Currently 1USD is going for 172 naira, and it looks likely to fall greater. I predict USD to enter 200 naira by the week preceeding elections. CBN will not be able to buy back Naira's powers anymore and as usual, they will throw the blames on the common man. Common man who was not aware that our income from oil hit the rooftop over the last 16 years of PDP.

My painful expectation also. With the coming elections and Jonathan precedence as regards spending recklessly during this period, the naira simply can't escape it. It's doomed to fall.
Anyone with stash of dollars currently should wait a bit and see the value of ur dollars appreciate against the naira.
Honestly, Jonathan is a curse to the Nigerian Nation.

I like this guy...that being said, lets get back to business.

The financial crises didn't affect the government directly, the election did.
Because at at 2011 the price of crude oil was hovering above $100 per barrel.

http://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.cfm?id=4550

This means the high cost of crude at $100 is higher than the 2011 budget benchmark of $62per barrel which means and i quote:

http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/protecting-nigeria-s-revenue-through-crude-oil-hedging/120055/

The Nigerian economy depends solely on crude, so how did high income from crude have a negative effect on the external reserve, thereby leading to regression instead of appreciation?

That being said, how did the financial crunch affect the government that was making unprecedented earnings in crude oil sales? The simple answer is it didn't.

I stated the above bolded earlier. During election time, Jonathan succk money like anything. Our reserves went down then because he needed money to pay killer delegates and fund his election. The same cycle about repeating itself.
This curse must go.

Fool, legality of military regimes is inconsequential during those years because they were common govt all over the world accepts them unlike what we have these current years. As at then, they were acceptable.
That was the norm especially in Africa.
Does that mean i currently support military regime? Of cos not.

PoliticsRe: External Reserve And Debt Under Obasanjo, Yaradua And Jonathan Administrations by Demdem(m): 11:14am On Nov 07, 2014
The truth is Jonathan has been using our reserves for settlement. the fool has been sharing money since his bayelsa days and have exported this criminal act to the fg. During his primaries years ago, we know how much the fool spent on delegates. Where did the fisherman source the money from if not from reserves. The same period when reserves are going down. Only a fool will believe it's to make the naira strong.
Now, the states are complaining that there is no money but fg not complaining that no buyers for our oil. Elections are near and the kaikai drunkard needs as much as possible to throw around.
We know how these things work around here.
Only a bastard will ask me for a link.

No because I believe he has no business contesting in a democratic government. He overthrew a democratic government, he hated democracy, therefore shouldn't partake in one... have I answered your question?

Again, this reason is also a foolish one.
Those that "loved " democracy, how have we performed under them.
Ask ur fathers, Shagari was a mess and the people were tired. u aren't more Nigerian than him.
He has every right to contest and if he hates democracy he won't keep going to law court anytime he is being robbed.

And for your mind Glo, MTN, Econet management were NOT talking to each other when Glo entered the market and started the price war that ultimately benefited consumers huh
In fact when they meet at social and industry events they carefully avoid each other to avoid any discussion on their respective companies shocked
An real wa for ways oh!

Stop acting silly, u are more intelligent than this. Discussions as regards having a common price for their products as the cement cartels are now propposing and not the one u are implying. Even if it was discussed, it didn't work neither was it implemented. Each of them was beating one another to its game and consumers were better for it.
It was foolish on ur part to compare the telecoms competition to the current cement "cartelism "
Both are obviously different.

The drunkard can shove his security back into his throat. Tambuwal remains the speaker, that is all that matter.

Office of first lady should be scrapped. Some governors have done it. I see Buhari doing the same.
Her duties should include primarily continue to take care of the General so that he will be able to outlive his haters.

So YOUR problem, well defined, is that you THINK that these cement "cartels" must have "sat down" to reduce prices.
Does that sound REASONABLE even to yourself huh

And how did you know that Glo, MTN, Econet did not sit down to "jointly agree" on reducing price? Okay, I get it, since they did not invite you to witness their sitting down to decide their prices (the way Dangote & BUA invited you this time around) then it did not happen grin
What a genius you are shocked
U talk like a kid born just yesterday. Ask ur elders, they will tell you what transpired. We knew what mtn was selling it's stuff before glo came into the picture. Infact mtn told us per second billing was impossible till glo made it happen which led mtn to urgently bring down its price.
With such a scenario, how could they have agreed when every one was working in securing the huge consumer base. It's stuppid to think they sat together to decide such. Price falling was on a weekly basis with different promos geared towards attracting consumers.
On the contrary, based on the opening post, it's obvious these cement cartels are talking to each other as regards prices of cement.
We also have fuel cartels before the subsidy debacle where these criminals do as they deem fit for their benefits to the detriment of the masses.
Again, ask ur elders about the telecoms competition, u surely don't know anything about it.

U earlier referred to competition between the telecoms that invariably brought down the price? Can u compare that competition to this so called "competition" or cooperation as one can call it?
When did glo, mtn, econet sit down and jointly agrees on price the way these cement cartels are agreeing on price?
