5 Dangerous Lies Entrepreneurs Tell Themselves https://naijabiz.ng/5-dangerous-lies-entrepreneurs-tell-themselves/ |
Doing what everyone else isn’t doing is the nature of entrepreneurs. However, this singular entrepreneurial act has now been automated lies entrepreneurs tell themselves on a daily basis to feel cool. I have taken time to examine some dangerous lies entrepreneurs tell themselves in other to live their passion and achieve them dreams. See below in no order of priority: We are overwhelming optimistic that people will love our products and services. Oh yeah optimism is needed to succeed as an entrepreneur. However, many at times, entrepreneurs lie to themselves and believe that they know what customers or clients love. The truth is, entrepreneurs only make knowledgeable guesses and then test the hypothesis in action. Most times entrepreneurs really don’t know what customers want, just as consumers equally don’t know what they want most times. Hey! holding onto this lie may cause your business to struggle. Many entrepreneurs are so focused on setting up structures and strategies for their businesses that they lack the time to grow personally through reading. “I don’t have time for myself not to talk of reading”, remember this “the day you stop reading you simply start dying”. The most successful CEOs who get new ideas to drive the “big picture” of their businesses read dozens of books yearly. Not reading and expanding your thoughts and learning new ideas will only keep you stagnant. Life and work are intertwined and inseparable for entrepreneur, I totally believe that ‘the reward for work is to work more”, and entrepreneurs must be able and willing to work at least not less than 80 hours a week in the formidable years of their business. Simple put – hard work is necessary for building a successful business. However, entrepreneurs often tell themselves lies believing that the only solution is to “work harder” by putting in longer working hours. To be honest, this doesn’t necessary means a business will suddenly improve and grow, instead entrepreneurs must look at the core of the problem and seek to create more systems to deal with it. Difficult times are unavoidable in startup stage, but it’s a lie that most entrepreneurs believe that more work hours are always the solution. Children are considered gifts from God and the joy of every marriage. Asides the blessings that they bring to parents, they can also be a pain in the gluteus maximus. Sometimes, parents get tired of their children’s tantrums and secretly wish they could put them up on an eCommerce site for whoever is interested in taking over, but it’s not possible because you asked for them and you got them. And if you are yet to have children like me, consider this post a ‘heads up’ to help you prepare for the future. It’s never too early to learn. group of Nigerian fathers called The Supreme Association of Nigerian Fathers Home and Abroad (TSANFA) has taken billionaire business man, Femi Otedola to court for raising the bar of fatherhood too high. Earlier today, Femi Otedola bought three Ferrari luxury sport cars for his three daughters, Tolani, Temi, and DJ Cuppy. DJ Cuppy set the social media space blazing after posting the picture of the cars on her twitter page Speaking to Danfo Xpress Award-Winning Reporter, Alade Omowura, who is the Chairman of the association, described Otedola’s action as insensitive and an attempt to put dissension between the average Nigerian daughters and their fathers. “It is absolutely preposterous. How can one man just wake up one morning and decide to lavish a whooping 500 million Naira on cars for his daughters. It’s a disgusting display of lavishness and opulence. At a time when most fathers are struggling to make earns meet in this Buhari era. “Now, our daughters have started disrespecting us, calling us all sort of names because a lot of us cant afford to buy them bicycles, talk less of cars. “Otedola should be looking at how to marry off his daughters to our sons. “Therefore, we want Femi Otedola to reverse his action by taking back those cars from his daughters, and use the money for something beneficial to everyone.” Read the full story here https://danfoxpress.xyz/nigerian-fathers-take-otedola-to-court-for-raising-fatherhood-bar-too-high/ |
igerians are happy people and we celebrate every occasion no matter how little it may seem. From wedding parties to house warming, birthdays, naming ceremonies, car warming ceremonies, kindergarten graduation parties and the likes, attending owanbes is an important part of our society today. For every party that is hosted, especially weddings, souvenirs are bound to be shared. This is considered a ‘thank you for coming to celebrate with us and eat our rice’ kind of gift. Also, a souvenir leaves you with fond memories of the event. Over the years, Nigerians have shown their uniqueness through the souvenirs they share at events and here is a list of those I consider funny: Salt and Maggi: since no one ever complains that they hate salt, party hosts will continue to share it. Maggi is the sidekick. Scouring powder: in case you have any pot with a black bottom that needs a complete makeover, a scouring powder will come in handy. Vaseline: you get to use it during the Harmattan period so your skin will be well oiled and shiny. Cello tape: if you have a torn book at home, cello tape to the rescue! And if you have a guest at your house who wouldn’t stop talking, then you know what to do with the tape. Read more here: https://danfoxpress.xyz/funny-things-nigerians-share-as-souvenirs-at-owambe/ |
My fellow Nigerians, It is I, your favourite and kindest head of state in Nigerian history, General Sani Abacha. I can only guess how intensely happy you must feel to be hearing from me again. This truly warms my heart, and for what it’s worth, it is with great pleasure and gladness of heart that I write to you today. Believe me when I say that I really do miss you. After all, with all the spirits flying around and the occasional demon who keeps trying to torture me for my “sins,” things can get a little boring over here, on the other side. It’s one of the reasons I’m writing to you today. Another reason is just to reminisce. I cared about Nigeria so much that I made enough effort to make us internationally recognized as one of the most corrupt countries in the world. If this isn’t true love, you really do need to tell me what is. One of my best memories from our friendly relations was how I made the media keep quiet more often than not. Some haters might have said that it was an arbitrary decision. But, if you really think about it, what’s the real use of the media? I mean, who really cares about monitoring the government the providing a platform for freedom of speech? In my opinion, na just okoto meow bants dem dey always yarn there.
