Politics / Re: Alex Otti’s Ph-Aba Road Vs Lagos-calabar Coastal Road by decub: 8:30am On Apr 22
yoruboid:
The PH-Aba Road is a 6 lane road which is not concrete and is 6.7km under Otti costs N30bn which is about N4.5bn per km

The FG is building a 10 lane concrete road from Lagos to Calabar and it costs N4bn per km

Which should ordinarily be more expensive?

Nice observation.

However, consider that your comparison is between a Tier 1 construction company and a Tier 2 or 3. Their bills can never be at par.

I really do not know the details (scope) of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway but PH-Aba road contract includes a flood control mechanism which is not the usual embankment and channelling system. I learnt JB is to make provision for underground water collection system like tunnel that would empty at Imo river.

The level of dilapidation of PH-Aba road is quite disturbing that up to 20% of that cost MIGHT be spent on recovery of earth, cutting anf filling because most part of the road had either become a dump or flood site that they might cut up to 1 meter of earth to get a solid base.

Nonetheless, if it were Dave Umahi, he would have employed a different approach to reduce cost which include using alternative but competent construction companies and spearheading the supervision to ensure best construction practice at minimal cost.

The loud guy is just shouting , chin chun Chan cho hum ha!

Lol
Try hold down the volume up and down together at the same time for like 5 minutes to see if it will change.

If it doesn't work, try the individual volume buttons one after the other.

Changing the language for most speaker systems is done with the volume buttons.

Education / Re: Which City Has The Highest Number Of Universities In Nigeria? by decub: 8:35am On Nov 21, 2023
IVORY2009:
The city with the highest number of universities in Nigeria is **Abeokuta** in Ogun State. Abeokuta has 8 universities, accounting for almost half (47%) of the total number of universities in the state. Here's a list of the universities in Abeokuta:

1. Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB)
2. Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU)
3. Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology (MAUSTECH)
4. Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)
5. Crescent University (CU)
6. Babcock University (BU)
7. Mountain Top University (MTU)
8. McPherson University (MU)

Abeokuta's concentration of universities can be attributed to several factors, including its strategic location, historical significance, and conducive environment for academic pursuits. The city is well-connected to major transportation hubs, making it accessible to students from across the country. Additionally, Abeokuta's rich cultural heritage and relatively peaceful atmosphere contribute to its appeal as a university town.

The presence of numerous universities has had a significant impact on Abeokuta's economy and social fabric. The influx of students and faculty has boosted local businesses and fostered a vibrant intellectual community. The city has also benefited from the contributions of these institutions in terms of research, innovation, and community engagement.

Overall, Abeokuta's position as the city with the highest number of universities in Nigeria reflects its commitment to education and its role as a hub for academic excellence in the country.

Business / Re: 5 Habits That Will Keep YOU BROKE! by decub: 10:48am On Nov 15, 2023
Joseph1505:
Hello, my name is Mentor Greg. Today, I want to share with you five habits that can keep you broke and prevent you from achieving financial success. If you're between the ages of 16 and 40, pay close attention to these points because they can make a huge difference in your financial future. Let's dive right in!

1. Not Budgeting Your Money
One common habit among broke people is their failure to budget their money. Instead of spending their money on appreciating items, they spend it on depreciating items. As soon as they receive their salary, they rush to buy unnecessary things, leaving them with little to no savings. Rich people, on the other hand, understand the importance of budgeting and spend their money wisely.

2. Surrounding Yourself with Broke Friends
Your friendship circle can have a significant impact on your financial success. If you surround yourself with broke friends, chances are you'll also end up broke. Negative attitudes and conversations about money can drag you down. It's important to build a network of successful and positive-minded individuals who can inspire and motivate you.

3. Having a Bad Attitude
Your attitude plays a crucial role in your success. Broke people often have a negative and pessimistic attitude towards life and opportunities. They tend to bring others down and discourage them from pursuing their dreams. On the contrary, rich people have a positive attitude and believe in their abilities to overcome challenges and achieve greatness.

