Technology Market / Re: This Thread Is Only For Aliexpress Shopper by Debclem(f): 1:33pm On Aug 26, 2022
Please does Anyone know why Zenith bank won't process my item payment of just 8k. This is so frustrating. Plus whenever AliExpress refund me for a botched purchase, I will only see the refund in my ledger balance, it pends there for a few days and disappears, never credited to my main account. I don't understand. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Will Standard Chartered Bank naira mastercard pay for item of up to 30usd on AliExpress? Thank you for any input
Nairaland / General / Re: I Notice Strange Marks On My Body When I Wake Up by Debclem(f): 9:04am On Dec 03, 2021
My search brought me to this thread, you can only write this off if you have not experienced it. Mine happened in broad daylight, when I am awake and active, probably eating or studying or doing just about anything and I will feel pain and when I look, there is a strange mark on my body, it is no cockroach or gecko and whatever people call it, this is SPIRITUAL, I stay awake watching my body and see mark mysteriously appear on it. It is depressing, OP has yours stopped? What did you do? Please help me. Which cockroach will do this to my body when I was waking my daughter up for school this morning, I felt the peppery pain and instantly checked, and there was this mess, at 6:45am. Mine doesn't happen in my sleep, and I feel it the very moment it happen. I can bet you, this is no insect or reptile of any kind. Please someone should help me before I lose my mind.

Don't use any nonsense pawpaw water, I was told to do that too. The only thing you need to do is to feed the child well, the more she poops the lower the biliribin level. The last part to clear is the eyes which may take days to weeks. Like I said my daughter's eyes cleared at 6 weeks. Please trust your doctor and trust God. If you don't trust your doctor you can take your baby to another hospital for second opinion. It is well with you.

I just went through the thread and found out the jaundice issue has been discussed. I have more clarity now, thanks all.

Wetin remain now na my swollen feet, please help. What to be done cry

Hello house, greetings to all mommas. Bikonu I need your collective help... I am 5 postpartum and notice 2 days ago, I noticed my feet was swollen. I didn't have any swellings during pregnancy until 3 days post-delivery. I have been trying to keep it elevated, doesn't seem to work or perhaps I haven't seen any improvement.
Is there a better way to resolve this please?

My son has slightly yellow colored eyes, I stated my concern before our discharge but the midwife and pediatrician waves it off and said a few days of Ampiclox will fix it, well it's been a few days and it's not resolving, nothing is changed. I began to take him out in the sun yesterday. My mother inlaw is suggesting some kind of unripe pawpaw solution, she swears by it.
Biko mamas, is there anything else one can do? At what hours and how long do I need to take him to sunlight?
Should I request for a bilirubin test even though they insisted it wasn't necessary?
Should I agree to the unripe pawpaw solution? Does it work?
Please help a mom make I know which one is giving me sleepless nights.

Please what is the exact description of your own breast pump, am on amazon right now and seeing plenty types of hakaa . Does it just glue to the breast and pumps on its own?? Thank you...

Hakaa is unbelievably amazing. It creates a suction on your boobs, sticks to it and drains the milk either while you nurse on the other breast or on the go. You would be amazed at the quantity of milk that little thing can give you. I prefer Hakaa over my Medela any day,no tubing, easier to maintain, easier to carry around and sill does the job and it's also a really good way to build up ur stash for a working mom.

BA
Our prayers has been answered, our heart desires granted and our hopes fulfilled. We welcomed our son at 9:25pm.

I will quickly drop my BS as well before vigilante takes over and drains me.

I started feeling some mild contractions on Thursday but could manage through it, later that evening we decided to go get checked at the hospital b'cos I figured that at least the dilation checking will somehow disturb my cervix and probably get things going more quickly besides all the pains can't be for nothing na. The on call doctor checked and I was 2cm and 30% effaced, my contractions weren't established, so I was sent back home. My doctor had earlier on tuesday informed me that I'm booked for induction on Monday for inducement as I was already way past my due date if I don't fall into labor naturally. I have low threshold for pain, so inducement is a nightmare.

On Sunday morning at about 4am, I woke up with mild contractions that were 30mins apart, I knew it wasn't the real deal so I got ready for church. When I got home, I took a nap and woke up worried as Monday was already here and my contractions were still stalled.
I called hubby and began to guilt trip him(it works all the time grin), I began to rant about he will devote himself praying for others in dire situations and would get results but now his wife is about being induced and he's yet to do something about it. I told him I was wondering Why would I be married to a man of God and still worry about such situations.
He felt really bad and told me he has prayed and told me I won't be induced but my faith is weak, he said he didn't have to pray within hearing distance for me to know he has been praying about it. I shaa told him that I don't see him praying about it as often as expected.
Bros apologized, we held hands and prayed.
Less than 15mins later, my contractions started again and was more established, so I began to time them. After sometime, they were 5 mins apart so we set off for the hospital, then the pains were manageable but constant. I just kept praying that Jesus make it easy and swift.

