Car Talk › Re: Bought A Brand New Toyota Hilux 2025,my Experience. by decub: 8:08pm On May 26 |
SeaTrade: So I just got this truck as man's getting older and practical and I'm loving it,maybe early excitement though,I don't know. Things I noticed: This thing burns a lot of gas,I mean a lot!15.5-15.6L/100km na em dey for dash steady ,used to be 14.3L/100km,don't know why it jumped.
Hard steering ,maybe because it's coming from someone that have been driving sedans for a while now and some CUVs.
Large turning space and poor manoeuvrability,Hilux no follow you manage space oo,you go reverse tire.
Sturdy suspension, you no dey feel anything.
Slow truck, crawls its way up to 170kph and stays there, sucks!
And I get free service for 20,000km or one year whichever comes first from the dealership at no cost.
Car came at 677km
Expensive purchase no doubt but worth it. Brand new Toyota Hilux shouldn't consume that much fuel. It's fuel consumption comes when you don't service when due. Please check if you mistakenly activated the auxillary gear. It doesn't also crawl, ensure you don't full throttle cos the weight won't allow it accelerate at the speed you press down so go gradually to your way up. You really don't need 170 on that machine tho. Enjoy your new ride. |

Efuaye: What would a cutlass do to a terrorist that is carrying an AK47 rifle? We too like cruise in this country. Forgot bro, there's one thing with being a student and having liver (as we called it in those days). How we garnered such morale is what I still find it difficult to understand now. If all SS students face the bandits without fear bro, casualties go dey but some of those Kala go jam. |
Politics › Re: If You're Not Paying Subsidy, Why Are We Still Borrowing? - Sanusi by decub: 11:41am On Apr 24 |
Parachoko: Nigeria was borrowing to pay for subsidy before Asiwaju became the President
Under Jonathan, we were borrowing to pay Salaries, borrowing to pay for subsidy, Pension, and also borrowing to build projects
Under Buhari, we were borrowing to pay subsidy on fuel, and also borrowing to pay salaries, pensions and also borrowing to build projects
Under Asiwaju, we're not borrowing to pay pensions or salaries, we're not borrowing to pay for subsidy, we're only borrowing to spend on Capital Projects.
I expect Sanusi to know there's no problem borrowing to build capital projects The question is right because subsidy removal brings about N900B monthly savings for the government. Juxtapose it with the $516m (approximately N712B) we want to borrow again then you will see that it doesn't make sense borrowing if we are not paying subsidy. Even as a person, you can't claim you've cut down your expenditure by not taking bike home from your bus stop and instead of using the money (savings) for your health insurance (in this case, a capital project), you borrow to pay for your health insurance. |
Politics › Re: Omotayo William Predict How The 2027 Presidential Election Will Pan Out by decub: 11:56am On Apr 22 |
Bossladyy: South West - Tinubu wins. South South - Peter Obi wins. South East - Peter Obi wins. North West - Peter Obi/Tinubu share votes. North East - Peter Obi/Tinubu share votes. North Central - Peter Obi wins.
This is how 2027 Presidential election will end. Go and record somewhere for remembrance. Obi can't win SS. It's easier for him to win SW than SS. Remember Rivers and Akwa Ibom is not for him. |

