In America, the police engage terrorists, armed robbers, bandits on their own, but Nigerian police have channelled all their energy chasing people who insult online and using their time on the road to target young men for exploitation, if they focus their energy in tracking and investigating violent crimes and these bandits and killers posing as herders, these evil killers would have been routed. People have seen them and identified them, the police will be seen to be compromised, because we have police stations and DPO's in all local government and wards in Nigeria, their work there is to gather intelligence and help the locals combat crime, but the police have become lazy in Nigeria always waiting for the military, it's a shame.

We need to overhaul our police force, and fund them adequately, ensuring all corruption and leakages is removed from the police finances and it's allocations.

Oga IG with all due respect, why has there not been any arrest, are these killers ghost, people have identified them, the victims identified them as fulanis, is it that hard to trace their location, with all the assets and public funds appropriated to police?

I say the police is very inefficient, the DPO's even the commissioner of police if Benue has failed.

Adolf Hitler the man who caused the largest and most catastrophic war in history, and that led to the sharing of the world into spheres of influence and new world order is very much influential, because the spheres of influence of the major powers is still held strong by them, and New world order, of United nations/G7, NATO doing the enforcement is still alive today.

We have police station across every local government and ward, yet incessant attacks on Benue people, the police can not investigate and arrest suspects, it's a shame. Creation of state police will never work in Nigeria because the country is fractionalized along ethnic, tribal and religious lines therefore it will always end in tears!

If for instance you're a Bini man living in Sokoto and you have a disagreement with an indigene of the state.

Once such a matter is taken to the state police the natural thing for them to do would be to support their tribesman therefore it means you cannot get justice in such a setting.

After this you now get to the issue of misuse by sitting governors who will definitely use the state police to hound members of the opposition during election.

Once a person becomes governor the first thing he will do will be to recruit all his kinsmen into the state police, whether qualified or not.

It also means that 36 state governors will have licence to import different arms and ammunition at the same time, this is a good recipe for complete chaos

I also hope you people know that most state governments in Nigeria are struggling to pay salaries of their civil servants, you now want to compound that problem by adding the wage bill of state policemen.

We should not try to solve a problem by creating an even bigger problem!
