All banks offers low rates...Bta is available at 199.. PTA also... If people are serious, they can get competitive rates... thats all I am saying.. the moment we allow criminals to start asking to pay for free info, then no difference from the bank. Nothing entrepreneural about this.. Do your research, if you want cheaper rates. At least from my findings: 4 banks still offer below 210... so, go get yours! Goodnite! |

yemi2plus:Introducing a fool. Why will you pay for something that's readily available. There are 22 banks in NIgeria. And your man above is talking about just 1 of them. Access Bank - Acquired Intercontinental Bank Citibank Diamond Bank Ecobank Nigeria - Acquired Oceanic Bank Fidelity Bank Nigeria First Bank of Nigeria First City Monument Bank - Acquired FinBank FSDH Merchant Bank - Merchant Bank Guaranty Trust Bank Heritage Bank Plc. - Acquired Enterprise Bank (formerly Spring Bank) Keystone Bank Limited - Formerly Bank PHB Rand Merchant Bank - Merchant bank Skye Bank - Acquired Mainstreet Bank Limited Stanbic IBTC Bank Nigeria Limited Standard Chartered Bank Sterling Bank - Acquired Equitorial Trust Bank Suntrust Bank Nigeria Limited Union Bank of Nigeria - Owned By Union Global Partners Limited United Bank for Africa Unity Bank Plc. Wema Bank Zenith Bank I personally used 2 yesterday that still offered me 207/213 for some payments. Why will any sane human being pay for something they can get. Call their customer service and get it!... Did he pay for it when he got it? If this man dares me now. I will get the details of the bank and spill it.... I have the time to do it. It is only a fool that'll pay for available information. |

