Its funny now when I talk about it but I literarily felt the seat give way under.

I'm going to write a relatively long post so you can understand where I'm coming from.
I'm scared cos I've had two really bad experiences while purchasing vehicles.
the first time was my uncle and family mechanic of over 10 years who advised me to buy from Cotonou. he took me there, we selected a car and came back only for him to deliver another car two weeks later. i almost fell out of that car two days later on the expressway. the worst part was that it was stolen a month after where i normally park it in front of my house.
after that experience, my friends advised me to go for a Nigerian used which i did. i'm still paying the price for that one.

Now i intend to buy a car (an SUV cos of the size of my family). my plan was to get a sienna probably 2000-2002 ish. however, i do not have enough funds available. having done a lot of research, i realized that the funds that i have could get me other car models like the KIA sedona or the Nissan quest (my wife feels the quest is not fine lol).

do you guys think the KIA sedona is a good choice? or is there another model that i can buy? I have around 900,000 - 1,000,000 available.

please anyone help me be third time "lucky".

As much as it hurts, one thing you have to guard against is becoming like them. this can happen if you keep dwelling on what they are doing to you. Let them be them, and you be you. Show kindness to them at every opportunity you get. They may not appreciate it, but keep being consistent. even if just for the sake of the two who stood by u. i'm sure they will come round someday.

I also went through something similar. they even accused me of being jealous and in their words, " sebi you now have a job, u want to bite the hands that fed u". i'm still trusting they would come round. but I've made up my mind not to let them change the good in me.

It's really no big deal if your wife knows how much you earn. my wife knows every kobo that comes in. Unfortunately, I was never good at saving but she's the expert at planning and saving. I would always go with my guts and buy things, but with her help, I am much better at the planning and saving stuff.

I also thought that borrowing was the only way I could get projects done. but with her involved in my finances, I've actually achieved more projects, and I'm actually debt free now. she truly is a blessing. if you have a blessing like that, there's no need to keep anything from her.

Afterall, she's the reason why I wake up at 6am and come back in at 8pm mon-fri.

i actually had the gasket changed by a mechanic sometime in march this year when the car had constant overheating issues.

could that be the reason?

I need advice on some issues i'm having with my car.
the car is a Volkswagen Passat auto drive (1999 model) and it's giving me serious issues.

first, anytime I put on the a/c, the car engine goes off. went to a mechanic and all he did was to increase the idle speed of the car. now if i'm not using the a/c, the rev is so high and I feel it contributes to a high fuel consumption (i'm not a car guru).

how do I resolve this issue so I can use the a/c at the idle speed that d car was originally (note: I had been using the a/c without issues for a long time)

secondly, I noticed that anytime d car is idle after some distance of driving, the water+coolant in my reservoir begins to boil and pour on the floor till its empty. I can't place any particular leak point. also, the thermometer does not indicate a rise in temperature but the engine hot indicator comes on after this.
it's really beginning to frustrate me.
