So I have a issue at hand about the surname of baby. I really want to name her after my dad but most people are telling me to use the sperm donor surname. I speak with his cousin almost everyday but I didn't tell him about my pregnancy. My Lo is giving me sign that she's on her way soon and I haven't decided what to do with the name yet.

Who gives an angel a sperm donor's surname pls give your baby your surname. A sperm donor with no appearance, no participation, nothing. If he decides to grow up tomorrow and wear the shoes, then you can 'consider' changing her surname (if only you are up for it). Pregnancy is not ten-ten and going through it without a partner's support is no joke but you are handling it like a champ, well done.

Give her your papa surname biko na odighi easy.

I have just lost my mum, how unfair can life be? N orphan at 29wks? She gave up on all the plans we made for postpartum visits, she gave up on me and left me all alone in this cold world. How do I deserve this, how do I survive this? It's all empty now, it's all gone. My world has crumbled on me. Who do I turn to, what do I do. It's a nightmare and I want to wake up.

All the mamas that contributed to my post on yeast infection, God bless you all. I will try the garlic insertion, my doctor said the yeast infection reoccur alot in pregnancy but the good thing is it disappears after delivery like most of you said, thanks a lot.

I pledge to take my prenatal Henceforth, will do my best, so help me God.

My doctor said salt and warm water but it doesn't seem to be working very well for me. A friend just called to Suggset baking soda , Pls has anyone used that? Did it work?

It is called 'Akwụkwọ Anyara' in Igbo Language. Ask them the leaf used in making Abacha(African Salad). It is very easy to get if you are in the east

I love chewing garden egg leaf like that. Maybe this is why I ignored all my prenatals and still had no pcv issues.

Recently I used it to cook yam/vegetable with ugba for MIL, she loved it, I hated it.

You can make abacha and just sprinkle the leaf on it.

You can make boiled yam and spice red oil then just put the leaf in it like roadside roasted yam sellers put utazi.

You can use it in place of ugu to cook okro.
I prefer options number 2 and 3 cuz then u don't cook the leaf at all, but if you want to cook, make sure to turn off the heat as soon as you put the leaf to avoid 'killing' it.

Oh and adding condensed milk to the juice couldn't hurt.

Giddyperson did you really ignore your prenatals and everything turned out great? Cos I have been ignoring mine, the severe MS did not help matters too and my system just doesn't seem to agree with the tabs, I have prenatals, pregnacare and the ones I was given at the hospital, each time I swallow any of them, I seem to have relapse into MS, can't even explain it. So I kuku quit but I have been shit scared if everything is gonna turn out OK. I have been praying that it works out well cos it seems praying is easier than swallowing the meds. I have even been too afraid to ask on here. I be no wan hear Wetin go cut my liver but I am bracing it up today. I have been eating a lot of garden egg leaves and ugba too. Ugba builds blood as much as garden egg leaves.

Sabi mamas, Pls is there one that 'unavoidably' skipped on prenatals and everything turned out great?

I also used a manual pump, brand name is Lansinoh and it was really good. You can get on Jumai (I think), I probably saw it on there last year. Medela is also very good and spectra too. If you have anyone visiting from the states before you deliver, you might have to discuss with them, get their approval and shop online and ship to their address so they will bring it for you.

Please mamas sabi, Abeg between baby rocker and a swing, which one is better? I am a second time mum but used neither of them for my first baby but the struggle was real, that boy kept me on my feet swinging and singing for hours on end, I got so used to it that I would even unconsciously cup my hands, swing and dance away even when I wasn't carrying him till someone nudges me back to reality. Body must be moving if he is ever gonna get a wink of sleep. The wahala scares me so much that I think a swing or a rocker would be a good investment for this baby but I don't know which one serves the purpose better.

Ema gbami mom as (help me). Is this what they call heartburn?? It's gotten worse these pasts couple of days. Esp after eating I feel there's still something stuck in my throat and no matter the amount of water I drink it remains the same. Its uncomfortable and I've been taking liquid milk too. Antenatal is weeks away. Did anyone experience this and what remedy?

Heartburn has shown me pepper. I get so scared of eating dinner and even when hunger pangs wakes me up in the middle of the night, fear of triggering it no go let me eat or snack cos when heartburn starts I sit up sometimes till 3am before I get relieved enough to sleep, all antacids given by my doc don't work, some swore by Gaviscon but it didn't do aything for me. With my first child, a cold glass of dissolved powdered milk will usually do the magic but this time, that ain't working either.
Luckily, a family friend adviced a Iick the powered milk rather than drink it. Didn't make sense since it's same milk na whether dissolved or powered but I tried it and viola! Solution found. Heartburn doesn't hold me to ransomed anymore, I eat without fear now.
So dear, Try it, you might feel relived. I hope it works for you.

yes dear very safe. but make sure u change his position don't let him sleep on his tummy always once u see his fast asleep maybe after 3hours u can change his position and don't let anything obstruct his nose that's what I did for my ds b4 my mil gave me a natural remedy and it relived him and sometimes I still let him sleep on his tummy but change him at interval

i saw mucus plug with blood on d 4th of june around 5am. weneva I urinate I continue seeing blood but my DH said since I'm not having contractions we should chill at home and watch it. later I started having contractions but not strong, I called a nurse she said it is better I go to hospital for proper monitoring since I'm bleeding. I got to d hospital past 10pm, the doctor checked me and he said my cervix is closed but he won't allow me to go home since I've seen show. he checked me around 5am and I was 4cm dilated, I was checked again by another female doctor around 12 pm she said I'm 5cm, that was when serious prayer started o, I was commanding my service to dilate fast. when d doctor on night duty came, she came and checked me around 5pm and I was 8cm dilated, she said I must give birth in the next two hours and her wish was stamped by God. I entered delivery room at 5pm and she passed d drip and gave me injections which oxytocin was among, i don't know d name of d rest, that was when I started shouting 'I want to poo' she came to check me again I was still at 8cm. she called DH to go and get one injection, she injected me on my laps that was when d urge to poo didn't stop at all. it was terrible. I pushed 3 times and d baby's head came out a bit, she was having cord around her neck , d doc cut d cord and asked me to push again and d baby came out exactly 7pm, she didn't cry at fast d doc had to beat her and she cried. I was just shouting 'thank you Jesus'. This is d experience of a first time mum. I give glory to God.

Congrats to all mamas that has put to bed, may Almighty God watch and keep ur lo. I was patiently waiting for Saturday so I can get a positive news concerning the heart beat, only for me to start having cramps all through yesterday and i was spotting.hmmm toward evening the cramps became unbearable it's was like I was having contraction every 5mins. Went to d hospital this mrn nd they gave me an injection and was sent to scan ,they couldn't find the baby again only for me to go nd pee and i popped it out and blood everywhere. I couldn't believe it, was so shocked but relieved as well,my baby at 11 weeks was finally gone. Hopefully I will join u all soon by God's grace.

Oh dear, Sorry for your loss. God will give you double for your loss. Eat healthy, make yourself as comfortable as you possibly can and before you know, you are back on. Please be strong

Pls mums is there a good chance to confirm sex via ultrasound at 20wks? I waited much longer for my first( 26wks) but hubby has been boasting too much about my bun being a boy when I have a very strong feeling it's a princess. I can't wait any longer to burst his bubble. He's been going on and on telling my son about his little brother to be birthed soon, the thing dey pain me ehh. Pls did anyone find out sex this early? Make I no go dash sonographer money only to see a kicking or moving Lo without sex, money must not waste.

Cs you want abi, na wetin d nurses dey ask me o, den I was looking at them dix weird look like (water dey my mouth wen I dey talk am)
All dix time, Doctor was outside with Fil signing consent form dat reads according to them dat cs is a 50/50 something. The nurse came to shave me na em I tear her slap! Where is d doctor o, where is d epidural o... She said na d cs dem dey prepare me for and I was like ontop dix pain? Give me epidural and start shaving o....