The biggest mistake you are making online is not having a business blog. I will tell you why. I was having a conversation with someone and she argued that websites are not profitable, and that it’s just efizzy. I was just weak, but when I think back at that discussion, I can’t blame her for arriving at that conclusion, because most online business owners are committing a cardinal sin. They are not connecting with their customers online. Just think about the average customer who finds your website online. After she reads your about page and goes through your product and services page, she just closes the site and moves on. In her mind, she is a bit wary of online businesses because she has heard of various scams. All she feels about your business is, it is just another business with a website. Most likely, she will forget about the business as soon as she closes the page. Now imagine you had a business blog. She would have spent some more time on your website reading your blog. She would have gotten to know more about your business and how you are different from your competition. She would have gotten the impression that you are an expert because you would be giving expert tips that she cannot get from anywhere else. More interestingly, she would have gotten to know more about the face behind the brand. All of a sudden, the business would no longer just another business with a website. She will remember you and will keep visiting the website if you have an entertaining and educative blog. Now we know that you don’t typically buy something the first time you see it. We have to think about it, get used to the idea, ask our friends, research online, etc before we actually buy something. So when people find your site on day one, a blog should keep them coming back to the site to see what else you have talked about or what free advice you have for them. The blog helps them in making up their minds, and when they eventually decide to buy, they will buy from you, even though there is competition, because they have connected with you. Big companies spend a lot of money on marketing. They run TV ads, billboards, radio ads, BRT buses, etc. This is how they connect with customers and register their brand as top of mind with consumers. When you want to buy something, the first brand that comes to your mind immediately is your top of mind. As a young business, you need to be top of mind for your customers to be profitable, but you don’t have the type of budget that big companies have. So you really need to be innovative when it comes to being top of mind, and blogging is one of the ways to become top of mind. Get your inner genius to work; it’s time to start a blog. There are free blog hosting sites available, so you don’t even have any excuse. Have you ever visited a business blog? What blog was it and what was your experience? http://greenbiro.com/stephanie-obi-the-biggest-mistake-youre-making-online/ |
If you are a career driven woman like me, then this movie is a must watch for you…there’s so much to learn from it! Our movie of the week is ‘Married But Living Single’. Cast: Funke Akindele, Joseph Benjamin, Tina Mba, Joke Silva, Kiki Omeili and Femi Brainard. Produced by: Kalejaiye Paul Directed by: Tunde Olaoye We all know Funke Akindele for her comic roles (not being able to speak proper English) and razzness in movies, but in ‘Married But Living Single’, she breaks out of that role, tries out something new and does a good job of it. When the movie actually started, watching Funke Akindele speak “proper English” was kinda funny but I got used to her new role later on, lol, thumbs up Funke! The movie tells the story of an ad executive who has a problem with work life balance. Set in present day Nigeria, Kate (Funke Akindele), an ambitious young woman, is desperate to climb the corporate ladder so fast and attain career fulfillment, even to the detriment of her family. Kate is hell-bent on achieving and affording the finer things of life as she expends a lot of time and energy on her job. Her commitment to her career makes her lose a grip on her husband, her child, and her home. She crowned it all by not traveling with her husband, Mike (Joseph Benjamin) to India for surgery. The Doctor advised that his wife should take a leave and come with him to hasten the recuperating process, Kate agrees to go with her husband, but as they are about to travel, Kate is torn in between traveling to help her husband recuperate and winning the biggest account ever for her company. She didn’t even fulfill her promise of picking him up at the airport, come on!!! Of course this only gives room for yet another ambitious young woman, Titi (Kiki Omeili), whose own ambition is fueled by her deep passion to land a good man for herself. Titi makes herself available and, naturally, Mike is enamored with her. Before long both are locked in a steamy hot affair. There is also Lola a family friend of Kate’s who tries her best to keep her home against her better judgment even when faced with frequent emotional and physical abuse visited upon her by her short tempered husband Patrick (Tunde Olaoye). Her refusal to wake up and smell the coffee was her undoing. With no consideration for their daughter who had to live the through mental and emotional abuse, which will most certainly live permanent scars in her life, Lola stuck to her guns and remained in a bad marriage until one morning she just didn’t wake up! The excellent satiric plot of this movie touches on all aspects the family—relationship, trust, neglect, and emotional and physical abuse, as are evident in our daily living. The movie teaches that the foremost ambition of any couple should be how to strike a balance between work and family and the trick is to know where to draw the line. Thumbs up! a) Funke Akindele did a phenomenal job as the ad executive. She was able to translate emotions into the screen and you found yourself understanding her point of view and walking her struggle. b) Joke Silva is damn so good! She interpreted her role as Funke’s boss well enough, I could feel her! c) Loved the positive display of African culture through the use of Ankara wears in major scenes in the movie…it was really colorful! d) The picture quality, sound and background music was perfect! Thumbs down! a) The opening award scene should have been shorter and the dancing scene (at the end) was unnecessary. b). Whoever casted Joseph Benjamin and Funke Akindele as hubby and wifey did a terrible job, there was no chemistry between them. Funke Akindele and Joseph just didn’t have any sparks as I didn’t quite get that “oomph” that would have made your heart sing just watching them. c) Joseph forgave his wife easily…hello, he was supposed to make her suffer at least and ignore her for a while but he forgave her just like that …..oh well! That said, y’all should see the movie and learn. The bottom line is we all need to find that balance. http://greenbiro.com/nollywood-movie-reviews-by-kemi-filani-married-but-living-single/

To celebrate the Christmas with children from slums and remote communities in Lagos, Slum2School, a charity organisation gave itself a mantra to raise 1000 gift boxes for at least 1000 children. And they did just that, putting smiles on the faces of kids in different communities. On 19th of December, the first day of tour, hundreds of volunteers visited Epe and Emina with gifts for the children. Day 2 saw the train moving on to Bariga and Ajegunle where more Christmas boxes were handed out, Christmas songs were sang, & pictures were taken. On Day 3, even more christmas boxes were given out with the help of the skinniest & funkiest Santa you’ve ever come across – Denrele. ChristmasInABOX 2013 was a really successful event. http://greenbiro.com/slum2school-denrele-the-skinniest-santa-distribute-1000-gift-boxes-to-1000-children-see-photos-from-christmasinabox-2013/

