donpichie: @ Redmi 6 pro OP, your device is hard bricked and can only be flashed using MIflash too but only after full authorization to do so by LORD XIAOMI.
I recently had my RN5 AI hard bricked after flashing a custom Rom despite following the rules. Thank God I'm outta that ordeal because it was a long and exhausting journey.
To recover your device, first check what arb version your phone is, download the latest fastboot Rom for it too.
Boot into EDL mode by using the test point method. (Lotta videos in YouTube showing how to do that.)
Or try miracle box software with appropriate drivers to force EDL mode via software.
Now the most daunting part...getting authorization to flash your device. Xiaomi recently took a draconian measure to secure their device by tripping an algorithm which bricks your device once you try to install a modified software or version different from that which your device is legally supposed to have. To make matters worse, they implemented a two step authentication process before allowing you restore the device.
There's no way to flash the device using Miflash tool unless your account is authorized to do so. In my case, I contacted Lotta peeps in different forums and @ adamix here too. (Thanks once again @ adamix)
Was lucky to get a dude on telegram who shared his authorized account details which allowed me recover the device.
Good luck getting your device back as you'll need all the luck you can get.
Cheers! are u based in Lagos? |

fibonacci2526: This is wrong, your device had no global ROM when you bought it and you should have done your research before buying so as to make an informed decision. i dont get you. They wrote global rom on d device in d store. And I bought it. I no know |

My advice to any newbie the just ordered xiaomi phone. Don't update anytin , just dey manage the fake ROM that came with It like that till u get enough knowledge about the devices and the flashing processes. And if u buy from one sometin Gold store from hongkong, na shop ROM. Thats where i bought mine from. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by demsid(m): 7:17am On Sep 16, 2018 |
acekid109: I haven't experienced this ur type issue before, normally you should be able to flash after touching the two test points, did you install the drivers to start with? It should definitely be detected by your system, the worst case it shows as 9008 device I didn't. I installed miflash tool and the custom ROM for redm 6pro. The QD driver I download no install . |

acekid109: was the rom flashing successful? no, the phone was not detected on d system device manager and mi flash no see am. |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by demsid(m): 7:08am On Sep 16, 2018 |
macbeyland: Exactly what I thought. Meaning it's that EDL stuff that can fix it. I think somebody succeeded in doing that here with the help of someone he met online.
At this point, I would advise buyers to discard their negative perception of Chinese rom. Truth is that it is not all Chinese because one can still select English as language.
The mi 5x I gave to my brother who's a novice on xiaomi products, I have never heard him complain about it being Chinese rom since all he sees in the phone is English
it's the excessive quest for global rom and bias for Chinese rom that make some Chinese sellers so desperate as to modding shop rom, installing them and deceiving buyers that it's global rom official. exactly what happened to my phone. If I can get intouch with the guy u said restored his using EDL I will be glad |
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by demsid(m): 7:04am On Sep 16, 2018 |
fibonacci2526: No, your phone came with a shop/fake rom and you shouldn't have gone ahead with the OTA as the said fake Rom doesn't support it. I didn't know it came with a shop ROM, I just update normally. |
