YoungIncredible:Why not request for any of the courier services here in Nigeria to do a pick up for you(thats if your school gives approval for pick ups) it's cheaper rather than using eshipglobal i no UPS charge 23k and it arrives within 4 working days |

haywhizzy21:Thanks and Amen!!! On the scholarship, I am still responsible for about $10,000 per annum after the GA stipend so the courses you mentioned are still better as you can get funding that would more than cover for all your expenses. On MBAs with good funding, check Carey in Arizona and UMass, armherst, your tuition is automatically waived if you are admitted. You can get full funding in Fisher College of Business, Ohio through what they call scholarship for Africa and in Haas, Berkeley through the master card foundation scholarship. So for the bright and determined, you can go to school in the US for almost free. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

I'm new to nairaland but I've been following this thread on and off for about a year now and I'm sure the information I've been able to gather so far will be invaluable. I'm finally ready to begin my admission journey and I'd like some "personalized" advice, if you will. Here's my profile: First degree: Pharmacy; 3.44/4 TOEFL: 112 GRE: 319 (Verbal: 166, Quant: 153, AW: 4) What are my chances of getting into a good to decent school in the US for a Master's degree degree in Pharmacology or a related course with full funding? The funding aspect is critical as I'm currently making peanuts doing my youth service and my family can't really afford to sponsor an MSc abroad. Would I be better off (with regards to funding) pursuing a direct entry PhD? I'd prefer the MSc because of the 2 year exit option if I decide academia isn't for me, but I'm open to either. Also, I'm considering retaking the GRE. Would my prospects be appreciably improved with a higher GRE score (Especially in the quantitative and AW sections)? Lastly, I'm finding the prospect of wading through dozens of American schools rather daunting and I'd appreciate any school suggestions anyone might have to facilitate things, as well as any tips on how to whittle down the selection. I really appreciate the work all the experienced posters have been putting in here to help us clueless newbies, lol. Thanks for all the help. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Good evening everyone, Please what is the easiest way to pay my tuition/fees (when I get there) from my account here in Nigeria? Considering FG's FX control measures in place. Current students in TAMUC, how did you guys settle your bills/transfer money from Nigeria especially for your 1st session there? @Senate111 @Adex0802 @bigfrancis - I'm not sure if you're a student there but you seem to know stuffs about TAMUC. kindly help @everyone with reliable ideas/info. Thank you 1 Like |

JanetDoe:First, your profile is good and since you are not considering Engineering, your quantitative score should be fine. Don't waste your time rewriting the GRE, your AW is decent too. Secondly, I will like to correct the impression that doing a PHd means you have to work in Academia, that impression might be true if you plan to go back to Nigeria but in America and other developed countries, you dont have to. Many companies are recruiting Phd holders and a Phd might also give you more opportunities to getting PR. Thirdly, you might find it hard to see anybody that will suggest schools to you because I feel like your course is not common on this thread, however you might want to talk to Imperiouxx, he might have one or two suggestions for you since his field is the closest to yours that I know of. The onus still falls on you to do an extensive research on schools you will like to apply to and schools that have more probability of getting funding at. You still have the time now because most schools won't open their portals for Fall 2019 application until September. Get to work, use linkedin to connect with international students and ask questions, make google your companion and you will be amazed with the kind of information you will get. You can have a mix of Msc and Phd applications. Check for your course ranking and peruse through the list one after the other, YOU HAVE THE TIME. Cheers 8 Likes 1 Share |

Good evening all, I am new to this platform and from what I’ve read this is an impressive online community. Kudos to you all. I however have an inquiry to make, recently I tried imputing my receipt number while trying to schedule an interview/appointment but it resulted in an interview waiver, which is contrary to what I paid for. I followed through all the questions prompted dutifully, and I’m surprised how this happened. Please is there anyone who may have experienced this or anyone who can hint on how this can be rectified? Thanks. |

myright: Is your appointment too close? If not, you don't need to cancel it. Simply fill out a new DS160/duplicate the old one and correct it, submit the new DS160 and update the confirmation number on your visa profile page. |