4. Failing to Plan for the Future
Broke people live in the moment and fail to plan for their future. They focus solely on immediate gratification and ignore the importance of making long-term investments. Rich people, however, think years ahead and make strategic investments that secure their financial future. They understand the value of planning and preparing for what lies ahead.

5. Blaming Others for your Financial Position
Broke people often blame others for their financial struggles. They find excuses and external factors to justify their lack of success. In contrast, rich people take responsibility for their actions and find solutions to overcome obstacles. They don't waste time blaming others but instead focus on finding ways to achieve their goals.

Remember, if you want to break free from the cycle of being broke, it's essential to adopt the habits of rich and successful individuals. Take control of your finances, surround yourself with positive influences, develop a strong attitude, plan for the future, and take responsibility for your actions. By doing so, you can pave the way for financial success.
6.) Always believing FAF will come for bailout.

This reason of my writing goes this ;

My brother who in the village due to shortening down of his work reported issues to me how my stepmom accused his wife of stealing eggs going farther reminding of the past due to her dubious attitude my elder brother beat her up and sent her to their family some years ago but after some while my dad brought her back for peace settling..
From the report my brother told me the woman went on by saying some curse on us that she as no benefits deriving from us after she had taken cared of us now we showed her no favor ,meanwhile her first son is living with me over two years now in south-western part of this country with a little am having I do placed my dad on a monthly allowance which from there she will gain some stuff . Traveling home I will buy some clothes also go along with my clothes that I consider outdated but still nice for her two children who are in the village and during my staying with them I will take care of the bills which my dad will not be comfortable with it... my elder brother's wife is a nurse , she's always there for her on all ramifications, my second elder brother's wife
do take care of her but to my greatest surprised our stepmother still have the mouth to say we have done nothing for her ..
From my brother's words ,the woman said alot of words which I don't want to put in writing..

Am thinking to send her son back to the village and stop responding to any help ..

Foreign Affairs / Re: Exposed: Why Israel Is Hated By Arabs & Their Apologists by decub: 2:38pm On Oct 11, 2023
TemplarLandry:
No Bible-believing Christian Will Be Against Israel.

Israelites are God's own people. God refers to them as “my people”, and by extension, all Christians are spiritually Israelis. You thought God was bluffing when he told Abraham to leave his occultic father's house in Southeastern Turkey (Haran) to a land he would show him? God also promised Abraham and his descendants the current location of Israel 'promised land'. Go read Joshua 1:3-8.

The Covenant goes from Abraham to Isaac, from Isaac to Jacob (Israel) who gave birth to 12 sons (the 12 tribes of Israel) and a daughter named Dinah...Jacob (Israel) had 13 children. This is how the Covenant has been flowing from generation to generation. Let's take note that Adonai only recognizes ISAAC and not Ishmael as Abraham's descendant>> Genesis 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.

This whole terrrorism and perversion introduced by people of the other religion was as a result of Abraham and his wife's error. But I strongly believe they were ignorantly acting God's script. That error gave birth to Ishmael-the father of Arabs. Now this error is at war with everything God established. How would a sane person deliberately blow themself up, also killing others in the process? They would take the lives of people and yell “Arahu Hackbah”. These wicked humans are blood-sucking demons.

Genesis 16:12 (NIV) He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.
Up till today, the rebellious seeds of Ishmael are always in contention with the descendants of Isaac, claiming the promised land is their inheritance. They would be the first to aggress Israel and celebrate prematurely but when Israel retaliates, it's always lethal and they start playing victims, and their apologists follow up by staging bogus solidarity rallies around the world.

Is it not strange to you that Biblical Hebrews migrated in one group to Egypt and spent 400 years there in slavery and they never lost their heritage? Even after World War II, look how they quickly regrouped from all over the world after the formation of the State of Israel. Don't tell me that was ordinary. Best and richest jewelers-Jews, best scientists in the world-Jews, most rich people on earth-Jews. These people are gifted and blessed. The Covenant of God is eternally activated for them.

