gbemisolaw:

Thank you sir,
Pls can u recommend any college than run the program?
I av searched internet but never get any college that run PGD in chemical engineering.

I don't know any college at the moment that offers PGD in chemical engineering but I know some colleges that offer Advanced Diploma in Chemical engineering tech. look at Mohawk College (Chemical Engineering Tech, Advance diploma Program) and Lambton College (Chemical Production & Power Engineering Technology )

Pls I came out with third class in chemical engineering here in Nigeria and I want to further in Canada university; how possible?

It is possible to further your education in a Canadian University but the only thing I know you can do first is to apply to a university in Canada to upgrade because you cant really do much with a third class. Now getting admission to upgrade is not an easy task as well because there is always competition for limited spots and admission is not guaranteed. The other option you have is to look at doing an advanced diploma program or a pgd at a Canadian college because some colleges accept third class.

New immigration rules to be in effect from January 2015. Now I dunno if this rule is gonna have any direct effect on study permits but I know it affects it indirectly and positively too i.e. for those that are hoping to get the permanent resident under the Canadian Experience Class. Good luck to every one waiting patiently for their study permits to be approved. I pray you all get it.. cheers

Mcmaster is a recognized institution by CIC but it is a very expensive school. It costs about $98,000 for international students to study medicine in that school.
BaaleofMontreal:

I can't really say for McMaster university,if its one of the designated institution recognized by cic, then you're good to go but the school might also give you same reply as Concordia. I can only advice you to go for pgd first then proceed to masters, it will be very hard to get a masters with the CGPA you have.

DFodio: Note that if you are using a Nigerian Mastercard on any ATM machine in Canny. The canny bank will charge you 2 dollars while the bank back home also collect theirs. GT collects about 420 naira. I use Stanbic IBTC and I was also charged 420 naira. Though there is a a particular bank that won't charge the 2 dollars. Try TD Canada ATM. Only the 420 will be charged and you are good to go.
Even TD charges as well. Just because they don't state it on the machine that you're gonna be charged for the transaction doesn't mean you're not being charged for it. The best ATM to use are the ones from a convenience store because they only charge $1.25. It is better you use such ATM if you're making a withdrawal less than $400. If you're withdrawing up to $900 then TD or any other bank is fine

ChriGo: ....Hahahaha!!!....Demoah my man....wetin Lambton boys do you ngwanu...gist me biko....You dey Sarnia?....
Chrigo, howdy? I'm not in Sarnia ooo. Some Lambton boys messed up after the last time I visited. There was a particular guy that was insulting my friend for not buying his books. Another started selling the gala sausage that a fresh student brought from Nigeria. They where talking trash about me after I left that I'm too proud because I had two neck chains on. I can keep going on and on. No disrespect to you Chrigo but some guys in your school are just full of crap. That aside, how was your summer? smiley

Lonewolf001: ok tanx i'll check them out. ar u studying dere already

you can check University of Ottawa, MUN, University of York, University of Manitoba etc

I think you should forget Mcmaster for now. I wonder why you wanna go there anyways because it is one of the most expensive schools in Canada. I would suggest you look at university of Windsor, Brock university, University of Waterloo and University of Newbrunswick.

Well it all depends on if all the factors responsible for getting the admission and visa have been met.

Thanks bro...whats the normal processing time for a student visa? and what im really trying to say is all things being equal now that the ASUU strike is gonna be called off next week,he should graduate by April. Now the question is when can he start applying for a graduate program that will start by Sept/Oct?
If it is a PGD at a college and he wants to start by Sept(fall semester), he can apply for the program immediately he graduates in April provided he has all the requirements needed for the program within his reach. If it is for a graduate program like a masters degree at a university, he can equally start his application but he cant resume in Sept of the same year. You need more time for application into a masters degree program

Fhemmmy:

But i have heard that they are the best bank in Nigeria . . .
Best bank? I hear people say that too. Its just the exchange rate that makes me sick. Imagine making a transaction of about 7k CAD with the GTB mastercard. Some naira will be lost to their exchange rate
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by demoah(m): 6:30pm On Dec 11, 2013
Fhemmmy:

If you are so sure about this, why not bring it up with GT Bank?
Well I have complained in the past about their exchange rates all to no avail.

ChriGo: ....Have you witnessed any deportee so far on dis refund issue?.....
No i haven't but it almost happened to my friend. He completed a year PGD program in International business mgt and he decided to enroll for another Program in a bid to make it 2yrs altogether. He paid for the new program and he was expecting the school to cut him some slack in the courses he would be taking. The school refused, he got a better offer at Niagara college and decided to collect his money from my school so as to pay Niagara. He got into a heated argument with the office and the office thought he just got into Canada and was trying to pull a fast one on them and the staff that was attending to him said "Then we would have to call Canadian Immigration before we can think about refunding your tuition" and was already picking up the phone. That was when he explained to them that he had already completed the program that brought him to Canada and the tuition he was demanding was for the second program. They still didn't give the cash to him, they asked for his new school and transfered the money to Niagara College.

ChriGo: .....deport gini?....schools have refund policies ....and one of it is if u gain admission to other school u can get a refund of ur fees or ur tuition will be transferred to the other school's account .....
@Nasdaq is right. Trust me they will gladly deport you. Yes schools have refund policy but some Nigerians have abused the policy. They get here, demand their money and claim they wanna go to another school only for them to start living large with the money and not attend any school. If you truly have another school, I will advice this guy to get the admission letter, present the letter to his former school and request they transfer his tuition to the new school. Be warned! your school will never give you your tuition once you get to CA. they can only transfer it to your new school of choice. If you try to act funny, they will call immigration and its the last time you will see Canada.

Basically this people need to know your sponsor has steady income and the persons projected annual income.
Including investments in the country not necessarily physical cash.

I guess so. I had nothing in the account when i applied. I just submitted a paper with figures but the account had been emptied. Although i had paid a year tuition before i applied.

There is no cheap place in all this areas. The fact that you will still be spending money made from Naija when you arrive in Canada, everywhere is expensive and toronto is even more expensive

You are really flexing the province.
Have you been to Windsor?
what can you say about there and St clair college.
No i haven't and i dont know St clair college. I should remind you that not all colleges in Canada are run by the Govt. You should find out if your choice of college is a private one or run by the govt because if you attend a private college, you wont be eligible for anything such as off campus work permit or permanent residence. Meaning, you get kicked out once you are done.
