Think the early/mid 2000s to 2005/6 there was a Bird Flu scare in NGR. It caused a crash in chicken and turkey prices as no one wanted to buy them....for some weeks. 2003 was an earlier one, SARS virus, mainly localized in China. Then Mad Cow disease was predominantly in Europe....a bit later, circa 2008.

After Pa Fasoranti's daughter, Mrs Olakunrin, was k*&illed in a kidnapping episode gone wrong along the expressway around July 2019, SW people had had enough, and newly sworn-in gov. Seyi swung into action.
He came up, alongside then Ondo governor Akeredolu to start the SW Security Network - Amotekun. Then Acting AG Malami and the Abuja cabal of Buhari opposed them.
They went to court and in Jan/Feb 2020 they won.....and Amotekun started in Oyo, before Ondo commissioned theirs. Check google if it's not true.

The SW were very elated as against what you said. I remember all 6 governors of the region came together, took photographs, signed memo, etc. Only Lagos and Ogun states were very slow in enacting their own versions. BUT IT WAS A WELCOME DEVELOPMENT IN THE SW!!!

They're also still very active in Oyo, Osun and Ekiti states.

But what you said, if true concerning some religious people preaching against Amotekun is a big shame on those people.
Those are terrorist enablers and sponsors.
