The government should stop all these half baked approach to tackling the hardship in the land. Either they reintroduce subsidy which will in turn bring down the cost of commodities and let the citizens benefit from the dividends of oil production our country as against the present situation where elected officials are living large on the common wealth of all approach which is the case at the moment or geometrically increase the minimum wage to reflect the present economic realities. However, adopting the latter approach will likely cause further inflation but the increased wage will at least compete fairly with the raising cost of living. Instead of these approach of throwing crumbs of 38000 for 3 months and now 70000 naira for 6 months at workers being adopted by government presently because these ain't going to solve the problem at all.

Nigerians cannot continue to bear the crushing cost of economic hardship, insecurity, and fiscal mismanagement without meaningful accountability. If the evidence meets the constitutional threshold, the Senate and House of Representatives must act.

No president is above the Constitution, and no public office is a license for impunity.

Hard to definitively establish who is "most competent" but Hamzat is certainly a leader in that category. He will win and Lagos will make good progress in his hands.

To be fair to Mr Hamzat, I do not know much about his personality or leadership acumen before he became Deputy Gov. However, because I know how APC works, he won't do beyond what the power that be in the state allows. That said, I would prefer another party to give the state a new direction and charte a new course, hence why I am leaning towards Doherty or Rhode Vivor, these two men are intelligent and would work with fresh ideas, however wishes are not horses.

So Umahi is telling us that the FEC just approved blank cheque/budget for the construction of a road project that has design or cost estimate? Nigeria is truly a crime scene to say the least.

Nigeria is just a funny place where we glorify things that ought to be inconsequential. Where in the constitution are family members of president or other politicians recognized and accorded powers? But over the years we just make these people look like demi God thereby allowing them to exercise undue influence. Mohammed Abacha, Yusuf Buhari, Seyi Tinubu to mention but a few, some governors children and now ministers sons have started doing the same thing.

That;s why I laugh at APC sometimes.

It's not their fault, really, the decline of the refineries began when Nigeria missed the first TAM under Abacha in 1994, a year after we were warned to remove subsidy so that there would be enough profit to keep those refineries running properly. BY 2012, they were all but dead, and by 2019 they were truly dead. But the fact is, they don't want to be honest and tell the truth, because it means lost votes.

There are three government owned infrastructure in NG, that no matter how much is spent on them, I tell you it is tantamount to waste of resources; NNPC refineries, Ajaokuta iron and steel industry and NRC (especial those old narrow gauge lines across the country).
You see those three massive national assets, there are people that see them as their own pots of soup to enrich themselves.
Which them brings me to the conclusion that Atiku was right all along when he said they should sell off those refineries, to free the government of spending unproductive cost and as well as giving them the chance of resuscitation by an investor.

If TAN has something against him, they should write a proper petition to ICPC and EFCC and can even follow it up to the courts instead of this noise making.

So NNPC refineries are not coming back, yet billions are budgeted annually for reconfiguration, rehabilitation and blah blah of those refineries by this same government?
And if it takes five years to build a refinery according to you, did the government that remove subsidy on day one, put in place mechanism to build at least a working refinery, after all they are saving billions from subsidy and they have 4 years in their first term, they could've been at 80-85% percent completion stage at least by the end of their 4 year term.

Subsidy is gone, but where are our refineries to ensure local refining of our petroleum products, what quantity of crude do we pump daily and export, how much have we saved from the subsidy scheme removal and where and how have we spend the over 3 years of savings? Before they tell us that states and LG get more allocations, please how has it translated to a better life for the common man who bare the brunt daily with perpetual hardship?
Anyways, since this is a SW presidency that we have at the moment, voices which were once loud have gone calm and sense of reasoning have been recalibrated to a new Nigeria under the super human government of the day. Posterity will judge us all

The robbers were arrested for their crimes and justifiable so, and I hope they and their conspirators are dealt with in accordance with extant laws.