JanetDoe: You have good scores and a strong GPA. You do stand a good chance of admission. Since you're health inclined (and for others who are health-inclined), are you aware that a master's degree in rehabilitation science or in Physical Therapy (Doctor of Physical Therapy) could make you eligible for a green card under the Schedule A Occupation category (advanced nurses, Physical Therapists etc.)? Would you consider furthering your studies in the above instead? Green cards are available for people in this category due to a shortage of specialists in this category. http://www.utoledo.edu/hhs/pt/admissions_ptinfo.html http://www.utoledo.edu/hhs/master-of-public-health/prospective-students/admissions-intl.html http://www.utoledo.edu/graduate/prospectivestudents/admission/guidelines.html https://www.shihabimmigrationfirm.com/green-card-processing-for-physical-therapists.html 8 Likes 5 Shares |

Hello everyone, I was at the embassy this morning and I need to share my transcript eventhough I was placed on AP by the nice guy at Window10 or so... I was the 5th person to be attended to, overall. While I was the first to be attended to by the guy VO, he also uses earpiece too (cause i noticed someone said one VO use earpiece). Before I continue, let me use this opportunity to encourage those who are waiting for their interviews. Please let us all appreciate the value of this thread. if not, lots of us would have lost it in interviews. And in additional, someone on this thread has shared/warned us about these tout people at the car park arena, they have nothing to offer u except collecting ur money for unnecessary document arrangement and photocopies.....U don't need it, anything u need to arrange would be announced by the people working for the embassy when you are on screening queue. These touts even rent chairs for people to sit at the rate of 200naira, a friend who was waiting for me alerted me.. Pls let's take note... While on the queue, a fine lady came to separate us into two categories - Immigrant and Non-immigrant applicants. She announced - Bring out ur passport, DS-160 confirmation page, Appointment, Your i-20, GTBank receipt and Your SEVIS FEE (To be on safer side bring along ur 2x2 photo passport u might need it "I didn't use mine though" all these are the things u need and the embassy workers will tell you how to arrange it or what to do... Funny.... I was number 5 on queue and only 3 VOs are already on sit including our dear black aunty, mama blue paper at Window 7... Na so prayer start.. God u know i am in ur hand, give me not Window 7, i am black already let no blackwoman interview me here biko... My transcript VO at window 10 signal me to come VO: Good Morning Me: Good Morning sir VO: Yawning........... Me: How was your night ( as a sharp boy. pls note, I only asked because i saw him yawning...) VO: Aww great, Thanks ME: You are welcome VO: Pass me your passport and i-20 Me: I did...... VO: Where are you going to ? ME: I am going to University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne..... To study Msc in Engineering/Industrial Management focus on Technology Management VO: Oh ok... VO: Did you applied to any other school ME: Yes VO: Tell me the schools...... ME: Troy University, University of Dayton, University of Kent(Uk) and HECTOR School of Engineering and Management(Germany) VO: Admissions ? ME: They all gave me admission..... VO: Why Uni Illinois.... ( I be like ghenghen.... throughout, my courage was shaking but i stand firm...) ME: I chose uni illi because the MSTM is under the Gies Business School which means this program is strictly for business minded people, the department I am going into is the first business department that will introduced 3D printing lab throughout the world, they have a faculty mentorship program which will see all graduate students gaining more exposure, then Prof. YXYZ I am in contact with, he's on a 3D printing research, which i will like to be part of it, he's going to carry me along in his research group, do not forget our company here is into printing press and ICT...... VO was nodding....then .....he cuts in VO: What is your course duration...... ME: 12 months.... (Then I attacked him with course details) ----- This course required a minimum of 40 credit hours to graduate, and this fall semester starts in August to December..... The fall semester has about 9 modules which are spited into POT A and POT B, the POT A starts from Aug - Oct while the POT B starts from Oct - Dec... he cuts in.... VO: What will u do after this course.... ME: I will be coming back to my father’s land to improve our company with the Global exposure and technique received to explore our business further creating competitive ideas in technology and industry atmosphere. VO: Have u traveled in the last 5 years ME: Yes... I was studying in Bleep from 2010 - 2013 at University of East London ( Bleep Campus) then I have been to Singapore once, for a 3 days conference.........
