honesttalk21: The concept of classical al-muhajara, which is the original almajiri idea, referred to guided journeys undertaken in the pursuit of knowledge. In this tradition, children received support from families, scholars, or endowments (waqf), ensuring they had food, shelter, discipline, and a structured curriculum. I personally know a young man that is an astute computer scientist that is a product of that system and know another 2 young boys acquiring automobile technical skills. Unfortunately, a lot of what we see today in many areas of Nigeria is a distortion of that tradition in unsupervised minors engaging in forced street begging, lacking formal education, and facing exploitative conditions that are clearly against Islamic law, which prohibits neglect and harm to children.
This situation reflects a failure in social and governance systems, rather than a religious directive, and it understandably poses security risks. Islam does not endorse poverty or homelessness; any practice that fosters ignorance, suffering, and violence needs to be reformed or eliminated in our time. After all, upholding human dignity and maintaining public order is a fundamental goal (maqasid) of the faith. Okay, your talk sounds reasonable, but talk is cheap, we need to see actions. Northern youths who are bearing the brunt of this backward ideologies that create millions of jobless almajiris, who end up being lured into jihadists terrorists crimes, and kidnapping due to poverty and indoctrination should alienate themselves from such backward ideologies... mobbing people for speaking will not attract tourists, visitors or investors to your northern region. We live in different times from the days of the prophets, most of the things done then might be for defensive purposes, which doesn't apply anymore, muslims are not being prosecuted, so there are no needs for laws that creates animosity, division and seperation, as we saw in the case of Deborah, those ignorant youths were driven by the blasphemy laws of the north North must save itself from backward ideologies and doctrines, it serves no good...focus on what creates peace, togetherness and progress, not using ideologies and laws like sharia and blasphemy laws to make the youth extremists...the sinister clerics will use the terms jihad, and infidel to poison the minds of the ignorant kid, this in turn will create hate against others that don't think, pray or behave like him, in his heart...this path leads to self destruction. |

honesttalk21: Boko Haram’s ideology isn’t the same as the Sharia that mainstream Muslims practice. Instead, it’s a takfiri insurgent doctrine that outright rejects state authority, scholars, and civilian life. This is precisely why Nigerian Muslim scholars, Sharia courts, and governments condemned Yusuf long before the insurgency even began. Just because Yusuf had a brief connection to Zamfara politics doesn’t mean it was a doctrinal mandate; political figures, extremists, and criminals have twisted religious language in every faith, but that doesn’t define the religion itself. To equate Boko Haram with Sharia overlooks a crucial point: Boko Haram targets Muslims, attacks mosques, dismisses fiqh, and wages war on Muslim communities. This stands in stark contrast to the principles of classical Islamic law and governance. Good articulation, but why is almajirism still encouraged? Why are there so many northern almajiris in southern Nigeria, and everywhere, don't you think this is a future security threat to the nation? Everyone can see almajirism is why there are more poor people in the north...why not do away with things that are not helpful, things that breeds poverty, ignorance and violence must be discarded, abandoned and alienated. We live in different times from the days of the prophets, we must change and adapt or perish. |

honesttalk21: Islamist doesn't equate to Islam. Islamism represents a contemporary radical political ideology that claims to integrate Islamic principles into every facet of government and society. This approach differs significantly from Islam as a personal belief system and often stands in opposition to democratic ideals like individual rights and freedoms which Islam itself respects. Bokoharam like sharia, muric like sharia...do you know how Yusuf bokoharam leader came into prominence? Just recently muslim leaders say they will fight for Sharia with their blood, same sharia that aligns with what bokoharam wants. Do you know that Yusuf, bokoharam founder was in the sharia council of the then Zamfara governor that started sharia? |

Eboofa: Tinubu has not done anything about state police..........its establishment must be done as an act of parliament! We can abuse privileges but State police is a must! The FG must fund it by reducing its shareholders of state revenue! Is Tinubu your senators and house of representatives members? Were they not voted same way Tinubu was voted? People say they want one Nigeria but always undermine the sharing of power between parliamentarians, executive members and the judiciary. Senators and house of assembly members are voted in by their constituents same way Tinubu was voted. I expect Nigerians to march down to senate building and ask them why they have not passed the bill. |

Reference: When I say State and Local government police is the only way, people scoff at it.
It is getting clearer by the day that there is an agenda and I dare say an expansionist agenda by some elements in this country that see indigenous security as a threat.
We are not ready to "Federate' this country. And at he rate we are going we will end up a fiefdom, a nation of sectarian rule and ownership.
The United States obviously has information they are withholding about underground schemes of territorial subjugation. Since it's pronouncements the killings on the eastern flanks of the country from Plateau through Nassarawa to Benue has gone silent. A coincidence? But has erupted across the mid to west belt. Coincidence?
Now this. There is an agenda. This is beyond criminality. Nigerians should wake up and demand for the security of there homelands. The trust of the centre as a neutral partner in serious doubt.
People should ask for the police they themselves will control to protect themselves. State and local police is the only way. I wonder why some clown and saboteurs will be talking of politicking when lives are being lost, it defies common sense. Life is the most important thing, we need state police to protect lives, protection of lives is number one on government priority, it is above any other considerations...so if state and local police can help us stop this jihadists infiltration and terrorists killings and kidnappings, why are the governors not starting it, when Tinubu already gave the green light...we have the wrong people as governors. |

The NSA is not working effectively at all...only indigenes should be vigilantes in their state...what type of fuckery is this?
Every state has men known to them, their indigenous people, southern Nigeria must reject any sinister plan to bring outsiders into our midst in the name of vigilantes or forests guards.
Federal government must use indigenes of states to protect their state, they know the terrain.

SisterAnn: Buhari never had any integrity. I know men who were with him during his days in PTF. He may not desire plenty money for himself, but he will surely create an avenue for his Fulani people to loot and he'd look the other way.
Road projects then were skewed to favor his part of the country and so was every major intervention from the PTF
The Mr Integrity toga was cast and orchestrated by the SW APC!
However, for his wife to be part of those who would cosign a dossier chronicling his weaknesses is sacrilegious and a crime against the dead!
I'm still trying to see how this benefits her.
Tinubu is a million times more corrupt than buhari, but do you forsee a Remi Tinubu towing this part against the memory of her late husband even at gun point? May be in the world to come. His religious and ethnic bigotry put Nigeria in this insecurity mess today. |