In 1945, for Harakiri-stubborn Japan to be contained, it took a Jew's idea. During World War II, Albert Einstein wrote a letter encouraging President Franklin Roosevelt to pursue the development of the atomic bomb, because he was worried that the Germans would invent one first. And boom Little Boy and Fat Man did the job. That's what made United States the world's superpower up till today. Nuclear weapons are now mere bargaining chips, also for deterrence; under the principle of Mutually Assured Destruction (M.A.D).

Any Iraeli Prime Minister who wants to sabotage God's plan for Israel will likely be given the 1995 Yitzhak Rabin treatment. He was the Israeli Prime Minister who ceded Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ to Palestinians in 1995, this unpatriotic move angered Israelis, he was unapologetically assassinated in broad day light by a 25 years old Israeli named Yigal Amir, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yigal_Amir He's in prison doing life.

These Palestinians were the same uncircumcised Philistines who waged war against Israelites during Biblical days. Their champion was Goliath, God used David to end him. Scriptures can never be broken; the words of God can never fail. Does it not surprise you that even though Israel is surrounded by hostile Arab nations, none of them can subdue it? Check for yourself what God says in Joshua 1:5-6.

Every action has a reaction, at 6:30 a.m on Saturday, October 7, 2023, the terrorist group acronymed HAMAS https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas launched Land-Air-Sea warfare (LASW) against Israel. Now with retaliatory bombardments by Israel, they wish they hadn't attacked Israel. Right now, Israel is giving them overkill. On top of that, Israel has cut off fuel, power, food and water supply to them; total blockade.

Who are these uncircumcised Philistines? Jehovah specially prepared a portion of the earth flowing with milk and honey for His people, because the Ishmaelites' forefathers at some time in the past strayed into the Promised Land, these Palestinians are claiming ownership of the lands which God promised Abraham and his descendants. I put it to you authoritatively, the State of Israel is God's divine agenda, no force can stop Israel. The words of God can never be broken.

How can you be a lover of God and despise the people of Israel? Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
Open your Holy Bible and read the whole Book of Joshua.

Gone are the days when boys were real boys as I look back in nostalgia.

Below were rules of football when we were kids, damn it was fun

1. The fat kid was always the goalkeeper.

2.The owner of the ball decides who plays .

3. If you didn't participate in repairing the ball you were given a match ban.

4. The guy who's never picked was to fetch the ball from the trees or bush when it got stuck, under the car or tunnel to play in the next game.

5. When the owner of the ball got annoyed, game over.

6. When you hit your toes against a stone and you notice blood, you quickly cover the area of injury with sand as a form of first aid and play continues.

7. You can't dribble the owner too much, this may lead him to stop the game by taking away his ball.

8. No matter how many goals you scored, the winner would be determined by the last team to score.

9.No offsides.

10.There is no referee.

11.There is fault only if the fault is serious .

12.The 2 best players can not play in the same team so everyone chooses their players.

13.If you are chosen last it is a humiliation and you will remain in defense.

14.If there is a penalty the goalkeeper is replaced by the best player of the team.

15.The best player on the field is always in the same team as the owner of the ball.

16.There is always a house where if the ball fell there, we knew that the game was over. so be careful !! cheesy grin

17. To distinguish the teams, one of the teams take off their shirts .

18.Game over when its dark and we can barley see the ball, we all disperse in groups teasing one another until we get home to face another punishment from our parents. grin

Africa is our home. Childhood was fun.
Good old days.

The owner of the ball, the best footballers? Don't try to mess with them.

The former US president proudly posted his Georgia mugshot on his social media channels - admitting he didn't even know what one was before he was indicted. There's no doubt the image will go down in history - just as similar shots of well-known faces have before.

Donald Trump's scowling mugshot will rank among the most famous of all time.

The former president joins celebrities like OJ Simpson, Khloe Kardashian, Hugh Grant and other famous faces who have had their picture taken by the authorities after run-ins with the law.

While in the UK mugshots are only released when a defendant is convicted, in the US they are published as soon as someone is "booked" - or formally indicted.
