Insurance on the other hand is the most legal fraud in Nigeria, if you are in doubt, visit any high court in ur jurisdiction and ask for their case files, the second highest on the list is insurance claims after land dispute. The big questions any insurance agent need to answer are these;

1 why do we need to go to court to settle our insurance claims even when our premiums are paid regularly?
2 why do we need insurance brokers to mediate between the client and the insurance company if the insurance guys re not unscrupulous? Or do we need brokers to withdraw money from the bank?
3 when you are signing an insurance agreement in Nigeria, do you see the caveat where they say "Natural disasters" are not covered by comprehensive insurance premiums? Did you see the interpretation of Natural disasters? Well, i don't think so till you have an insurance case, if your insured car is parked close to a building that eventually catches fire and it affects your vehicle, most insurance companies classify it as natural disaster, no claim.

4, no insurance company in Nigeria insures ''mob-action'' and in their agreement, there was no interpretation for that in other words, they can call it anything, eg 4 kids playing football on the street is a mob to the insurance guys cos if they burst your wind shield, you are on ur own with ur comprehensive insurance.

5 If boko haram attacks close to ur residence and the shock wave of the explosion affects your car and it is established that the attackers are more than one, insurance calls it "mob action", therefore no claim.

6 thieves without guns are "Mobs" in the Nigerian insurance books so no claim.

When you use a good broker, the insurance will pay not because of you but to maintain the good will and customer base of the broker, even at that, the criteria is still terrible, for a venture that charges between 8 to 10% of your car's worth annually.

From my experience so far, insurance against theft, devaluation of assets to pay lower claims has never been as reassuring as the most sought reprieve.
This is the most incredible write-up I have come across in 2020. So much gibberish all in one place. Waste of education.

ComeAndobo:
No. Though I'm not a republican but Electoral college is one of the checks and balances needed.

Imagine we have electoral college in Nigeria. Kaduna, Kano and katsina will have a fixed number of electoral college votes even if they continue to use under age kids and encouraging overpopulation dey born like rabbit.

With popular votes, the Northern political house will continue. That's their strategy. Popular votes.

Infact Maybe local government can be our own electoral college. Lagos has 37. Katsina has 34. Make we dey count am like that.
Seriously, Lagos and Kano has 37 and 34 LGA respectively huh

When you don't even know the facts in your own country, how do you then contribute to discussion meaningfully or make informed decisions (the foundation is already faulty!).

Knowledge is power.

Thanks for your response. I did go to my bank today and they told me I can't make international wire transfers from a personal bank account to a business account abroad. I guess that's another bottleneck.
This is not true with all banks, I still transferred from my personal bank account to Copart USA on Friday.

MaryJane24:
About $150
Perhaps the amount is too small though (I am not sure).

Can you get the foreign company to split the $150 in two for you, so you can use your MasterCard and/or Visa bank card to pay online (knowing $100 limit per month per card).

MaryJane24:
Of course they do. But My point is you can't make online transfers without using your bank directly. I'm talking about forex platforms like transferwise.com and worldremit.com.
MaryJane24:
I just realized that all the foreign currency transfer companies do not serve senders from Nigeria to the overseas. What could be the cause of this? I've always been receiving money from abroad but I had no idea I couldn't do it from here unless I go to the bank. Who knows if Nigerian banks will even let somebody send money abroad? I wanted to avoid going straight to the bank because I expect they'll charge exorbitant fees. I want to buy something from a US company that only accepts wire transfers only to find out that companies like Transfer Wise, World Remit, XE, etc. do not transfer from Nigeria to the USA. Any advice for me?
1. From the bolded, it shows your question/point is ambiguous.
2. Just so you know, those platforms you mentioned are not fully licensed by CBN hence they might not be able to provide such service.
3. Furthermore, all Nigeria commercial banks offer online FX wire transfers (if that's your concern).

On a final note, always ensure to put out your statement, points and/or enquiries clearly.

Hello my very informed vehicle enthusiasts . Please what would make the top of a vehicle's engine look like this?

@gazzuz @seun
It is common, very common in 2010 and 2011 Toyota Camry engine as 99.9% of them comes that way.

Most importantly, it is not a problem or any indication of a problem so you are good-to-go.

okefranci:
definitely
IKUBABAYEYE001:
Yes it will, Next Question??
Zeesugar:
It will reduce it with time and off course if the port users and officials are willing to follow due process and cooperative in their activities. You don't expect Osinbajo to monitor or carryout their duties for them.
It just requires integrity on their path
Any manual/SOP without sanctions to erring govt agency personnel is just rhetorics!

For instance, how can Customs inspect consignment whilst inside the Port, give a pass mark to be cleared and same Customs would also stop the same consignment at either the Port Exit Gate, or on the highway, or at warehouses and claim it was either undervalued, or illegal, or contraband or whatever.

Meanwhile, no sanctions to the customs officials that physically inspected and authorized the release of the consignment initially (connived) with the importer and/or agent.

Another example is the recklessness of shipping and terminal operators especially Sallaum, Five Star Logistics, Grimaldi etc on RoRo vehicles. These companies collects exorbitant fees but can not secure goods in their care. Vehicles parts are vandalized, damaged by their ad-hoc staff making importers lose millions. They never pay compensation to anyone. These companies are majorly international companies and can not try such in their respective home countries but, of cos, Nigeria is a country of anything goes. Several petitions to NPA, NCCPC formerly CPC are never attended to.

I will stop at both examples for now.
