Biafrans Protest In Port Harcourt Biafran-flag waving protesters stormed the streets of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, southern Nigeria, over the continuous detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the director of the pirate radio, Radio Biafra. BY PM NEWS, LAGOS OCT 20, 2015 Biafran-flag waving protesters stormed the streets of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, southern Nigeria, over the continuous detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the director of the pirate radio, Radio Biafra. Biafrans in Port Harcourt protesting arrest of Radio Biafra executive, Nnamdi Kanu The protest paralysed commercial activities in the oil rich-city as the procession made its way towards the Government House. Kanu was arrested on Saturday at a hotel in Lagos. He was scheduled to travel to London. Kanu’s lawyer, Egechukwu Obetta says that kanu has been granted bail. But the founder of the Indigenous People of Biafra is being held as he is yet to fulfil his bail term of N2million and a surety in like sum, who must be a civil servant on Grade level 16. His arrest had provoked criticisms from his group and the Movement for the Actualisation of Biafra, MASSOB. Obetta lamented the treatment given to his client while in custody, saying that he was put in the same cell with terrorists despite his life threatening health challenges. According to Obetta, Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is selective to delicacies, adding that he (Kanu) vowed never to eat any food served by the Federal Government of Nigeria. # http://saharareporters.com/2015/10/20/biafrans-protest-port-harcourt |

Women protest Kanu’s arrest, demand his release
October 20, 2015 at 2:32 pm
By Festus Ahon & Ochuko Akuopha
ASABA-PROTESTERS, Tuesday, stormed the
entrance of Delta State Government House, Asaba
condemning the arrest and detention of the
Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.
Gathered under the aegis of Indigenous People of
Biafra, IPOB, Delta State chapter, the protesters,
mainly women, demanded the immediate release
of Kanu, describing his arrest as uncalled for and
totally unacceptable.

Protest over the Arrest of the Director of Radio
Biafra Tuesdaay along Ikwerre road in Port
Harcourt, Rivers State. Photo: Nwankpa Chijioke
Chanting songs of grievances and displaying
placards which bore various inscriptions such as
“Freedom for Biafra, free Nnamdi Kanu”, “We are
not terrorists, we are freedom fighters”, “We are
tired of intimidation and harassment by Nigeria
Government”, “Biafra on the move” amongst
others, the protesters said they were no longer
comfortable with the Nigerian government.
Speaking during the protest, Secretary of IPOB,
Delta State chapter Nnenna Nwaoha, said: “The
reason for the protest is for Nnamdi Kanu to be
released; we have suffered enough in the hands of
the Nigerian Government and we are no more
comfortable with it.
“We want our freedom that is why we are here.
We are not comfortable with the Nigerian
government, the intimidation, killing and all that;
that is why we want our freedom. We feel very
bad about his detention and it is affecting each
and every one of us. We are not comfortable, we
want to go.
“The federal government should release our
Director, Dr. Nnamdi Kanu and we also want our
freedom. As a nation that is due for freedom, we
want to go; we are tired; the suffering is too
much; it is not a crime to want our freedom; we
want to go.”
Also speaking, Chineye Udeoba expressed
bitterness at the detention of Kanu, saying “we
are bitter and we are giving them a strict warning
and order to release him.
“We are not Nigerians, we are Biafrans. My father
is seventy-two years old and he is older than
Nigeria. He is a Biafrian, I am a Biafran and we
all here are Biafrans. We the indigenous people of
Biafra are ready to go. We want to be on our
own.
“The British came and amalgamated us with
these Oduduwa and Arewa people, we are not
one; we were never one, we are totally different in
terms of tradition; we are Biafrans. We want to be
on our own as indigenous people of Biafra. We
want our freedom.
On her part, Mrs. Judith Ihebiehi said: “This man
is our voice, he is our mentor. We have been in
darkness all these while, so this man has been
speaking for us, so the Nigerian government has
no right to detain him; he has done nothing.
“Have they ever asked themselves if what this
man has been saying is false? Have they
bothered to verify what Nnamdi Kanu has been
saying? So detaining Nnamdi Kanu will bring
problems; we have been calming our husbands
down, we have been saying ‘wait’ we women will
go to the government, we will talk to them and
say this is what we want; we don’t want problem
that is why we are here.
“Our reason of coming here is to tell the Governor
Ifeanyi Okowa to help us take our message to the
federal government. He is not the one detaining
him but we are here to tell him to take it to
Abuja.” The protesters were however, denied
entry into the Government House by police