We got to the hospital, the on-call doctor checked and I was 4cm and 40% effaced. 4cm ke? With this steady contractions? Today na today. I didn't believe it so I asked the midwife to check, she did and it was same thing
Hubby asked them how much longer it might take to dilate fully, the doctor said 3 hrs or more as it's my 3rd delivery. Hubby said that wasn't true, that I would be ready for birthing in 20mins. The doctor said he didn't think so because I was not even 50% effaced at the time, hubby told him to go and come back to check in 20mins.
While all these was going on, I was busying chopping undiluted pain and chewing away that poor washcloth I brought to the hospital with me(I will need to see a dentist as I nearly cracked my teeth gawning away my pains at that poor small towel).
About 15mins later, the chief Ob-Gyn came in as we had called him earlier. He checked and I was 8cm and 100% effaced shocked. God honored his word because I couldn't bear that unimaginable pain any longer.
People of God, that was how they started getting ready to deliver. He busted my water, the contractions grew moustache and ugly beards, the pain was Really ugly but the towel I was chewing hard at helped me not to scream much.

They fixed the oxytocin drip and had me pushing at each strong contractions, 4 pushes and my boy was born. I had a tear, first time tearing with 3 babies. I asked him not to give me a cut but the baby tore me. I was stitched and handed over my amazing gift that I didn't have to return. He weighed 3.2kg, quite a shock as my 2017 daughter weighed 3.5kg and I didn't tear but this Bobo is well worth it.

*Contractions became painful at home and was established at about 6.40pm-7pm (according to my contraction timer app), We left home and arrived the hospital at 8:45pm and I had him at 9:25pm.

Jesus glorified himself, our home is complete. Daddy is over the moon, his big bro and sis are excited to meet him tomorrow(School is canceled for 2moro) and This mother's heart and hands are full!!!

My January teamies, the Lord is your strength and it will end gloriously. Thanks to everyone that answered my questions and listened to my yeye random rants in my days of waddling. God bless you all, you are the real MPVs.

I wish every pregnant woman here an easy and safe delivery, May God show up for you on your day of delivery and may it end in an unusual testimony that will shock the devil himself to the glory of God. It will be swift, faster than mine and your pains will be bearable.
Pray and completely trust God and he will definitely show up for you in that hour you need him most.
God bless us all

January Cappo, our able Joyfulmama I have submitted every and signing out permanently on pregnancy thread. I won't just hang Booth(e fit fall tomorrow), I will fling the booth.

Mamas biko besides eating whole organic pineapple till my tongue burns like it's currently hurting, what else can one do to effectively encourage labor? I had some contractions on Sunday which later stopped, saw my doctor yesterday and was 2cm dilated.
Aside some very mild contractions that I can barely feel, there is nothing else going on here and I want baby out, we don kuku reach our farthest due date, the rest has been passed.
I don't want to go the castor oil route except as a last measure.

Every input will be appreciated.

Present! The waddling is becoming dramatic, my bump is so massive I am wondering how I will ever snap back.
Hospital bag, packed and dropped off at the hospital already, baby wardrobe arranged, Cot is set. The only thing missing is the baby, can't wait to birth this blessing and go back to life as I knew it. I had a little bit of diarrhea and lots of vomiting last night and thought that was IT cos I've been praying for a December baby but nothing for me.... Still here, still waddling, still in the ring with heartburn and the thing is really dealing me really good blows. Me=0, Heartburn=10.

May Jesus make it easy for all Preggie mamas and grant us all a perfect testimony.

Don't worry about it Cappo, it's not uncommon for scan EDD to be a few weeks off when it's a late scan which is why accurate EDD is better calculated with a first trimester scan. 2 days before I had my son, 2 different scans put my EDD to be 3 weeks ahead and to think that I was already 40wks+2days by my LMP calculations and my 1st trimester scan EDD, my head was woozy, I cried my eyes sore and was as confused as you are but my doctor calmed me and explained things. Little man graced the world 2days later, full term.

Secondly, scan weight is totally 'Estimated' and mostly wrong, there is no way to truly know the weight of a baby till the baby is born. They arrive at the estimate weight with the calculation of the femur, head and all but a baby can have a long femur and still be really low in birth weight whilst another can have a short femur and be big.
Doctors has adviced CS based on scan estimated weight of about 4 or 4.5kg and end up with a 2.5kg baby. These things are never clear cut, they are just to give an idea which is kinda settling, so one doesn't go in blind.
So relax, rock your bump, get a good care and expect your new year miracle.

