A friend posted the below letter to General Buhari on his facebook timeline yesterday. I hope he gets to read it:

Dear General Buhari,

The Presidential election holds tomorrow, March 28th. I will be voting for you at the election, as millions of Nigerians will do also. But just in case you win, I need you to understand a few things:

1) We're voting for you because we believe you're a better leader, able to make tough decisions quickly, choose your inner circle wisely and ensure discipline within your ranks. Please don't disappoint us.

2) Jonathan lost my vote because he was a weak leader, not because he had done nothing. Please be careful to ensure that good programmes started by his govt are improved upon and completed by your own govt, not killed. I read (as a teenager) of how you killed the Lagos metroline project started by Gov. Jakande. Pls do not repeat such behaviour.

3) Your decision to avoid all debates smacked of arrogance to me. Please remember that as President, you will be answerable to the citizens, however unruly, rude, insulting, unreasonable or uninformed we are. You must learn patience and humility.

4) You have promised to set a personal example. We need you to do that, in honesty and integrity, in simplicity, in hardwork and in accountability. WE WILL NOT FORGET THAT PROMISE!

5) I do not trust your party . Even with all the smooth talk, many members of your party have corrrupt histories. We will expect you to deal decisively with any officials of your govt. or members of your party who exhibit corrupt behaviour.

6) Be ready to turn an unwieldy monster into a fighting machine. Its called the civil service. Get ready for a long and complex battle. If you dont fight this battle (and early too) you're likely to fail as President.

Lastly, you may not win the election (fairly or because you were rigged out). Painful as it sounds, you will have to go to court again if you feel unsatisfied. Pls dont give in to the temptation to encourage or order violence.

AFTER spending about nine days in the kidnappers den, the Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger Delta, (Anglican Communion), Most Reverend Ignatius Kattey, was finally released by his captors on Saturday.

Sources said Archbishop Kattey walked home alone after he regained his freedom from the unknown gunmen who abducted him last week Friday.

It was gathered that the cleric, who is also the Dean, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, was in good health condition when he reunited with members of his family.

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Angela Agabe, who confirmed that Kattey had regained his freedom, told SUNDAY PUNCH that the cleric was rescued by the police and other security forces.

“He (Archbishop Kattey) was rescued around 7:30pm today (Saturday). The police and other security forces have been on it for some time now, but this night, the police eventually rescued him,” Agabe said.

Kattey and his wife, Beatrice, were on the night of Friday September 6, at Aleto in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State on his way to Port Harcourt at about 10:30pm.

While his wife was later abandoned, Kattey, second in hierarchy to the Primate of the Anglican Church Nigeria, was taken to an unknown destination.

In response, President Goodluck Jonathan had promised that the Federal Government would do everything possible to ensure his release.

This story begs the question... If the Police rescued him, how come he had to walk home alone? The police didnt just claim to have made efforts, they claimed to have RESCUED him. The Bishop cannot be blamed if he is furious with the NPF over their claims.

Yeah, but that's too far/early at this stage in my opinion. You appeal after you reach a deadlock. He hasn't even had any meeting the officers.

He should write to them immediately contesting the assessment as any assessment notice is deemed to be final and conclusive if it is not contested within 30 days of the receipt of such notice. After then, his appeal is baseless.

If he has just registered his coy, he needs to prove it with his certificate of incorporation or any evidence that can show that he just started operations such as rent agreement. Moreover, he needs to clarify if they're asking him for his VAT returns as the letter would clearly spell it out.

Why not ApprenticeNigeria? Or don't you think we have more than enough unemployed and unsatisfied world class graduates in Nigeria? I think BankPHB is doing great but trying to promote their brand throughout the African continent using this idea.
