Op I disagree with you in some cases, you forget the main reasons why you find this products on koga and jumia is because they sell quickly because they are cheap. I have sold phones before and I can tell you Nigerian are friend's with chinko products. They leave the likes of Samsung and HTC and ask you for phones like malata, omata etc and you wonder how stupid they are. I believe OP was talking about quality? If Nokia has a very good brand that I can buy for #15k and it is solid and doing what it is built to do efgiciently and they have another I can buy for #150k with better options and all what not(which justifies the difference in price) and it is solid, if I can afford the #15k one and enjoy it well isn't it enough? Why should I spend the #15k and still find that it was just a box of shii?

Well, if traditional worshiper has something they must put on 24/7 then they should be allowed to use it too as long as it blends in with the uniform. If Moslem girls we're asking to wear Abaya or bourqua that would have been a different thing. Christian women can tie their headscarves too. Traditional religion peeps who want to can also wrap their hair. After all Moslem boys are not asking to wear their salat clothes to school. I believe Nigerians like quality and they would pay a bit more for it. Nigerians would not mind paying the extra if the product is worth it.
Other factors that I see influencing the trend is the govt fees and other expenses the country places on the manufactures for their goods to be allowed into the country. In the end, this affects the price or the quality. If they can't increase price uneccesarily then they reduce the quality to make it up.

The way I make mine
I soak the oats a bowl in some boiling water and cover the bowl for like 5-10 mins.
Then I blend it and transfer straight to an oiled pot. Stir it under low heat until it's cooked.
The soaking in hot water helps it cook faster and well.

Simple, first parboil your rice till it's half cooked or almost cooked
Then in another pot, heat up the pot, add your oil, tomato, onion, some Magi, Salt, and fry for a while. After that you add your rice and stair a little with a spoon to make sure all the sauce meets the rice.
Then add your stock(the water you used to steam your meat or fish) if you are not using stock add some water.
Then add your fish or meat and add some more spices, crayfish or salt to taste.
Then lower the heat and allow the rice cook.
Do not stir at this point
Add water as you go along. Do not over flood with water