In all parts of the world, professional footballers are role models; young kids look up to them. The really lucky ones who have lucrative careers in big clubs earn quite a handsome sum every year. When you compare how much they earn to their educational qualification, you can almost conclude that it would not have been possible for them to earn that much in another profession. Or can someone tell me which job one will do as a secondary school leaver and earn 80,000 pounds a week (not a month)? A large number of professional footballers who didn’t attend a higher institution even earn more than governors, ministers and those we think are well paid. But hey, that is just a digression. This article is not about what footballers or sportsmen earn. It’s all about Nkechi and Austin Okocha for now. Many young ladies dream of having a man who will spend lavishly on them. They dream of a man who will be theirs alone, who will take them shopping and to the cinema every weekend. Some will even go to any length to win the heart of a man if they know his pocket is ‘full’. Only a few ladies want to ‘suffer’ with their man and not many will want to stick with him when things are not going the way they want. Sorry ladies, I’m not here to attack anyone here (dodging bullets). But for Nkechi Okocha, its her turn to reap the fruits of her labour for standing and staying with her man through thick and thin. She was indeed an envy of all eyes during her recent 40th birthday celebration in Lagos. It was reported that her husband, Austin “Jay Jay” Okocha lavished nothing less than twenty eight million naira on her that day and bought her a brand new white Mercedez Benz G-Wagon SUV as a birthday present. The duo met in 1994 and got married in 1997. Their sixteen year old marriage has produced two beautiful children; Daniella and A-Jay. What I find interesting about their story is not just the twenty-eight million naira or the SUV, but their long lasting marriage and the fact that from all indications, Nkechi seems to have earned all the gifts her husband lavished on her. Here are two important points to explain what I mean… First, Austin’s football career has taken him around the world. He has played in Germany, Turkey, France, England and Qatar after he came to limelight at the USA 94 World Cup. There’s this popular saying which goes thus: behind every successful man, there’s a woman. While Austin was busy playing football around the world, there was an Nkechi taking care of the home front for him. Secondly, many Sportsmen have not been able to stay away from infidelity. Many of us will remember the Tiger Woods story, the John Terry and Ashly Cole‘s infidelity saga. Without even going beyond our shores, there are many examples among Nigerian Sportsmen to point out. Just recently, our very own Obafemi Martins was reported to have welcomed his third child from his current girlfriend. While he was playing in Italy, he had a child with one woman, while he was in England, he had a child with another, and now has the third with Mario Balotelli‘s sister! What I’m trying to say here is that Nkechi must have done something extra special to keep her man and her home during his nomadic football career and she’s no doubt reaping the benefits. Lesson for ladies: Nkechi stood beside her man when he was not well known as far back as 1994 and when the fame came, she didn’t allow any tiny ‘leg’ lady snatch him away from her. As a young man, I want an Nkechi Okocha type of a woman who will not come into my life when I’m rich. And I’m ready to do more than an Austin Okocha for any lady that stays with me through thick and thin. I want a wife who will stay beside me when things are fine and the other way round. So I better work hard to be that type of man, right? It won’t be a bad idea to be like Austin Okocha when I grow up. http://greenbiro.com/when-i-grow-up-i-want-to-be-like-austin-okocha/

Nigeria’s first lady, Patience Jonathan was on Thursday awarded a Honorary Doctorate degree by Hansei University, South Korea. This makes it her fourth doctorate since becoming Nigeria’s First Lady. President and Chancellor of Hansei University, Sung-Hae Kim said she was honoured because she had worked “hard for many good causes.” “She’s a humanitarian who has dedicated her life to working for the less privileged in Nigeria and Africa especially for women and children. Her vision as the defender of the poor in Nigeria fits into Hansei University’s motto of a practising Christian. Now she’s part of our community,” Prof. Kim added. The university also said it chose her for the degree because of her dedication to prayer. “I was surprised that she travelled here for the Church Growth International conference years back to pray for Nigeria. For her selfless work, Hansei University confers this degree on her,” said Yonggi Cho, co-founder of the Hansei University. “I was just doing my own thing not knowing that in far away Asia everything was being noted. I want to assure you all that with God’s help I will do more,” Mrs. Jonathan said, thanking the Koreans. “My grandma used to say: `Whatever little you have, share; If you have a thousand and you can’t share, you won’t share a million if you have’.” http://greenbiro.com/nigerias-first-lady-patience-jonathan-honoured-with-a-doctorate-degree-by-hansei-university-south-korea/

