Politics › Re: June12 ENVY- Igbo Group Demand Apology And #100b From Buhari by debaj10: 11:53am On Jun 18, 2018 |
ERockson: An Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Igbo Zuru Mee, has said the Ndigbo will not support the 2019 re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari until he tenders an apology to them. The group said the unreserved apology to the Ndigbo was “for the pogrom of 1966 and the civil war that claimed thousands of Igbo.”
In addition, the group said the president should give each of the five South Eastern states N100 billion as compensation as well as declaring May 30 as a national holiday in honour of all those that died during the civil war.
Convener of the association, Chief Goddy Ike, told newsmen in Owerri that such gesture would be the beginning of the end of all forms of agitations in the South East. Ike said: “The war ended in 1970 but Ndigbo have continued to bear the brunt of that unfortunate incident. Worse is that we lost thousands of our comrades.
“If Buhari offers apology today, you will see that there will be no MASSOB, IPOB or any other form of agitation. The ghost of 1966 and 1970 will be buried just as we have now buried the ghost of June 12 by the honour done to MKO Abiola and the other dramatis personae of the that election saga.”
https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/igbo-group-demands-apology-from-buhari-in-exchange-for-votes-256825.html op, this is very old news. until this festering wound is healed through due compensation, all noise of one Nigeria is simple deceit. |

Tadeknkeepcalm: Just one thing you got wrong. Slavery, not Americans, and other similar evils developed America.
Besides, America is not our mate. It wouldn't be fair to compare a 242 years old country with one that is still budding. And yes, Nigeria is still budding Sorry, you got it wrong. the true development of infrastructure was by immigrants, mainly from China and Ireland. it's why there's a Chinatown in most major cities- they built the transnational railway lines. most Irish immigrants builts the railroads, skyscrapers and bridges of the east, especially new york. black slaves belonged to households. they helped farmers become rich, especially in the south and Midwest. lastly, look at our mates we got independence with and see how hollow that excuse is... |

Politics › What Will You Sacrifice/Give Up To Have A Developed Nigeria? by debaj10(op): 10:37am On Jun 18, 2018*. Modified: 11:22am On Jun 18, 2018 |
Americans developed america. men built their homes, fought off bandits, grew their crops, raised cattle, had families and prospered. but also died in the thousands each year- from disease, snake bites, Indians, bandits, accidents, weather…
because they learnt endurance, they refused to allow politicians have their way ; they had to be part of the process. but to get there, many, many more died needless deaths. then came the modern 'freedom fighters'- Rosa parks. martin Luther, Malcolm x; and hundreds of thousands of members to their cause.
in today's world, america has more activism than the entire African continent. who can ask the south Africans what happened to aluta continua? what of the Arab spring in all those north African nations? here, we look for a messiah to win matches and solve problems on our streets. the irony? our ancestors lived in the same way those american pioneers did.
so what went wrong? and more importantly- what will you and I do about it? because clearly, everything from the ruling class has failed. is it time for the common man to rise up to the challenge?
what will you sacrifice for the next 2/5/9 years, to get a great nation? what will you give up for 24/7 power, running tap water, pipeborne gas, tarred roads, free, quality healthcare, smooth roads and debris-free, covered drains? let me put it another way: what kind of investment are you willing to make to have a truly great nation? international football? dstv? time? money? energy? betting? nairaland?
you choose. |

bros, dangote laid his plans years ago. he has to finish it. but just last year, 2-4 nations have projected an end to fossil fuel engines between 2025-2050. how many forward thinkers saw that coming? QuotaSystem: You really think Dangote will sink his billions into a venture without a comprehensive feasibility study? Lol.
In the same vein, you expect that the bankers that facilitated the syndicated loans did not do their financial projection and cash flow analysis before guaranteeing those billions of dollars in credit?
Lol, the entire premise of the thread is built on falsehood so I don't blame you.
Not a drop of crude oil will be conveyed through Dangote's sub-sea pipelines from the ND. Take that to the bank and deposit. |

Bullhari007: I wish this bombing and killing should magically go west, let's see if it can reset their thinking and slavery loyalty towards that Fulani president in aso rock... many in the southwest have been killed, maimed, destroyed by herdsmen. ask Olu falae. ask ekiti indigenes. if killings would've changed anything, we'd have seen it by now. the problem is Nigerians, rather than regions or tribe. ignorance and stupidity. |

ahn ah! atiku is older than buhari?! ol boi, sofli na! KenOne: It could only happen in PDP. President signed not too young to run bill that pegged the age for president as 35yrs and above. And PDP that were deceiving Nigerians that PDP is the party for the youth has ignored the law that stipulates 35yrs and above and went for 40yrs and above with stringent condition for an aspirant to sponsor 60 persons from 2/3 of the state of the federation and nomination fee of 12million. PDP is really Party Deceiving People. They've set the ground for a 74yrs Atiku to clinch the party's ticket that they criticized APC for fielding a 72yrs Buhari in 2015 PDP hypocrisy stings. |
