Your Canadian denials will not pose any problem IF you can defend your intentions to travel which is to study ofcourse. So prepare well and hope for the best.

*Check my transcript, It might be a source of encouragement.

Thank you smiley, I plan to use it.

LagosismyHome:
no issue at all , otherthan why buy two way which is more expensive and it most likely you wont use the return leg

If you plan to come to Nigeria within a year, great if you have no plans then you dash the airline money for nothing

I bought two-way ticket, intentionally though. Is that an issue in anyway please?

LagosismyHome:
Hope you remembered that student can buy one way ticket.... no need to buy return if you are on a 2 year and more program

Good evening everyone,
Please what is the easiest way to pay my tuition/fees (when I get there) from my account here in Nigeria? Considering FG's FX control measures in place.
Current students in TAMUC, how did you guys settle your bills/transfer money from Nigeria especially for your 1st session there? huh
@Senate111
@Adex0802
@bigfrancis - I'm not sure if you're a student there but you seem to know stuffs about TAMUC. kindly help
@everyone with reliable ideas/info.
Thank you

A somewhat silent reader here with a good news to share. I didn’t know about this thread as early as I would have preferred but thank God I didn’t make costly mistakes. So my interview was on 27th December 2017, I was placed on AP till my resumption date passed. The embassy contacted me and asked that I get a new i20 before the processing can be concluded. Here was how my interview went after greetings and passing the requested documents:-

Why do you want to study in the US
US has great reputation for her academic excellence, technological advancement and with respect to my course Management, I looked at the years of practice, existence, structure….then my study plan….How richly the program is designed to transform students into excellent managers which is exactly what I need now in my career.
Where are you going in the US?
I am going to Texas - Texas A&M University-commerce
What course will you be studying?
Business administration, Management major (then I continued, just to clarify that it was written differently on my i20) though it’s written as Business Administration and Management on my i20 (she then took a look at it and said ok)
How many Universities did you apply to and why?
I considered 3 universities in US but for full application - 1(one), Texas A&M commerce and this was because for my course, some universities offer it as an online course, some others only offer it during fall session (keep in mind that I applied for winter session2018) while majority don’t even offer it at all at masters level…so this was why…… (said some other things I can’t really remember)
What is your highest qualification?
I have BSc in Business Administration, Human Resources Management Major
What value will this US degree add to you that your undergraduate degree hasn’t?
Presently I work as a Human Resource Consultant for XYZ company but I want more and I believe for every next level of my life, a different and better version of me is demanded….i believe a higher academic qualification in my chosen career field is the way. (She was busy typing and listening so I continued) I want my profile to be attractive enough that the likes of Accenture Nigeria, Kimberley Ryan and Workforce Group….top HR/Management consultancy companies in Nigerian will not be able to reject a job application from me, if and when I ever do apply.
My major goal though is to build/own a HR/Management consultancy company that could in near future stand with these top HR companies in Nigeria,
Who is sponsoring you?
My Brother (mentioned his name)
Why your brother instead of your parents?
My dad is late, my brother has been sponsoring me since my secondary school days and I went to one of the best private universities in the country

What does he do?
He is an ICT engineer, a co-founder and an Executive Director in XYZ company. Also, He is a Director in XYZ (she typed and stared at her computer for some time and asked that I spell the 2nd company’s name, I did and we continued)
Have you ever applied to any other school in another country before?
(this I guess was because of my Canadian applications and denials – 2 actually…….i wasn’t expecting her to know or ask this though)
Yes I have an admission in Canada but my visa applications were denied so I decided to focus on another country with great academic reputation…..I also have 2 unconditional admissions in UK
Have you travelled out before?
No. I've not had a reason to.
At this point she then asked for my sponsor’s statement of account, placed it in the middle of my international passport, kept them aside and told me that she will be placing me on Administrative processing…..she then hands me a while sheet with AP ticked on it
I thanked her and left
***** I had to differ my admission with TAMUC till fall 2018, I received the i20 the beginning of June, sent it to the embassy and here we are……ISSUED
Thank you to everyone that ever posted transcripts, those that have been helping answer questions here since 1960 cool grin you all are amazing…..God Bless Us All

Sorry for the delay Madam but you need to recognize where your strengths in an interview are. You are an accountant already, so going for MSc in accounting is definitely a plus but you failed to see/take advantage of that.
The 2 most important questions to sell yourself/your future goal were the ones you performed so poor in.
I am no guru but my advice is go check the School's website and read more on what you stand to gain from studying your course, read up previous transcripts, find great answers for all possible questions asked during F1 visa interview, develop really great reasons for choosing your school/course, and practice more so your confidence may improve.
Though you didn't write GRE.....Take advantage of every other "thing" that can work in your favour ....your experience, family(home ties), future plan(maybe starting a business or occupying a top management position in some top Accounting firms... You can mention few when asked....) Just prepare better please. All the best

Gbemmy120:
I never lied that i applied to one school. The Canadian school i applied to was in 2017 and i didn't get visa for that. Anyways, I20 is the document your school sends with the admission letter once you apply!
I am almost sure you weren't delayed because of your Canadian application. Applying to more than one school is meant to be a good thing even if the 2nd wasn't in a US university. Maybe you didn't sound sure....maybe you were short on some other "stuff". Just don't let that trouble you....infact in your next interview, firmly acknowledge your 2017 admission (when asked), stating that visa was delayed.....and yes they see and know how many schools you have applied to especially if it's in Canada.
Hope this helps