And he replied with the all knowing Daddy’s words “Thanks Amina. Call me. I know you want something“. To which she replied saying “Haha, you caught me! But Happy Independence Day, Dad“. Today, there has been an online buzz surrounding the alleged gold plated iPhones ordered by the Federal Government to celebrate Nigeria’s 53rd Independence Anniversary. A picture of a gold plated iPhone with the picture of the Nigerian coat of arms has been circulating the internet, once again raising allegations that the Federal Government actually ordered 53 iPhones was valued at £2,650,000 which is approximately N683,470,164.15. However, a closer look at the picture shows that it is indeed photo shopped. The phone does not have the Apple Logo which is a distinctive feature on the back of all iPhones, even the customized and gold plated ones. It also shows the Coat of Arms printed in black instead of encrusted in the gold as it is usually done with customized phones. Reno Omokri, Special Assistant (New Media) to the President has also reacted to the fake picture saying: Let me make it clear that President Goodluck Jonathan is a simple man who has ensured that all independence anniversary celebrations under his watch have been low key inexpensive events in keeping with his policy of avoiding wasteful expenditures. These stories and others like it are sponsored by those who would like to distract President Jonathan from the task of Transformation of which he has committed himself and this administration. It is a disservice to all of us if we sit back while these disgruntled elements get away with lies without exposing them and their cohorts. The original picture that was actually photo shopped has also been revealed and when placed beside the one being circulated shows it is actually fake. It is sad that some mischievous people would resort to this to tarnish the image of the Government. http://www.maktoubplus.com/federal-government-reacts-to-alleged-pictures-of-independence-day-gold-plated-iphones/

By Ahmed M Who are we to believe? This is a dicey one… Yesterday, Nigerians expressed their outrage at the report that the Federal Government had purchased 53 gold-plated iPhones for the country’s 53rd independence anniversary. The total cost of the 53 iPhones was valued at £2,650,000 which is approximately N683,470,164.15. Gold and Co, the luxury product company initially claimed to have received an order from the Nigerian Government. Amjad Ali, the Dubai based head of the company in an interview with The Independent UK said the Federal Government wanted the phones engraved with “the coat of arms, a shield and two horses”. However, following the reaction from Nigerians, Ali retracted his statement saying it was a Nigerian individual who ordered the phones and not the Federal Government. In a Twitter exchange between the company and a Nigerian social activist, Henry Okelue (@4eyedmonk), the London-based company denied its earlier claim that it got the order directly from the government, saying the order came from a private individual. The company then suggested that the The Independent lied saying “what was written and what was said are different.” But the author of the story, Simon Usborne, insists that he reported what he was told by Mr. Ali when asked about the denial on Gold and Co. Meanwhile, the Federal Government has also come out to deny placing an order for the phones. The Special Assistant on New Media to President Goodluck Jonathan Reno Omokri, tweeted that “Be advised that the story that the Nigerian Government has ordered 53 Gold iPhones is false. There is no truth to the story whatsoever.” http://www.maktoubplus.com/the-drama-behind-the-federal-governments-alleged-order-of-n683million-gold-plated-iphones/

