocked shocked shocked Youtube : You can get free Nigeria movie. Usually they are pirated movie with no attribution going to the owner of the product. You will get free movies but I will say try the other ones above.

shocked shocked shocked shocked IbakaTv : This site is related youtube. I know how they source their movies but they have free movies.

I am an advocate for nollywood, pay for what you consume. That way we can all get better movies.

WATCH LATEST BAAJ ADEBULE MOVIE THE MOLE Trailer

Actor, Baaj Adebule, speaks with KORE OGIDAN on his career and other issues

What can you recall of your background?

I had a pretty decent background; I didn’t lack anything that I needed. I went to good schools, wore good clothes and visited nice places. I had wonderful siblings and it was a great environment to have been brought up in.

What’s your educational history?

I attended Seat of Wisdom Primary School, Surulere, Lagos State, for my elementary education and Caleb International College, Ikosi Ketu, Lagos for my secondary education. I graduated from Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, where I bagged a degree in Economics. There was a lot of discipline involved in my childhood and for that, I am eternally grateful.

How different has the experience been since getting in and adjusting?

It is like living on two different planets. It has been amazing. It has gone from me walking on the street without being recognised to leaving my door with everyone knowing who I am. Everyone wants to take pictures and I get to meet people I never imagined meeting – people from all ‘walks of art’. It is a surreal experience. Of course, there have been negative sides as well. It took a while for me to adjust to my new life of fame especially because I am an introvert and celebrity life is different on all levels. Also, the support I get daily is overwhelming.
