Although i dont know if his narration is spurious as you said in your previous post but there is someone on this thread who went to embassy with paying sevis fee but he was granted visa too.

In conclusion, If he can deceive us but he can't deceive himself that what i want you to know..

And noone should try do this ( not pay Sevis fee and show up for interview). I need not say this on a second thought, because I expect every studious follower of this thread to know better.

I remember a few years ago a guy actually paid his Sevis fee but the fee wasnt processed by the EcoBank staff in Seme for the reason that the Sevis fee website was down. The guy wasnt informed by the bank about the development, and to even make the situation worst his interview was a few days away and was to be attended at abuja. The guy had to travel to abuja from lagos without the Sevis fee receipt but went with the WU payment confirmation. Yet, he was sent out of the embassy because he didnt present the Sevis fee receipt. Hence, the reason I conclude your narration is spurious. However, you can prove it otherwise.

You need to clear the dust around this your transcript and visa approval. Clearly, everyone here knows before anyone shows up for the F1 Visa interview, the evidence of SEVIS fee payment is a core requirement.

MsNas: I didn't say you did. But bear in mind that people look on onto this page for advise and some might take any of our ideas (ideas which we have made made out of assumption and in your case because you said people you know have done it).

I'd like to make something clear though, SEVIS does not recognize deferment or all those stuffs. Its either you're enrolled or not. And according to F-1 Visa rules you have to be enrolled full time at all times when you're on an F-1 visa or else your Visa and SEVIS is terminated. This is the reason the schools tell people who are defering to go back home so that they don't have to go through the whole process of reinstating their I-20, SEVIS and Visa which might not even be granted by the DHS.

There is nothing like deferring in America. You take classes this semester and decide to defer for two years. What does that sound to you? Simply put, You are out of status. Period! If deferment was possible and as easy like that, all of us would defer and go look for employment to bankroll our education. Heck! We will defer for 10 years sef.

The only reason you can defer and still stay back in the United States of America is when you have a documented medical condition. Otherwise, if/when you defer, make sure you pack your bags and head back to your home country. Reinstatement after deferring based on a medical condition is not even automatic. Your request to stay back in the US may be granted or denied.

Whoever doesn't enroll for classes in a semester (or defer as you call it) is out of status, is an illegal and deportable from the US. Even if the deferment was caused by sickness, you're still out of status and will need to apply for reinstatement with docs backing your claims of sickness up. All of these shouldn't exceed 5months. So anybody that thinks he/she can defer and come back after 1 or 2 years for reinstatement is on their own.

Quick question BigFrancis... you said your friend deferred for two semesters and will be returning next year right? Is your friend illegal or not? Is his SEVIS still active or not? MsNas: It's like you don't know what they call www.turnitin.com. All they need is upload the SOP on there and it will tell them what percent of plagiarism is in the SOP. It will even give the exact website where it was copied from (be it 1 or 100 sources, it will list them one after the other) and then collate the percentage together.
