Unfortunately, that will send a wrong signal to other would-be mutineers. The punishment for mutiny is death. I think the best he may get is a very long prison term. Very fair if you know the military. |

tosag: How do you expect them to be courageous and motivated when the enemy's weapon is more sophisticated than their's, when funds meant for their allowance are slashed by "big-bellied generals" in Abuja. It is statements like these that help in making our soldiers abandon their weapons and flee leaving the same 'substandard' weapons to BH. You obviously don't know how weapons are purchased in the Nigerian Army and that's why everyone is going on about Generals embezzling funds made for weapons. The guy in question ran away out of indiscipline and cowardice and not out of lack of any weapon abeg! |

Aarewa: HEEEE YAAAA,the man was sentenced to death because he gisagreed wt his corrupt boss to face BOKO HARAM,OOOOOH! what a pathetic story and situation. The excuses given by the man may be genue because.it was really comfirmed that Nigerian military lack new tech.weapons to fight BH,the weapons used were that of one used durin the civil war while BH fight with new tech.weapons.So,whose fault?the man or F.G or the boss, where is the effect of trillions of naira given to fight BH?Where is the effect of one billion dollars loan requested or granted GEJ to fight BH?Now they are sentensing soldiers to death upon the problem cause by their corruption.Chi!chi!!chi!!! GOD DEY OOOOOOOO Someone like you shouldn't speak when topics above you are being discussed. You just showed you know nothing about the military. The next is the rambling about how the weapon being used to prosecute the war against BH as being the ones used during the civil war. That shows you know nothing of this matter being discussed. Just scroll thru the messages and go to another topic. You must not 'contribute'. |

tosag: Dont mind the mumu. He's here running his mouth like a fool. Nobody is saying what those soldiers did was right but killing them would send out a very wrong message. There are ways of punishing them without this firing squad shi.t. You can go ahead and call someone a 'fool' on a matter you obviously know little about. However, you made a sensible statement when you said that killing them will send a very wrong message but you forgot that not doing anything will send a worse message. The army needed to put out a strong stand out there for people to know that they aren't joking. Besides, this story of not having weapons that will match that of BH is nonsense! The strongest weapon is courage and many of these soldiers lack it! |

kill them, and you will face a more dangerous disease than ebola I bet you won't join in ordinary peaceful demonstration talkless of a revolution. I can also bet that you won't think twice if you are given a mere N5m to sing the praises of this government now! Let's be practical here, the young man committed mutiny and got the punishment attached to it. |

easy4beno: I'm watching closely how people here have turned this solder into a laughing stock and little minds would think its the best thing to do to him, for crying out loud this is death we are talking about, fine he did what is not right and he's getting the supposed result of his action, but come to think of it, nobody has raised or talked about the reason for him disobeying orders. Ofcos its no news today that boko haram is well equipped much more than our soldiers, with that single point alone is enough to kill the morale of a soldier even before going to the battle front.
Also, Whoever is saying "who send am make e go join army"- I would like you to know that if its not for the bravery of these set of people there won't be a country called Nigeria where most of us wants a white collar job where we want to go to office in the morning and come back in the evening because a nation's defense lies in the strength of the Army.
In my own judgment I understand that the soldiers deserve what they got but I think they could have been given a very severe punishment for their offense instead of killing them like fowls. Nigerians should stop acting like hypocrites, its no news to everyone that these men do not have the necessary toys(weapons) to fight boko haram and the government is doing little or nothing about it, if we keep thinking like this, this country would only get worse..
I hope people can decipher the analysis from my point and I'm open to more suggestion and corrections..thank you! The punishment for treason is death and the punishment for mutiny is death. That is the law. Any other thing you say here is mere emotion. All you need to do right now to save this young man is to APPEAL TO THE EMOTION of the military and nothing else. Coming to facebook or Nairaland won't save him because the much we can do here is rant about how his superiors 'ate money' and all that but nothing will happen. He mutineed and that punishment is death. |

cramjones: In our meeting, all the governors wanted Amaechi as vice. We had settled for him when we left. However, Tinubu wanted to be the VP, but most people were opposed to it, at the end we decided to pick Prof, since Tinubu insisted on a South West candidate. We hope that Amaechi's role as campaign DG will win us at least 25% of votes from the SE and SS. Meanwhile, those that have to play their cards better in the Nigerian political space are the Igbos.
The Yoruba's have gotten more out of Nigeria that our SE brothers ! They play smart politics , choose when to ally with the center and when to oppose it smartly NOT based of prejudice and bigotry! This way , they gain while some other folks hold on to a frankly delusional dislike for another group and consistently outdo themselves! If you want to sink with GEJ an incompetent man because you want to use him to "deny" the North power, by all means do so, but remember that you also push power further away from yourself because YOU NEED ALLIANCES (even if it is with your perceived enemies) to ever get to power! When I look West or North, I don't see the SE forming any alliances , hence I can confidently conclude that they have miscalculated again! Would you guys go and hang yourselves in 2019 when PDP rotates power to the North and your much hated Hausa-fulani muslim northerner becomes president ? Would you then run to the SW and say let's oppose them? Tinubu is a brilliant politician , he probably distrusts the North more than you do, but he understand that ALLIANCES rather than bigotry is the route to power in a country with major ethnic groups and power blocks! Give or take power will certainly reach the SW AGAIN before the SE , bc APC or PDP understands that they need this block! Okorocha understands this, and I am sure many pragmatic Igbos felt proud of him when he mounted the podium at the APC convention to add an Igbo voice to what has become A NATIONAL CRY FOR CHANGE! you cannot as a result of unfounded bigotry hold the whole nation back! It is not a good reason to do so! Reminds me of the biblical "fake mother " who asked Solomon that the baby which was not hers be divided! ! This is what you guys did in 2011 and are doing now ! You will sacrifice Nigeria on the platter of bigotry and hatred if even it destroys you? How can you hate another , more than you love yourself ? I say rethink your motivations, I would respect whoever you choose to support as long as it is bc of his competence or lack of it , but to hate a pleural entity "Hausa-fulani muslim north? Is silly and won't get you anywhere!
-CramJones So all you are saying is that Ndi Igbo should vote for Buhari right? It's ok. Many will vote no doubt but I won't. |

In my opinion, i think asthmatic patients should minimize the use of inhaler to the barest degree; it can become addictive. Just listen to your body and take precautions; don't wait till you have a crisis.... I just decided not to do my nightly ventolin for some days and to my greatest surprise, I slept well for almost 2 weeks which was very unusual so you are right. I plan to do more of listening to my body as I wasn't really keen on having any inhaler after I was done with the initial one I was given at the hospital some couple of years ago. |

I was about crossing into my last trimester. The doctor gave me several intravenous injections bt I only got worse. He then queried my blood, result came out, I had senior and junior typhoid(high values) , malaria parasite, infections in the blood, low calcium, low blood volume coupled with d stress of pregnancy!! I was surprised wen I saw the result cause I wasn't really sick as in bed ridden and running a temperature, I just felt fatigued and I attributed it to 3rd trimester o! I was placed on a cocktail of injections and drugs o, special care being taken cos of the baby. I was also given an inhaler, I've attached the pictures. It's been over 3 weeks now and I feel great! So for me the trigger was internal. I haven't had need of the inhaler for about a week now, but I carry it with me just to be safe. This was exactly the first 'inhaler' I was given when I nearly died not knowing I was having an attack from Friday night to Monday morning when I couldn't even breathe. I beckoned on my younger brother to come with me in case I die driving as he was still learning. Got to the hospital and collapsed. The doc probably noticed how I was breathing in bursts and finished me with a cocktail of intravenous injection and for 4 days, I was hospitalized. During discharge, I was given that inhaler and some other drugs like ventolin, predisolone and others I couldn't recall. My worry is that my attack came as a full adult... |

Posted: December 12, 2013 - 00:15
caption: Mrs. Jonathan's cousin, Evans Bipi will lead the move again By SaharaReporters, New York
Following Tuesday’s Abuja High court judgement, five opponents of Governor Rotimi Amaechi in the Rivers House of Assembly have hatched a plot, to be put into play on Thursday, to commence his ‘impeachment.’
SaharaReporters’s sources say the plan involves the five legislators sitting Assembly beginning from Thursday, supported and led into the Assembly complex by the Police. They would also have their thugs, who are mostly former militants, in the Assembly chambers.
The five would then illegally declare vacant the seats of the other 25 legislators under the guise that the 25 pro-Amaechi legislators have moved to the All Progressive Congress.
Once that is done, they would then unconstitutionally move for the impeachment of Governor Amaechi.
