Number 2 on the list is particularly of interest. Tenement Rate
Some jurisdiction calls it property tax. The LG can generate a substantial amount of their revenue from this. |

List of Taxes collected by Local Govt in Nigeria. We all know that the State Govt were interfering with the running and stifling the growth of the LG. Can the LG's survive on their own IGR?

Vision101: Forget the era of #30k for full tank. Subsidy is gone. Car ownership is not for the hungry. Everyone must learn cost management and work extra hard to make more money if you want to live comfortably.
Some places that I would have used my V6 car I use public transportation. Aba-PH-Aba using public transportation costs me 4k only. My V6 car would have gulped between 25k to 30k.
We must readjust. The old subsidized life is gone. Will our people listen to you? No. They will insult rather than reason with you as if insult will turn into free or cheap fuel. |

That's a waste of manpower. They can come up with a guideline that stipulates that the boards cannot be higher than 2 feet from the toe board (toe boards are usually about 4 inches or 100 mm height) |

Politics › Re: Governor Godwin Obaseki Has Lost His Local Government To The APC. by deji17: 10:45pm On Sep 22, 2024 |
Shattuck: some results are different, some polling units the number of votes is way more that number of accredited voters, but the electoral manipulation of result sheets I wasn't informed if the other party agents were present, over here now the state governor and the pdp accused Inec of denying their agent access to the collation centre, and according to them the law stipulates that collation ought to take place at each local govt but the Inec rec demanded that they all be brought to him. The results were a combination of things, vote buying, rugging, collation manipulation, party strongholds etc but by my perspectives the negatives influenced the outcome greatly. If the party agents were present and signed the results at Polling units, they will have a copy and they can cross check with what is on INEC IREV. Especially if it is a lot of polling units involved. Politicians makes all this unsubstantiated claims when they lose election. But the truth is in the details. |
Politics › Re: Governor Godwin Obaseki Has Lost His Local Government To The APC. by deji17: 8:09pm On Sep 22, 2024 |
Shattuck: I can't speak of all local govt what I know is that some inec adhoc staff where selected specifically, Inec collation officers were paid 100k each to alter result, I have a former neighbour who worked for Inec at ovia local govt, Apc paid that much to alter result at the collaction point, this is a first hand info, I have an ex classmate in auchi who also gave me update Apc buying vote 10k each. I can't speak of every polling unit, as far as who is more popular the apc has its notable politicians like oshiomhole and others but the election wasn't about party Asue was the popular choice for me as far as Benin metropolis is concerned, in social gathering it was Asue everyone was talking about, I know some Apc party members who even dey hail Asue's charisma and achievement. Look it was rigged, but how large was the rigging I can't tell. Is it with the collaboration of PDP and Labour party agents or they have a different result from what INEC posted on IREV? |
Politics › Re: Governor Godwin Obaseki Has Lost His Local Government To The APC. by deji17: 7:53pm On Sep 22, 2024 |
Shattuck: there were rigging oh, there where polling units where votes where more than the accredited voters on bvas, even in ovia lg collation officers where paid 100k to doctor results, look I am not a member of any party but massive rigging took place, if you aren't in Benin you would doubt it. Where is the evidence of your claim? Are you talking about 1 or 2 polling units or you have evidence of massive rigging? Is PDP more popular and acceptable than APC in Edo state? |
Politics › Re: Governor Godwin Obaseki Has Lost His Local Government To The APC. by deji17: 6:56pm On Sep 22, 2024 |
NaMe4: This was heavily rigged by the APC though.
Anyone privy to events last night knows what happened to this result and that of Ikpoba Okha which necessitated the trip by the governor to INEC head office.
With the political baggage Okpebholo carries, I hope Edos won't relive the effects of poor governance due to conflicts of interest of those who have 'invested' in the APC governorship. Asides that, Okpebholo na cool guy who wants to work for the Edos as he has done in his personal capacity in the past. How was it rigged? Did they change the figure at the poling units or polling unit result different from what is announced by INEC? Sore loser politicians will claim the election is rigged once the result did not favour them. |