Travel › Re: Laguardia Airport Collision: How It Happened, The 2 Dead Pilots by decub: 4:48pm On Mar 25 |
FreeStuffsNG: That airport is poorly lit and it is no brainer that visibility will be very poor. Truck is supposed to have a warning flashing light with reflective luminescent colours too but it was a struggle to see the truck.
Finally, are the trucks not supposed to stop when airplanes are landing ni and can they not have a traffic warden on ground especially during such brief period instead of relying on controllers who are several metres away. No, trucks don't stop because an airplane is landing because there are different runways. That is why the controllers, ATC, ground controllers are the main eye of the pilot. Once you are cleared, you are free to go because stopping based on your own visibility could cause a collision with another plane especially where there are multiple runways. |
Romance › Re: Was I Wrong To Allow Her Pay My Rent? by decub: 2:18pm On Mar 23 |
KnowledgePower7: I moved into a new apartment and I'm very comfortable. Now my babe is kinda baddie type girl
Before you judge me. I like her like that She visits me from time to time. She get car oo. No be small pikin. .
But herr is the little issue.
Early this month she helped me pay half of the money I paid for rent. So technically it felt like we split the rent. Ok cool
She lives with her mum in a nice house. So of lately she sounds time in my place.
Now this is where it gets funky
She dey kpooo SK loud for the balcony we stay upstairs. Sometimes she smoke inside the house. We have a family neighbor opposite us. I feel that my babe smoke is affecting them because the building is close to each other. Anytime she smoke I hear this family neigbours slide their window shut.
She does this whenever we want to phuck Now to make it worse she like to moan loud One time around 3 am she scream loudly during orgasm . I had to force my hand to cover her mouth.
She is giving me bad rep in this street And I'm scared police might come I have talked about this to her and she said that she said rent too and she can do whatever she wants it's her money.
Frankly she paid 80% of the rent I settled agent fee and the rest
My brothers, what do I do?? My reputation is looking bad I can't chase her out based on she paid huge part of rent. She dey moan loud and smoke loud I still love her. She love me like mad .
But I won't lie anytime she start smoking I just feel panic that neigbours might call police due to the smell. But she don't care
What should I do my brothers Someone gotta be the man of the house bro. Make the rules and stand by them even if she paid 100% of the rent! |

billyG: Can government run any commercial venture successfully. I had same question until I read this: The government’s role is to de-risk investments and attract capable private sector operators.” He then challenged the organized private sector, represented by the Umuahia and Aba Chambers of Commerce, to assume responsibility for running the revived industries efficiently.Honestly, Nigeria needs this in both the downstream sector and transportation, to say the least. |

They should run a test for you then prescribe medication for you! Begin search your phone for your rolls in the US, one or two go get anti malarial drug. Borrow 1 pack and quickly arrange for someone to send it to you here from Naija to replace for the person. Alternatively, locate a hospital and get diagnosed. |

Hedonisco: Even though there is noting admirable about Wike, This is in bad taste. Northern solidarity should not be paramount.
What is the business of the service chiefs in a PERSONAL land dispute? What jurisdiction do they have to "investigate" anything pertaining to non-military land belonging to a private individual in Abuja? The arbitrariness and anyhowness in Nigeria is just tragic. The business of the service chiefs is that the military was invited to guard the land. Ideally, those military guys have a chain of command which stops at the office of the Chief of Naval staff for Navy, then to the Chief of Defence staff who then reports to the president. It's not put of place to involve the service chiefs since at Mike's level, he has access to them. |
Nairaland General › Re: Have You Ever Stepped On Deadly Snake Before? by decub: 6:02am On Nov 03, 2025 |
saintcasmir: Have you ever stepped on a deadly snake? I did today—and I’m still shaking!
Today, I went to my papa’s farm to harvest some plantains. As I reached for one, something under my feet started moving violently, like the ground was alive.
I looked down… and OMO 😳—I was standing on a massive Gabon viper… with BOTH feet!
I screamed and ran, but fear made me trip, fall, get up, and almost fell again. My heart almost jumped out of my chest!
Somehow, I grabbed a stick and was able to kill it.
Never in my life have I felt fear like that. One moment, I was calm… the next, I was literally running for my life!
Anyway if you around Ondo Town, you may holla me for a tasty snake pepper soup. I am sincerely happy and thankful to God for you. Simply put, a bite from that snake kills in a very short time, I know of someone it killed. Next time, always watch out for the presence especially when there are grasses in the farm. It's quite timid so most times, it rolls itself and hibernate, hence the reason it hardly strikes first. Growing up, I saw it a couple of times and you could pass it without either of you noticing but bro, that thing is lethal. |