They now brought drip, gave me injection, I heard buscopam, for my mind I was like haaaa no be dix buscopam wey dat midwife give me wey no work...I started shouting again o, call d doctor, I want to see d doctor, save me o, save my Zion.. D doctor (a very nice handsome young gentleman ) now came and said oya lets head to d theatre. They said I shld raise my cloth and take injection, omoh I pull out d whole cloth, wore dat dia hospital green cloth dat looks like dat of d prisoners and used my legs to run inside d theatre o.

Oya na, lie down, I couldnt even climb bed again, I jex hooked for dia screaming my lungs away... Na tydi cuz dix tin o, na em cuz am oooo now my abigail has tight like rusted engine and my Zizi jex cnt come out.. D nurses where laughing but for me, it wasnt a play something. Doctor came in and I rushed and knelt down before him like Inwould kneel to my God in prayers, Doc save me o, dont let me die o... He calmly tld me, lie down on d bed so I can help u, dix tym I obey o, lie an obiedient crayfish and dat was how I zoomed off to laalaa land where I was seeing myself as dead o... Omoh to die is scary abeg if datz d feeling {I dont mean to scare anyone o} in my little trance, I was like so I don die be dat, where is my baby na, how are my inlaws taking it? I said I needed to see things myself and dat was how I started running back till I cld feel my body.

I was talking but it wasnt like I was d one doing d talking o, everywhere was jex triple sizing in my eyes. They now tld me I have delivered and blah blah blah... Dey wheeled me out of d theatre... (chai bs no easy o, my hand is paining me gosh! I gatz finish dix biko). They took me to my ward and all I wanted to see was my Zion!... Swt Mil brought him in for me and I looked at my cutie and I was ohhh dix boy is too cute worth my cs o...

Then I decided to feel my abdomen for cs pain but I wasnt feeling anytin, jex my hoohaa was hurting me... I asked swt Mil if I had cs and she sef think say I had cs o but jex wanted to calm me down, she said nooo, u born am o. She now opened my tummy jex to see how d site is but she saw nothing and she sef got confused. She went outside where Fil was doing all d calls of (ehhheee my son's wife don born o via cs, infact na wetin e tell my hubby sef) and asked him biko kee ebe esi eme operation (please which area dem dey do operation ). They got confused and went to meet Doctor who told them what he saw in the theatre was nothing short of a miracle... When I had d whole strength to push, Zizi didnt come, jex wen he drew his working tools to work on my body, d pushless me, pushed my 3.7kg without even knowing I gave birth, dey tear me, dem stitch me, only tin I knew was my baby was brought to my arms...

My God is Jehovah overdo, Fil said he is Chukwubuikem cuz he has no power of his own.., I learnt Zizi came out with tight fists sef like say he was gighting on d other side. He said itz power of a tither dat since he has never robbed God of his tithe, God wont let him use his tithe to pay for cs. My mom said a prophesy came to her early dix month that she will hear a testimony dat would look like a lie before dix month runs out... How wld u believe dat a doctor who has prepared me for cs ended up not doing it to me even when consent has been signed, anaesthsia administered and all... It can only be Jesus and I always say, he gat me big time! D man no dey carry my matter play at all.... Twale to master Jesus who did it for me as he would grant each and everyone of u easy supernatural delivery and to my GTC sisters, d God I serve who never fails has sworn he would remember u guyz and evryone will jex flood dix thread sotey we go reach 1mill page under 3weeks...

My hubby only learnt I didnt do cs yesternight sef cuz he said he was scared to ask me how d pains was and all, but swthrt u can always ask me how d episitomy pain dey abeg... D tin dey deal with me seriously! Even with mah sitbathe, though I started today... Another miracle happened dat day wey I forget to add sef, doctor no put me for maternity ward o, he said my son is special and gave us private ward with vip treatment ... He still taking care of us via phone and he wld say, how is my miracle baby... We would start reporting for thread cuties soonest, una go keep something for am o cuz his fine can make a lame to walk, so seeing his face wouldnt be cheap u know
