Literature / On YABA LEFT And Madness by Deesick7(m): 7:32pm On May 30, 2015 |
Just wrote this piece on yaba left and the concept of madness. Plagiarists.... I use God beg you. Stare clear of this post in the name of Jesus, Allah, Jehovah, Ayilala, Sango or whatever it is you believe in. YABA LEFT That place in space Not space like cosmic space But space like Lagos space A space Lagos tagged home of the mad The mad Those that have transposed into some different space of understanding of the universe Because we cannot understand them we say mad Mad cause it’s hard Hard to fathom from this breaking pad that sanity should rests on. That Styrofoam that should pad the mind from the heavy rain called trouble and torment that we face day by day That always tries to splinter the mind in form of mad Leaving cry and sad in its wake as it abandons it’s charge to care for the mind. It’s the fault of the world it says. Harsh it says. The Devil’s home it says. But I contrapute. Yaba left, left the turn to bad. The opposite of right. We think we’re right because we can’t understand those on the left. To God, who is mad and who is unmad? Who stands right or stands left in his charge? Close your eyes. You’ll realise that the mad could be the new man. He does not conform to what you call civility. He is mad and he, he embraces his left. What is left of the society of those who are civil, standing right. Violence, hatred, is this not mad? Yaba left, It’s just a space Do not laugh at it. Do not shirk from the mad. In the most obscure of phenomenon lies the gatepath to uncharted understanding. I stand by it. What if the mad is not mad and we are mad for saying he is mad. Madness may truly be the imargency exit to true sanity. Judge for yourself if this makes sense. After all, its the ramblings of a mad man presently standing on the left of YABA LEFT. Literature / The Truth About The Truth by Deesick7(m): 12:16pm On Apr 24, 2015 |
Truth is not part of an objective reality because it is naturally fragmented. Waiting to be discovered by those who dare, not as an absolute piece but to be constructed to fit a meaningful description which leads it to be most times variegated. It is constructed by a person, persons, or on a larger scale, communities of persons who believe in a common set ideal to fulfil specific needs provoked by specific historical, sociological, religious and psychological gaps in the coordination of human life. - Daniel Oluwabenga Ayodeji (2015) |
Gaming / Re: 5 Issues Only Nigerian Gamers Understand by Deesick7(m): 11:36pm On Apr 16, 2015 |
I usually find ppl at football viewing centres, at the bus stop reading newspapers and arguing aimlessly over issues they can't solve, watching the mediocre Africa Magic, watching good movies in general, playing actual sports or talking aimlessly. All of dis things are ways of exercising ur body. Whether it's ur mouth, ur brain, whatever. The bottom line is we do this things cos dey give us some sort of closure. Oyinbo calls some of dis things hobby. Why should gaming be any less different? It works d mind, relaxes n is quite educative. So why should being a gamer make u automatically immature?? Stereotyping is a result of an inability to understand the more complex paradigm life takes. Gaming as an art needs a certain finesse n dat is why d greatest minds around the world have made technologically breakthroughs. Because dey av not limited dey're minds to a certain aspect or degree. If watching empire or scandals or whatever dey're calling it dis days doesn't make u immature n ranting on Ronaldo n Messi all day doesn't make u immature den I see no reason why gaming should automatically make anyone playing immature. Games cost a lot and it takes a certain degree of maturity to process some of the complex storylines and violence in them dis days. So to all u nay-sayers.... Bleep off!!!No equivocation. Ps:most games on major rigs n computers are rated for mature only especially d infamous GTA 5 Likes |

CountDracula:Whether you like it or not, the man is the most quoted writer in the history of mankind's ecriture after him Laozi and Khalil Gibran. Plays are different from plays besides his milieu is different from ours so it's natural if you can't really grasp the language and misunderstand d man or find him utterly boring. And if u think u r a great poet or something like that n u r in d sciences,it's not because ur mind is built for the sciences. It's just because u r naturally intelligent. But if u r d most read author n quoted author in the history of mankind then I'd say u r a genius won't u agree. |

