On the issue of unemployable graduates abounding in Nigeria, what could be the main challenge and who is to blame?

The schools, the employers or the graduates themselves?

In my own personal opinion, I think the graduates carry a sizable share of the blame because they don't attempt or seek to develop or upgrade themselves after leaving school hence they lack the requisite skills and knowledge to get them into the corporate world.

They rather buy the latest smartphones than pay for a personal & career development training program.

Hence they know more about digital gadgets & devices than they know about PowerPoint slides or Excel sheets.

They can use a computer to access social media platforms but can't operate the same computer for workplace/office productivity.

No recruiter or company would want to employ staff who can't add any sort of value to the business from the get go. They don't run a nonprofit organization. Every business owner runs it to make profit.

Fresh graduates need to do more and be prepared to learn, unlearn and relearn in order to acquire the requisite skills needed to attract recruiters and the corporate world.
