Ofcuz it's there...check the icon on the right hand side close to the smiley icon, dats the timed message icon, and u can hold and retract messages...

Ok. But I thought you would screenshot it while in use. 'Cos the button can show on there without it working; case in point is Blend...

Can you post a screenshot of it in use? The timer and the retract option? Thanks

my phone doesn't come on.... when ii plug it,after the red light comes on ,'blackberry'' displays on the screen,it goes off and shows the red light again continuously.. ii donno if its the battery or the phone

I assume you refer to a Z10 since you didn't specify...

Do you have BBlink on a lappy?

Try removing the battery entirely and leave it out for about 45 mins - 1 hour then put it back in. That should work.

If it doesn't boot up, Remove the battery again and leave it out for same duration. Then plug the phone using a USB to a PC with BBlink installed. You should get a red battery-slash sign on the phone as well as LED red indicator. Now insert the battery and see what happens.

As soon as the phone comes up, reload your OS o. It appears to be corrupt.

Instead of all dis improvements & tweaks with the new 10.3 OS. BlackBerry should just make a new battery for we, z10 users.. undecided 2550Mah or 2880mah maybe sad

Well, the battery improvements are intended for all BB10 devices.

Anyway, the real question is how much a regular 2,550Mah capacity battery will be flat to fit into a Z10..

keep in mind, i did a full backup and restore.. i got all my data back but it seems to be slowing the phone down after some time.. I think the best way to go is fresh install without restore of backups.. Main wahala have always been backing up my BBM & Text messages, i just have to manage somehow till the official launch and we are able to use 'Blend'

grin grin grin

Yeah, I did a full backup and restore as well. Most apps I've checked work fine so far. I haven't noticed the lag yet though. And yes Blend is the 'look-forward-to' feature of the year...

Any takers on stability? Anyone flashed .1.821 yet?

It appears the OS 10.3.0.1052 build is unstable? After about 4 weeks of an install, My Z10 keeps shutting down and restarting over and over without booting up. I have to remove the battery for about 30mins before it boots up. At other times, I connect via USB to BB link before it boots.

Anyone on .1052 with the same issue?

that post on Etisalat BIS from me must have been from March 2013 just after BB10 devices started hitting the networks and they didnt know how good those devices were...after they realized that BB devices are now capable of pulling as much data as other platforms, MTN and Etisalat have deliberately blocked their BIS on BB10 devices

remember that BB devices running BBOS barely scratch the data allocated to them via BIS but BB10 devices will run the networks into data red if given unlimited data allocation

Oh ok, that clears things then

Hi, please advice me.

My Z10 dropped on hard concrete today and my screen showed a single crack. Now the topmost half of my screen is not responding to touch.

Please how much can I buy a replacement screen? Is it a good idea to replace it or better sell it off? The phone was bought brand new and never gave any trouble before.

Thanks

It's between 5-6k in Computer Village; replaced mine at 6k recently. Try approaching a good dealer in used BB10; they should help to point out a reliable technician to do this for you

I wonder who must av proposed dat "unfounded" theory
that a restore will "dabaru" the phone's head !!!

I guess it failed to work smoothly on some installs, perhaps some models like the Q10. I heard some guys hint at this on Crackberry as well.

For my Z10, this has never been the experience however. The first time I installed a leak (10.2.1.2102 I think), I did a full backup and restore and everything worked well with negligible snags here and there until the incremental official update. Recently, to get the leaked 10.3.0, I did a partial backup and restore (although this was accidental sha) and my phone's working OK. I got to meet the old apps I failed to backup on BBWorld anyways...

Phones / Re: Blackberry Porsche P'9983 Kicked Off With A Staggering Price Of £1,400 by DealMogul(m): 2:57pm On Sep 25, 2014
cabsco: We've already heard about the costing price of new Blackberry Passport which was officially launched yesterday with a price tag of $599, and currently listed on the firm online store shopblackberry.com. While the phone seems to be so costly for some people, i doubt if the new the newest third series Porsche Design P'9983 are really meant for most Nigerians.

While launching the Passport smartphone yesterday, Blackberry announced the pricing details of its stylish, premium stainless-steel Porsche P'9983, which according to the firm will comes with a price tag of £1,400 (almost #400,000). The P'9983 specs are low when compared with Passport, but it possess elegant design and style that are rarely seen on any other smartphones. The new third-series Porsche design will be available for purchase in October.