By Grace Tingrel It’s going to take some time to get used to addressing her as a “Former Minister” but yes, that’s what she is now. The Former Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Rufa’i, who was among the nine ministers relieved of their positions by President Goodluck Jonathan in a cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday, has said she will be going back to the University to teach. She handed over the affairs of the Education Ministry to the Minister of State, Nyesom Wike, as directed by the President, and told newsmen that she would be going back to continue with her job as a teacher. Before her appointment as a Minister, Rufa’i was a professor of Curriculum Studies at the Bayero University, Kano. She was recommended by her state governor Sule Lamido, to take on the post as Minister of Education. “I am going back to resume my job as a professor of Curriculum Studies at the Bayero University Kano,” she told newsmen as she expressed gratitude to the President for the opportunity given her to serve as a cabinet minister. “I have enjoyed a close working relationship with the President. Of course, there were times we had our disagreements, but overall we enjoyed working together.” But hey Madam Professor, don’t forget that Bayero University is closed from the ongoing strike, so no “resume my job” for you yet! http://greenbiro.com/bayero-university-here-i-come-former-minister-of-education-ruqayyatu-rufai-returns-to-the-classroom-after-her-dismissal/ |
A Toronto woman who simulated pregnancy to try to smuggle 2 kilograms of cocaine was arrested today at Bogota airport by Colombian police. Col. Esteban Arias says 28-year-old Tabitha Leah Ritchie was stopped while trying to board an Air Canada flight in Bogota after an inspector noted that her belly was unusually cold and hard. He says police discovered a false belly made of latex taped to her body and they found 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of cocaine. Police say Ritchie arrived in Colombia on Aug. 6 and he identified her as a social worker. The Canadian Embassy did not respond to requests for details. https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/11/article-2417927-1BC38047000005DC-706_634x787.jpg https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/09/11/article-2417927-1BC3805C000005DC-248_634x394.jpg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdBzQuWT7BM http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2417927/Tabitha-Leah-Ritchie-Canadian-arrested-smuggling-cocaine-fake-baby-bump.html http://www.maktoubplus.com/pregnant-with-cocaine-canadian-woman-caught-trying-to-smuggle-two-kilos-of-cocaine-out-of-columbia-with-fake-baby-bump/ |
By Zara Lenore Following a series of protests by Muslims in Jakarta – Indonesia, the Indonesian government has been forced to move the location of the final events of Miss World Pageant to another city. The latter rounds of the international pageant were scheduled to be held outside of Jakarta, Indonesia, but thousands of Muslims took to the streets in the city, protesting against it. They denounced the decision to hold the beauty pageant in the world’s most populous Muslim-majority nation, with protesters burning the organisers in effigy and branding them “infidels”. The Indonesian Government has now announced that the competition will now be held entirely on the Hindu-majority island of Bali, where the opening ceremony took place yesterday. According to Daily Telegraph, the contest opens in Bali on Sunday and later rounds were due to take place in and around Jakarta, with the winner originally set to be crowned at a venue outside the capital on September 28. But the government said on Saturday they had decided all events would now be held on Bali, where hard line influence is almost non-existent and which is used to hordes of foreign tourists sunbathing in skimpy swimwear. Here are some more pictures from the protests: http://www.maktoubplus.com/miss-world-pageant-moved-to-bali-after-muslim-protests-in-jakarta-indonesia/

By Hanny Aliyu It’s a beautiful Tuesday morning and as it with the start of every working week, we have a number of things to look forward to. One of them is a news report that just caught our attention. According to Premium Times, the Hausa movie industry, Kannywood, is set to release its first science fiction film. The lead role in the action-hero movie would be played by Kannywood’s Mr. Handsome, Ibrahim Maishinku, who can be seen flying into the sky in a particular scene. The action hero movie, which is full of special effects, is set to be released in the coming months. The movie apparently tries to imitate Hollywood movies, Matrix and Mission Impossible, with some of its scenes. Bello Mohammed Bello, who was also part of movie production, described the film as first of its kind in Kannywood. “It is a science fiction movie and everything was carefully done. ADUNIYA is a great film that you most watch,” he said in describing the movie in the just released trailer. A sci-fi movie is quite an ambitious move by the producers and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for this one. So tell us, are you excited about this movie? http://www.maktoubplus.com/are-you-excited-about-the-first-science-fiction-movie-from-kannywood-aduniya/
