I think she only realised how serious it was when I told her, my dad and my siblings that if the gas were to explode when I was using it, that they should let me die; because I didn't think I could handle it if my face was forever scarred. That statement must have vividly painted a picture of what could happen in her mind. That was when she fixed it.

I also used to put my face to the holes when lighting the cooker but I've stopped since I realised how dangerous that was.

I felt I could use the money for other things this January since I could tweak it but, realising what the fate of my face would have been has been such a horror since Sunday –God forbid. I'm truly grateful to God because I could never live with it.

And pls, never ever ever put your face to it anymore. #StaySafe

I had similar experience 2017, almost burnt to death ,she was so lucky but I had face reconstruction..though I'm perfectly fine now . please be more careful next time

Awwwn, glad to know you're fine now, and I'll be more careful. I thought I was 'cos I do have phobia for gas/cylinder, so, missing this real beats me.
It goes to show we can't always be careful.
Sometimes, we miss it. It's been God and I'm thankful for His protection.

No, it isn't a camping gas. It is a local gas oven.
The oven switch is faulty and I 'thought' I found a way to tweak it before getting a replacement –a huge risk!

I didn't realise it was switched on so I kept trying to 'switch it on' and by the time I powered it with a lighter, the gas had circulated more than it should, next I heard was 'boom' and the whole object around the oven got affected. My hands hurt for about two days as though I dipped them in a freshly blended pepper mix.

Thankfully, I use a gas lighter and I didn't peep the holes(another bad habit I stopped afterwards) else, it would have been my face with the effect.

Recounting the ordeal is such a scare.

Y'all should be very careful with anything gas. It can be deadly if handled carelessly.

Something similar almost happened to me this Sunday but the good Lord averted it. Just felt the bang on my hand but no burns whatsoever.

Someone blocking you doesn't necessarily mean the person hates you. It might be to avoid distraction as a self-control measure.

I totally agree with the above. Blocking for some is not for the fun of it. It is to give them time to heal and learn to see you as a friend if they so please.

They unblock when it all feels right.

Mothers are usually caring so hating your mom could be either of these or both:
