Both are correct. The scriptures are true, whether old or new.

But one thing you have to understand about spiritual expressions, especially in hebrew language is that it has more synonyms than english. So it can have different levels of the same word, which creates ambiguities when translated into english.

There are different levels of seeing, just as there are different levels of knowing.

If you ask three people, Do you know Janet? One will say yes I know her, she lives across our street. Another will say yes I know her, she's my very good friend. And another will say, Yes I know her, she's my wife.

Now, they all know Janet, but on three levels. One is casual knowing, one is close knowing and one is consummate knowing.

English language does not recognise these different levels, so it translates them as same thing, creating ambiquities with those who don't understand spiritual expressions.

Seeing God is in levels too, just as knowing Him.

There is a difference between seeing God in a vision, and seeing Him with your n.aked eye. Also, seeing the similitude of God (His image and outline) is different from seeing His face and His form. And this is also different from seeing Him as He truly is -at heart and in character (as n.aked)

Scripture is full and replete with all these different types of "seeing" God,which are not the same level spiritually. But english doesn't acknowledge this different levels and translates them as same, creating ambiquities.

This is why we all need more than just literacy to understand the bible and accurately DIVIDE the word of truth.

These are some scriptures

Numbers 12v6-8 -And He said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a VISION, and I will speak unto Him in a dream.

My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the SIMILITUDE of the Lord shall he behold.

Daniel 7v9 -I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment (FORM) was white as snow, and the hair of His head (FACE) like the pure wool.

There are more scriptures, but can't look them up now.

I believe in the context of which Jesus has SEEN the Father; no man has seen God in that way. We are going to spend the rest of eternity seeing and knowing Him that way.

i dn't stil undastand because that part of bible says they saw God and ate and drank and God did nt raise his hand upon them. Which means he appeared to them. However, u did nt provide any biblical prove that John 1:18 is talking abt seeing God spiritually. I really wana learn. I'm open minded.

I was pointing to contradiction between John 1:18(regarding d fact dat no one has eva seen God at any point in time) and exodus 24:11(regarding the nobles of Israel seeing God and yet God didn't raise his hand against them) to a JW. Bt it shocked me when he said that exodus 24:11 is a false teaching by the jews that what was said in John 1:18 is the right thing.

This has been shaking my faith in the Bible.

Any explanation to this,pls?

In a statement issued to journalists in Akure, the state capital, by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Omo’ba Abayomi Adesanya, on Sunday, said the party has noticed with keen interest the persistent boosting and body language of the Governor promising to win the state for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its Presidential candidate.Governor Olusegun MimikoSahara Reporters Media
“We have reasoned in all way as to what could have given Mr. Governor the confidence to keep making this promise, even when he already knew that the good people of Ondo State will neither vote for President Jonathan nor the Peoples Democratic Party again. It has, therefore, come to our notice that Governor Mimiko has no other plan than to rig the forthcoming general elections in totality.
"We have it on good authority, that even when President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan expressed worry about feelers from the Sunshine State, Governor Mimiko promptly assured the President that, he has joker of the people of Ondo State at hand. Our investigations have revealed that, a plan have been perfected in Abuja by Mimiko and other stalwarts of the PDP, whose names we will not fail to mention if they do not desist, on how to rig the coming elections. In fact, we have concluded plans to submit our findings to INEC and other law enforcement Agencies".
The party lampooned Mr. Mimiko for losing his popularity among the people of the state due to his unnecessary politicking adding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government has already failed and would be voted out for change in 2015.
"Elections have changed in Nigeria, and our people have become more enlightened, Mimiko has forgotten that he has lost his popularity among the people and you can only rig where you are popular. The PDP government has failed the people of Ondo State and Nigeria at large; the people can only yearn for a change and desire a new Nigeria”.
It also accused the governor of ruling the affairs of the state from Abuja and designating government functions to his Chief of Staff in his absence without minding the suffering people in the state go through as a result of its dwindling economy.
"In addition we are embarrassed that Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has totally taken the seat of governance from Alagbaka Government Office to Abuja. It is so sad that the government is on vacation in Ondo State, as many Commissioners no longer go to the office because "government business" is on holiday.
“In fact, a stranger in the state will wonder if the Chief of staff has taken over the mantle of leadership from the Governor, as he represents him in all important occasion in the State. Mimiko has abandoned the people of the State in this period when the economy is in a state of coma and people are languishing in pains”.
The statement further added: “To worsen it all three months workers salaries and allowances have not been paid, making it difficult for our Civil Servants to plan for the Christmas ahead. Once again, In Ondo state government has gone on holiday, and nothing is working anymore”.

