I had a chat with a stakeholder in the industry and he told me it will cost us #1.3m to convert a Toyota Corolla 2006 model.
I asked why so expensive, he said cost of importing the cylinder and other kits is high and Government is even collecting import duties on them.

Why should the government be geting duties on item used for conversation while trying to encourage people to switch over to CNG?

Also, the 40 % cheaper means instead of buying petrol at N1,000 a liter, one would have to cough out N600 to cover the same distance that 1 liter of petrol will cover.

It was a local return flight within Nigeria. I could not believe I've gone to Lagos from South East and back same day. This is a trip to that will normally take me days to make by road.

This is no good news. The state is better positioned to provide better care for the people. If its about money, lets create jobs through Agriculture, tourism etc , so that we can collect tax and generate more revenue to take care of things lile this.

Life is all about seedtime and harvest time. What you choose as your seed is your personal business. The lowest hanging fruit since the beginning of time is farming. You can choose other seeds in other ventures but that is up to you and your wisdom. When a society is at the lowest ebb, common sense dictates that feeding becomes priority and that means farming. If you choose to wait for mechanized farming, again that is your business but you could just find a space and take care of yourself and your family. If you produce more than needed, find buyers for your excess harvest. Life goes on, it's always been like that for generations.