The Choice Is Yours (Oh! your pocket also matters)

Full specs of both smartphones are listed here: http://cabnet-onmobile..com

Bros, do review your wrong info. It is priced at $2,000 not $1,400

encryptjay: Saw the I2 yesterday and it looked lovely. That's that... I noticed that the new Innjoo i1s phones being shipped have been upgraded. That is, the internal memory is now 3GB compared to the 1GB of older i1s versions. I'm impressed with Innjoo I tell ya.

In that case, they take my vote for the most innovative and customer-centric budget phone in Nigeria currently. Imagine Tecno, Huawei, ZTE or even Gionee listening to consumers and changing according to customer experiences? They would have gone further than they are now in the mobile market..I wouldn't be amazed to find OTA updates for the Innjoo in the works...

henry007: oops wasn't the z10 going for 31,500 two months ago? lol @ Lucifer. mini implies a smaller battery and screen real estate, but what ever you say boss. now if you had said like z30 mini, you might have been closer to the truth but the term mini still won't be justified. call it a budget z30 instead. z3 is like that compact suv/crossover that feels better/comfy/classier than a sedan(z10,) but not quite up to the suv (z30)

Spot On, bro!

walcolm:

if you read some of my earlier submission on this z10/z3 comparison, i have always placed my main emphasis for choosing Z3 over Z10 on the fact that the Z10 is suffering from the pioneer's disadvantage...BlackBerry changed their development course and tried something new...i have not implied that the Z3 has better specs than the z10 because it does not...but the newer hardware, application of lesson learnt from previous mistakes all come into the build of the Z3

no other BB10 suffers from battery issues as the Z10. Z10 still has the highest screen resolution of all the BB10 devices until yesterday when the passport was released.

the lower resolution on the Z3 does not make a significant impact on the everyday user. all the BB10 devices are made with top quality material and they all feel great in the hand...you only have to hold the Z30 or Z3 once to understand what i mean

the fact that the Z3 has all the mistakes made in Z10 corrected when it was made means that just basing the choice on specs alone will mislead the average BB user who just wants a device that works and gives them no issues

i used the Z10 and loved it. i was prepared to handle all the challenges that it brought and i understood that those are normal teething problems associated with a new platform and new device.. most people buying blackberry today are not in that mind space and will panic and get worried when the Z10 throws up its peculiar challenges at them and i want to avoid that because the better the experience people get from using a BB10 device the better they will feel about their choice of the Platform over android and iOS

so my grouse with @punk is that he's hung up on specs and trying to shove that mindset down the throat of the thread and i cannot stand for that...i want the average user who comes to this thread because they want a great mobile experience to find the right guidance here by tapping from actual use case experiences of others. the hardware specs are a given and that information is freely available but the actual performance depends on how people use their devices and the result can vary even when people are using the exact same device spec

Re: Highlight in bold - Thanks for the clarification...I thought you were tryna bash the Z10 over the head with a Z3 grin

I guess we are both right especially when we stick with our points. Then it boils down to choice.

henry007: or you could simply let the current price point be the judge. z3 is more expensive but not by a lot and z10 is am old flame with all the disadvantages of being the first BB10 body. plus for most pple 5" screen is the sweet spot. tried placing the z3 beside the z10, I could almost see the z10's inferiority complex. lol

Well, I wouldn't say for most people o...that would be reaching it a bit. I for one am attracted to the 5" size but hey I'll rather have the portability of the Z10 that's why I'm sticking with her.

Another reason is that, I would like to change Z10 for something else on a whole new level, like the Passport. Now that's worth porting over from!

focusing specifically on the Z10/Z3...as of today, i will take the Z3 over Z10 for the reasons i have already itemized in previous posts...there's nothing i can do on the Z10 that i can't do on the Z3...newer more efficient hardware make up for the drop in spec at least for the

older Dual Core 1.5GHz processor vs newer more efficient Dual Core 1.2GHz processor - I'll take the 1.2GHZ
2GB RAM vs 1.5GB RAM - Not a big issue...as the BB10 OS becomes more efficient, the impact reduces
16GB device storage vs 8GB device storage - MicroSD solves that problem
No Miracast vs Miracast - I'll take Miracast
No FM radio vs FM radio - I'll take FM radio
HDMI out vs No HDMI out - Miracast solves the problem
NFC vs No NFC - i seldom use NFC currently but now that apple has jumped in there would be more opportunities to use NFC on all platforms

You have simply decided on a 'budget' device as opposed to a 'premium' one. I noticed you didn't highlight the hardware differences: casing, design and materials, audio placement and quality...

Ultimately, its your CHOICE even though both are good devices in their respective price points. And another picking a Z10 (like me.. wink ) would pick it for the same reasons highlighted above and more...so your positive is my negative, really. CHOICE