I am about to make a very important decision and I would like to have your candid opinion on it. Its regarding my forthcoming wedding and me wanting to do my father the honor of walking me down the aisle or giving my hand out in marriage. We have had a very distant Father-Daughterrelationship due to the kind of torture he put my mother through while me and my brother were young and how the maltreatment affected my mother so much she developed hypertension and died when I was 14 and my brother 9.
From the much I know through my observations then and my findings now, my parents fell apart after my mum had an affair with the Chairman of my father's company while he was imprisoned over a fraud case he was involved in. He was the Chief Accountant of his multinational company and himself and other top executives used his office to steal money that ran into millions of dollars. He was arrested and locked up in prison. In a very confused state and with all hopes dashed, my mother was advised to go meet with his office Chairman who is one of these old dirty men that sleep with everything in skirt. She was pressured to sleep with him as the only way to get her husband out of the mess he was in as my father stood the chance of spending a long time in jail.
To save the idiot called my father, my mother succumbed to his pressures and slept with him. Within hours, my father was released but however lost his job. My mum decided to keep this as a secret she probably would die with but eventually, word got to my Father and he felt betrayed. In one of their quarrels, my mum told my dad she did it just to save him and get him back home as he was diabetic and could die in prison leaving her with two young children.
My father decided she was a miss fit for him and threw her out of his home and made us never see her again. He relocated us from Nigeria, burnt all her documents because according to him, he paid for her education. He got married again and then my brother and I faced the usual step mother torture. We never got to see our mother until she died in 2003 from hypertension and we were out of tradition allowed to go for her funeral. All these years I have kept my cool because I really needed to complete my education and now that I am done and have gotten a job, I want to shut him permanently out of my life.
A man that irrational cannot be close to me nor my family. Irony is that he is not remorseful after all these years. Still hauls all manner of insults on my late mother.
I feel like not giving him that opportunity to walk me down the aisle and cutting him off my life would teach him a great lesson. Is my action going to be in order or am I been too irrational?
Please I need your candid advice.

Mr. Frosbel i will like to say the path of knowledge search you have taken is not d right one. The bible isn't contradictory in any way. We are made to undastand that u need the Holy spirit to undastand the things of the spirit. 1 corinthians 2:13-14 says 13 These things we also speak, not with words taught by human wisdom, but with those taught by the spirit, as we combine spiritual matters with spiritual words.

14 But a physical man does not recieve the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know them, because they are examined spiritually.

So all those work of the Atheist professors are all human inference and undastandin and continuing in them will banish your belief in God and finally turns you to a full atheist; it starts frm a point.

All u need is incesant prayers and fasting, asking for Holy spirit to grant u undastanding of the bible by medidating in it.

Op, I was once in your shoes, by Jehovah's grace I overcomed.

You will need to take practical steps to deal with this
1. Stop desiring to have s3x. The bible says
"but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed" this means you are being tempted to masturb8 by your desire to have s3x. You can do this by staying away from movies/things that promote sexual behaviour, lingering kissing scenes, shows, books etc. This is increasingly hard in the world we live in today but our God is more than capable to help you. I personally had to stop reading books, even threads on nairaland... anything i felt would awaken a desires to have s3x in me.

2. Try to go out more. Involve yourself in church activities that take your time. Never spend too much time alone in your bedroom.

3. Whenever these urges come some ppl say they play christian music. Read their bibles at that moment. Start speaking in tongues and the urges go away.

4. Fast and pray regularly to kill your flesh.

5. Thank God for victory over besetting sins.

I understand how it feels to have this addiction of 'self servicing'...the guilt and the bad feelings that comes each time u fall to it again. Buh I must tell u dat u r not alone and you will surely overcome it since you are determined. God looks to the heart, and Him alone can help you out.

I used to be a victim too, infact I was ruled by it for over 10 years, I can remember the many promises and hope I gave to my slf to stop, as well as many prayers I offered, and if I stoped for one week....the next week...I'd fall again. One thing you got to undertand is that, getting a girl to bleep wnt solve it. From my expirience, I did too buh I still fall to it. I tried to exposed this animalistic act to my grl by telling her, I tot I would stop if I expose myslf buh I still didnt. I later realised dat I can't hlp myslf.

And this is how I was saved from this addfiction of many years, I'm sharing this with you to the Glory of God in Christ Jesus.... I was watching a popular Christian TV station online by a Nigerian ( I was in Mauritius for studies then) and I had jst performed d act and still down with the quilt...but yet I want and want to stop. When that man of God was praying, my prayer point was to stop this addiction and I pray along. And Yes! God have His way. That night, an amazing thing happened to me in my dream, I saw a pastor/a man of God laying his hand on me to deliver me, and in that dream I fell down due to d layin of d hand. Somethin surprising is dat, I neva Eva fall wen prayed for in real life before. So wen I fell in dat dream, I understand I was delivered and I was thanking that man of God with a big joy....and I was like....oohhh thank you for delivering me and then I wakeup...and I clame it.

Ever since then, this urge stoped, I can't explain it, I still av urge but I have aBiG control of it. I now see how easy it is to live above every addiction. It is just.by Grace. Grace from the living God. It's is so so easy and I don't have to wrestle with it. That is God and I am always thankful each time I remember.

So dear broda, good u desire to stop. That is the first step to getting free. Now u need God with ur genuine willingness. Dedicate more time to God's word and MEDITATE ON IT, Pray even more and u will see how easy to live above all dis weapon of the enemy.

He created us to have "dominion",in other words, we are supposed to rule the &on earth. Two kings can not rule d same territory. our going to heaven would only be for the marriage supper of the lamb after which we'll come back to rule here on earth, but this time a new earth without satan

heaven is real bt imaginary. It is real to those who believe in how the bible puts it. U can as well imagine it. Scientists cannot discover mystery of God, it only takes faith.

I want to know the criterias required to make the new earth. I'm sure it's not thesame as that of heaven. Bible scholars in the house should help.