Joyfulmama:
Please experienced mamas and seniors I need help o.
DH insisted that I should register at government hospital also, so I did. I had my first scan with them yesterday but their result has been giving me worries that how can it be. The scan said I'm 30wks and with my private hospital I'm 33wks+ which is in line with my own calculations as my LMP is 24th April
They also wrote EFW is 1438g, though I never checked baby's weight with my private scans before but I will ask when I go for clinic now. Thinking maybe the weight is small or OK I don't know. Just worried as a FTM.
Please don't read and pass. Drs or nurses in the house should help me shook mouth and also experienced mamas

Better sleep was pushing me last night, I couldn't type. You mustn't pleasure him through sex alone. What happened to hand job or Mouth Action, your boobies if they are small like mine should have grown a little bit bigger by now, carry enough baby oil or coconut oil and pour in between, let him insert una junior Oga and fire on. You can use your hand and push your bobbies together to make it tighter for him. I know say nobi today I spoil tongue tongue.

Please register for antenatal or see a Dr for proper evaluation, na your health we dey talk about. If anything should happen to either you or your Lo, na only sorry and petting highest you go receive. You will be the one to bear the pains alone. You mustn't tell him you are going to the hospital, carry yourself and go please. It is well with you.

Nobody is fighting you ma. All myself and jazzy did was clarify. I believe all of us have learnt and more importantly, anyone who joins after and searches the thread will also learn. Ice chips cannot cause heart conditions. All it will do is quench your thirst and cool the heat in your body. Enjoy your cold and ice water in pregnancy. All the best

Nyxx123

I am 34wks pregnant and haven't drank room temperature water, heck! I haven't even drank mildly cold water, my water has to come from the depth of a freezer, my 2015 and 2017 pregnancies were exactly the same.
SEVERAL doctors that I have used over the years have assured me it's fine and I have had perfect babies.
Sometimes that I have gone for ultrasound scan and my babies weren't in favourable position for imaging, I have been given ice cubes or very chilled orange juice to drink and that got things going.
Your body needs lots of FLUID during pregnancy to avoid dehydration, hot, cold, frozen, smoked, carbonated, fried or roasted fluid grin, whatever kind of liquid it is, you need to get it in.
As bad as carbonated drinks seems to be, some mothers who went through Hyeremesis Gravidaruim grew their babies on ice cube COKE or whatever drinks their bodies could tolerate and they birth really healthy babies.

During my 2 previous Labour experiences, I have had to take really cold drinks, chewed on ice and even had cold baths severally, under the watch of very well trained Obgyns.
I don't chip in when such issues arises cos it sometimes stirs up really sour arguments and ain't nobody got time for that.
Some of us hardly let go of old practices forgetting that millions of dollars are pumped into medical researches on a daily basis just so we can find better ways to do things and live a more progressive life. This purpose is crushed when despite new informations popping up, right, left and center, we decide to cling to the old practices. I know how hard it is to let go of one's believe but the simple thing to do is to invest a little of our time to go on the internet, sourced materials, read those research materials and find out how right or wrong the informations are.

I give my babies FRIDGE COLD pumped breast milk, I did this for my both kids . I have never done warm feeding for any of my babies. They don't have flu, not col, well immuned and are strong as tusks. The first day my doctor told me I could do that, I cringed but I talked to other doctors, read some researches and found out is was completely safe and that was the line I towed and still intend to tow when this baby comes. My mother inlaw nearly died of heartattack when she first saw me feeding my baby cold milk when she visited 1 week after his birth, she swore that boy wouldn't wake up when he sleeps and panicked all night but now na she feed cold milk pass me sef.

I don't even mention it to mothers cos I don't have energy for arguments except those that were around when my babies were being fed and saw them gulping CHILLED breast milk.
Am I asking anyone to feed their babies chilled milk? Hell no! Infact, God forbid, all I'm saying is... Things are done differently, there is no 'one size fits all', be open minded to learn new things and cold water is 100 percent safe in pregnancy and during Labour.

I am not blaming anyone for their convictions as Some Nigerian doctors rarely attend medical conferences, seminars and all, so they stick to their outdated knowledge and leave very little room for growth. They of course pass down these outdated infos to their patients and we can only but believe what our doctors says but second/third opinion from other doctors has done more good, saved more lives than not.

May we all have smooth pregnancies and birth amazingly cute and healthy babies.
Happy bumping.