Education / No, Science Students Are Not More Intelligent Than Art Students by Deesick7(m): 6:18am On Mar 20, 2015 |
Hello fellow nairalanders, This is a response to a post earlier that was asking the question, "are science students more intelligent than art students? "Unfortunately, most people commented and stated"yes", science students are more intelligent than art students. Well evidently, this is not the case. The world is made up of many societies n civilizations n as much as science students are considered "more intelligent", we will find dat dey have only been able to further just some aspect of human life. They basically deal in the objective but the artist in the subjective most of the time. To say that because scientists are investigating the aspects of objectivity to solve human problems, they are more intelligent is truly a grave injustice. It is not easy to write poetry or sketch or even paint great masterpieces from the crevice of the human mind, else everyone would be n artist. Intelligence is innate n cannot be quantified or conscripted to one level of knowledge because the world is made up of different elements and both scientists n artists attempt to solve human problems at varying levels. You cannot say Einstein is more intelligent than Shakespeare or Galileo more intelligent than Aristotle, because they are geniuses in their own right. So I can comfortably say that those who consider science students more intelligent than art students have failed to critically examine the problem at least in a cursory way. I am an artist, and I'm proud to be one.Thank you. 1 Like |
Literature / To The Lord Of Light - A Poem By Bruce-daniel Oluwabenga Ayodeji by Deesick7(m): 8:49pm On Mar 18, 2015 |
I remain enveloped in that ocean of ecatasia. A true place where I first found solitude From the dark gorge that keeps the world from light And in that heaven of light, in that deep of eternal dancing white candles …. I was recycled The magnitude of such love and bliss was like the gap between heaven and earth,it can never be bridged, it would never be bridged, it should never be bridged, it needs not be bridged, it wants not to be bridged. This gap between the firmament and the solid ground…. the solid ground…. The SOLID Ground. Not so solid are you? To this gap A gap so immense, that it can never truly quantified by the colourless mathematical concoctions nor verbatological or adjectological enterprise of so called geniuses It is true that those who restrict themselves to only what they can see and touch will never reach beyond the earth. They will never transcend the universe. Yehoha… Only you have healed my blindness, I have now reached beyond the earth. I feel myself sweeping in the stars of this celestial universe. Heaven! I have reached far above the stellar. O Yehoha, O Yehoha Yehoha…. Hallow I you Yehoha…. Hallow I thy son Yehoha…. Hallow I the work of thine wondrousity Yehoha… Fight these monstrosity and come with thine Kingdom to give simplicity and much lagged tranquillity Till such time that thou shalt truly fill the earth Yehoha…. I shall stand real and fast in this new realisation and Wait …. Wait… And wait. Wait I shall and glorify thou with sweet melody O Yehoha… Lord of Light.Wait I shall |

Ilaje44:Truly you have established some points here but I must stress to you that I have not tried to paint Nigeria as a Utopia amongst other third world countries because it is not but neither is it the dystopia you are painting it to be.Yes,there are problems but no nation is free of them. Some ppl av even gone as far as declaring Nigeria a failed state saying that d white man should come back to take control of things as things as were "better" under them but all this is not true.I consider all this aggression n fallacious statements based on unbalanced frustration on the nations current standard.Independence day is worth celebrating because we as a black people r making a statement to our former masters that we are not monkeys n we are intelligible beings like them.It is a day of reflection n appreciation for what we do av in retrospect n what we are potentially supposed to have in introspection and a day to examine how to better ourselves as a ppl.It is not a day to curse d nation n damn it with such statements as u av made above. The government is not perfect but it is not all bad if we examine it from an unbiased point of view.Truly d president does not deserve re-election next year because of his inability to address some pending issues but ge should be lauded atleast for some tinz that he has successfully put in place dis past few years.Change doesn't happen overnight. As the elections are fast approachin, there are qualified candidates who can make positive change to the country but because dey are not under d umbrella of either PDP or APC n dey can't cheat n lie like men in dis parties, whilst dey remain in their small parties n seek for d presidential seat, nobody will vote for dem.If change doesn't occur den is it not d majority's fault?Bottom line:We all av our parts to play. There is room for improvement. If you don't think it can happen, leave the country and rescind your citizenship.I believe in Nigeria. |

Yes Nigeria is not perfect just like every oda country out dere....we av our woes but we have weathered some thunderstorms in recent times n we r better than most third world countries like Yemen,Syria,Ethiopia n almost all d countries in Africa n d Arab world.Atleast we r not war torn.....yet. So lets celebrate wat we have even if its for dis 24hrs n curse on d rest we don't av tomorrow n d days to come.#No nation is perfect. 1 Like |
