I know some people will start mentioning Apple. This question is not as easy as that. You will have to consider the ratio of customer satisfaction vs customer dissatisfaction for each brand to know which manufacturer is really the best. Being the best boils down to one thing: the ability to satisfy your customers.

If you use that ratio, the lowest dissatisfied customers would be the ios users

nah.. one doesn't wake up one morning and start hating on something. av used an Apple mobile.. iPhone 5. it still in my drawer. it just over hyped.

S7 has good battery but edge has a great battery.

@ Donhils, it depends on how you use your phone. If you use it like an addict without dropping it, then get the s7. If you're like me, using phones periodically like a regular adult, dropping your phone and coming back to see it at the same percentage, the 6s will last you longer than the s7 in 24hrs out of the box. However, you would give up fast charging which is a big minus. Also, if you are into rooting, you could extend your battery life on your s7 with kernels, disabler and ROMS.

Do an extensive research. Don't fall for the debates here. Go to xda, search for s7 battery life, read the different opinions and statistics uploaded by the members.

Go to imoore and macrumors and do the same for iPhone 6s. Go through the screenshots there.

I'm in the same dilemma. Currently using a note 5 and selling my s6 active. But when it comes to battery life aspect, I have no doubt who I'm picking.

I surf the Internet like you won't imagine including watching YouTube videos else how can a user have 6hrs SOT by watching photos alone? Have a sophisticated phone without using it for calls? That's funny. I play games when bored. Like I said the battery stats apps are there to show you what consumes battery but the OP don't care to know he just wants it to work out of the box and Samsung isn't interested in that they rather want you to buy the next flagship.
I am on wifi 247 with GPS and sync always on round the clock.

1 over 5 is me and that's wifi nothing else.

You have 6hrs SOT with Wi-Fi and you're very okay? Let's even make it 7hrs. Use your phone with WCDMA and watch it plummet to the mid 5s which is average for a smartphone.

This is just constant use not standby, cos we know Samsung ain't that good on standby.

I'll take that battery life though as top notch for an Android phone plus coupled with fast charging, you're good.

I don't need to persuade you. I get 6hrs' SOT with about 20% battery left. Go to XDA and see people who get 7-8hrs.

Sure you can get 8 hours SOT if:

1) You use Wi-Fi all the time rather than network data

2) You don't make calls with your phone

3) You don't stream with your phone

4) You hardly play games on your phone

5) You stare at it all day just looking at the pictures

In this context, those should be two different terms.

They released marshmallow for Camon C8.
That is a good step in the right direction.

It is only on Nairaland that I see folks making issues out of non issues when it comes to Tecno.

Personally, I prefer Kit Kat to Marshmallow sef.
The only reason I will clamor for 6'0 is because I want to be seen as being in vogue.

For me, upgrade or no upgrade, as long as the device delivers, I'm fine.

You guys really need to stop making it look like the OS upgrade thing is some right that must be delivered to you

It should be the brand's prerogative. As you well know, A device's OS is a major selling point.

It is a right.

Wet customers stick to a brand cos of its future proof reliability. When an upgrade comes up, the changelog makes it exciting for users to move to. You can agree that upgrade isn't going to the norm but improving on what was and adding new features.

If Apple wasn't upgrading all their phones at the same time even 4 year old flagships, no one would stick to them
If Samsung neglected mid tier phones in their updates, people won't buy the next iteration
Same logic makes Xiaomi the 3rd big thing this year. Their updates are seamless and they've taken the world by a storm.

Tecno is doing one thing right: Price. They left the other attractive option which would hurt them in a long run. They won't take over anywhere not even Northeast in Nigeria if they kill their devices barely one year it got released

If you compare how much it costs to buy a Samsung flagship phone and how much it costs to buy a Tecno flagship phone then you might find that there is no need for this discussion.

If they decide to roll out OS upgrades, good and fine. If they don't, I won't fault them.

The only place I would fault them is if they don't release updates to fix bugs et bloat wares.

Samsung updated their low end phones, Motorola, Xiaomi, Xperias, HTCs even Huawei. Most of these phones were cheaper than the phantom 5 when they came out. Even phones like Galaxy A5 2016, cheaper than the phantom 6 would still get updates.

Tecno is just meant for the gullible
