Are you normal? There was regional government system when Aguiyi Ironsi was killed. Ironsi merely took up some power from the regions to stop Arewa from imminent secession from Nigeria. Arewa never knew there was crude oil in the south then.

Oga see bring development statistics from 1950 till 1966 the Eastern region had progressed far ahead of the Western region. They were fastest growing region economically courtesy of M.I Okpara's policies and Zik's developmental programs.

If you believe your fallacy here, then you should be glad at the prospect of returning to regional govt. Two opposite sets of people can never be victims of lies. If the person being lied to is ignorant, the person telling the lies sure knows he is lying.

Let us talk about development, if there was a region that witnessed rapid development it was the Eastern region. We already had two power stations Afam and Oji River when you guys had only one. The only exception was the first radio and TV station. The East had the first indigenous degree awarding university in Nigeria(UNN) at a time when UI was still an affiliate campus for University College London. The best years was in the mid 50s when Awo introduced free education to battle with the high enrollment numbers that the south east had. The 60s was not the best for Western region because you all had crisis from 1962 which led to Awolowo being imprisoned, then the Western region crisis also was another issue.

I will not get into a rabbit hole argument about who was doing better or who was struggling with regional govt. It's waste of my time. My take is that regional govt is the way to go and the South West fared better then. And since the East was doing very well, then they should not have any problem with regional govt.

It will not. We practised it before 1966 and that was the best period for Nigeria especially the South West.