naijapips02: I bet you didn't know that Radio biafra and supporters wrote 3 open Letters addressing The 'Terrorist and Pedophile ' as 'HIS EXCELLENCY ' -
One of The Lawyers Representing Him in This Case is a Yoruba man with an Hausa mother.
The first Newspaper to report His case is Vanguard, a Yoruba Newspaper.
The first high profile individual to demand for his release is Fani Kayode, a yoruba man.
The First person to publicly deny him is his fellow biafran freedom fighter.
Throughout his detention, not ONE protest was ever carried out by his group.
And lastly, He would be arraigned next week and His bail might be withdrawn If is involved in any other illegal activities. boy you really HV a big problem. I never even knew you exist on naira land until dis recent Biafra tin started since few days all your post and comment focus is on Biafra and Nnamdi KANU. hmm. Chiwude: Ijaws are like bees and honey. They become your friend when they need your help, but discard you as soon as you lose relevance. The Ijaws have no permanent friend and no permanent enemy. They always want to remain in the centre at every means possible. Any wonder why they were the greatest ally of the north from the sixties till now. Ijaw leaders like Edwin Clark and others are good example. Igbos on the other hand are loyal to a fault. Just show them a little affection and they are ready to champion your cause. The typical Igboman is a free thinker and independent minded. They hate no one but only those who hate them. Igbos since the exit of Zik, are yet to understand how politics of interest is played in Nigeria. Many are not even bordered about this. But will you blame them? Not for once. dinachi. did you just created another fake account. you no go go chop your Amala and ewedu?. kip deceiving yourself. you will still created another thread when Biafra start making another strong wave |

QuotaSystem: Obailala is an Igbo man, but a patriotic one who is not given to childish sentiments from what I have observed.
He does not subscribe to the 'playing victim' and 'igbo supremacy' school of thought, hence the misguided ones always question his identity.
It is not surprising though, Professor Osuji has researched and explained this defence mechanism by such individuals.
What the man gave up there was the truth which was obviously too hot for Vulu to handle. kip deceiving yourself. DAT criminal called Obailala is not an Igbo man |

The law stipulates that you grant an accused a bail sentence within 72Hrs and that's what DSS just did.
But is the case over? Far from it. He would be have to appear in court and answer to his crimes.
If he ever leaves Nigeria, He would be jumping bail and would be rearrested.
Just like Boko Haram members before him, there's nothing really to celebrate.
This is purely a master stroke to deflect the attention of the media from his travails. The case has just begun. lols. so you this idiot still get mouth |

What was he expecting? that he will be left alone or when he is arrested, people will march to the streets? This is Nigeria, people have more pressing needs than to die for you.
and for FFK, it is hard to imagine that he is actually a lawyer from a family of great lawyers. TonyeBarcanista: I am a strong advocate of right to self determination. However, self-determination is not an excuse for inciting people against the State and others. It is not acceptable anywhere to call for violence. It is unfortunate but Nnamdi Kanu not only broke the law but has made himself by his action a stumbling block to the right to the Biafran struggle for believers of this struggle.
I will strongly advise that patriotic youths consider the noble option that is provided in the UN charter IF they insist on secession. Personally, I believe in equity and justice whether within the political and geographical Nigeria or otherwise. The way and manner Nnamdi Kanu carried his struggle is unacceptable in any sane society. Nigeria is not a zoo [i]I will advice you to go and read this Book. then you will Understand that KANU have not done half of what Mandela did.
