Hello guys, i just bought this MERCEDES BENZ just last week from a banker that is relocating from Lagos. The car is still very clean and come with an Abuja Plate Number. We concluded the whole Transaction without issues. All documents have been changed to my name and he never talked about the plate number. Just last night, he called me that he has bought a new car and he would need the plate number and i should please help him waybill it to Port Harcourt where he now resides. I haven't really given him a final reply, i told him i will get back to him. My question now is, does he have the right to collect the plate number after concluding the sales of the car without him mentioning it? Am i to actually register another plate number to this car? I'm asking cos i have never bought a Nigeria used car before. My Toyota Camry that i was using before was bought as a Tokumbo and i registered everything myself. Forgive my ignorance and educate me on this issue as a novice so i can know the next step to take. Below is the picture of the car with the plate number on it. Thank you

Are you sure all the vehicle documents changed to your name? Please be aware a vehicle registration number is tied to the name of the original owner and not changeable.

The seller should not have even given you all the vehicle documents in the first instance, a buyer is only entitled to few documents so he/she can go get a completely new number and papers for the car while the seller keeps and continue to use the old plates on any vehicle he gets later in his name.

I believe whomever did the so-called change of vehicle documents to your name must have either deceived you or committed an illegality to get it done, if its even done!

Please return the plates (proof of ownership and allocation of number plate) to the owner.

1. National Assembly members remuneration (and dissolution of one of the chambers).
2. Ensuring LGA allocation is received directly by duly elected LGA chairs not state governors (note also not caretaker chairmen).
3. Cancellation of the ridiculous Pension package for any elected office holder, 'serving' for 4 or 8yrs should not get any pension not to talk of the alarming package they signed for themselves.

PS: I was saddened watching the budget presentation and seeing Buhari, mischievously, repeating item F (NASS budget) of the Budget more than 3 times mockingly, while majority of the lawmakers cheered in joy! N128bn for 102 senators and 360 Honourables!!

Compare to N35bn to Healthcare in the same budget for instance.

I hope #EndSARS will not die and metamorphosis into a more serious youth pressure group to ask and protest for critical matters affecting us and growth we desire.

I finally drove the car last night after the gearbox was replaced. The error symbol on the dashboard which appeared when the problem started last week Thursday has disappeared, even before the engine was turned on.

The only difference I noticed was that the transitioning of gear is very noticeable. When it changes from one to the other gear, any observant person can feel it, although there is no thumping or jerking, just a push accompanied with an increased rev. I was told by my friends that this was normal and the engine will correct itself gradually.

I hope they are right.

I am not a mechanic so don't take my word completely but I strongly suspect they blocked the error symbol to deceive you because all error symbols in all vehicles should show before engine fully turned on.

An unknown number called my line this afternoon and claimed he credited my phone with N500 last night, and that I should send the credit back. I checked my messages and true there was a N500 VTU credit from about 10 pm yesterday. I did not notice because I always use special plans like extra talk, in which I credit once a month. I also always credit my account directly from my bank account, and have not physically bought credits for over 2 years.

I honestly don't know the implications of sending credits to an unknown number using one of the banking platforms - apps or USD code. If the guys disturbs me too much, I will just go and buy N500 credit and send the code.

Has anyone had similar experience of someone claiming to send credit to your phone by mistake and ask you to send it back?
