devindevin2000:In 2012, Lagos state's budget was N485 billion In 2012, Akwa ibom's budget was N544 billion For several years, Akwa Ibom posted the largest budgets in Nigeria, even way more than Lagos state, but Lagos state still awarded and commissioned more projects and infrastructures than the whole of SE and SS combined. Akpabio as the governor of Akwa Ibom budgets billions every year for Ibaka seaport, but even bush clearing was not done, that money was just pocket money while Lagos state was actively 2 deep seaports Today, DELTA state is the second largest debtor in Nigeria after Lagos, they owe N331.95 billion, that's x 2 what they own in Osun state, even though we can see what the people of Osun state did with their debts, but there's nothing on the ground in Delta state. Money is not everything and you cannot replace good, credible and competent leaders with money. N331.95 billion, Osun and Akwa Ibom owe N165.91 |
Ngozi123:In any democracy, entire population doesn't make, pass and approve laws, they elect public officials inf orm of legislatures to make and pass laws for the governor to pass into law. In this case, the entire representatives of all the LGAs and regions in Lagos state crafted, deliberated, passed this law and the governor signed it into law. This is democracy, it worked as designed in Lagos state. |

Johnnyessence: Johnnyessence: Cleaner Lagos Office Entrance Filled With DirtLagos wasn't littered with dirt during ambode's predecessors time.. ![]() Abeg help us tell the best governor and the hardest governor in Africa to help us clean Lagos, we gave him N830 billion budget, the largest state budget in the history of Nigeria, but Lagos is full of trash all over the place and even projects sef, na only 4 projects you fit list... We want LAWMA abeg.. ![]() |
omonnakoda:Also the official language at the Lagos State house of assembly. |
Partnerbiz:Instead of the unintelligent legal jargon, you should be highlighting the reasons why the law is illegal and what facts you are going to base your objections on in any court of law.. |
hammer6F:LASG or any state government should never make or don't make laws based on what other states do. If they feel like passing similar laws, that's their headache. |
Efewestern:Stop making upside down and irrelevant arguments, the law was made and designed for the people of Lagos state, not for people in or from other states. Let's assume 70% of non yoruba don't have a pass in Yoruba and hence can't seek admission into any of the state uni, they will be forced to go to their state to seek for admission, on getting there they will still end up competing with the students from other states , It actually means that you can't school in my state until you understand my language, but I can school in your state. You are entitled to your own assumptions, but I don't argue assumptions. The law was created for the people of Lagos state so if you have to leave Lagos state to go to your state because of the Law, it means you are not from Lagos state. Again, stop making upside down and irrelevant arguments, the law was made and designed for the people of Lagos state, not for people in or from other states. FG encouraged promotion of our local language, but not to use it as a criteria for admission.FG recommended what Lagos state did with their Language law and on top of that, LASG is free to make laws that are confined to Lagos state, to LASG funded institutions and schools. The law was not made to cover jurisdictions outside the state or to also cover FG institutions within Lagos state. LASG is in charge of LASG funded learning institutions within Lagos state and if you don't like the law and still wich to attend tertiary institutions in Lagos state, UNILAG is available. Should every state follow this trend, I hope you know the implications. That's their problem. |
Partnerbiz:You can not challenge the state for doing what the constitution recommended or for following the law. If you don't like the law, then lobby your lawmakers to change or amend the constitution that gave Lagos state the legal backing to create their Language law.. Learn that basic concept per the constitution and legalities before your next comment. |
Efewestern:The fact that they have sanitation issues in Lagos or any other society on the surface of the earth doesn't mean they should and cannot make laws and you don't even get to decide when and how they can make laws. What about your own state? Don't you have slums in your state and the fact that you have slums prevent your lawmakers from making laws? Don't you think they have to clean up every corner of Delta state before their lawmakers make and pass laws in Delta state? You need to stop making these lame and ignorant arguments. if you noticed I didn't limit my criticism to Lagos alone, sometimes I do call warri names, I don't know why you were so concerned about lagos, and the last time I checked a huge part of lagos still looks unattractive, all thanks to our/Your "Good" leaders.I still don't see the connection between Yoruba Language Law in Lagos State and slums. Go to your state and tell them to stop making laws until they clean up your slums |
Efewestern:That's up to your state to decide, Lagos state government is empowered by the people of Lagos state to make and enforce laws in Lagos state, not Delta state. Lagos state doesn't function or exist based on what the people in Delta state are doing or not doing. Again, LASG did exactly what the FG and the National Policy on Education (NPE) recommended, it is up to Delta state to follow or ignore that recommendation, but stop acting as if you know more than the framers of that policy. So what you re implying is that, everybody should go to their state to further their education.. so much for one Nigeria. That's the individual choices people have to make and if it's so important or necessary for Yoruba students to school in Delta state, well, they have other options because I'm sure they have a Federal University in Dleta state without such requirements. They also have a FG university in Lagos without such requirements. |
[s] Johnnyessence:[/s] Same silly and unintelligent rant, I was expecting you to list ambode projects, not to keep boring me with the same ignorant nonsense. Stop lying and making claims that you can not prove with facts. |
Efewestern:No, I posted your own comments on different threads and different topics bashing, insulting and denigrating Lagos state and you even did the same thing in this thread even though this thread about Yoruba language Law in Lagos state, you still inserted your hate and disgust for Lagos by letting us know how dirty Lagos is instead of the topic of discussion which highlighted our true intentions and disdain for Lagos state regardless of any Language law or the main topic of discussion. How hypocritical, absurd and contradictory asking how I translated your comment into hate speech, shouldn't you be asking yourself how you translated the topic, Yoruba Language Law in Lagos state into Lagos is dirty? It's your state, do anything you so wish.. I just said what I feel. What you feel was generalization and ignorance since the whole of Lagos is not a slum and last I checked, they have slums in even the most developed countries around the globe. |
Anglojosite7:Sai Baba.... ![]() |
heckymaicon:Funny when ipobs lie that they voted for PMB... ![]() |
Partnerbiz: National Policy on Education (NPE) stipulates that the medium of instruction should be the language of the immediate environment of the child. Schools are free to select such Nigerian Language to be taught. No, it can not be overturned because the LASG did exactly what the FG and the constitution recommended especially the red lighted part. |
Johnnyessence:Ambode superseded his predecessor....but this joker cannot list more than 4 ambode's projects. Ignorant people and ignorant claims are like brothers and sisters.. ![]() |
Johnnyessence:Look at this ipob joker dodging and dancing just he can not list ambode's projects.. You are the one disputing the claim so the burden is on you to prove me wrong with your own facts, same way I proved you wrong with facts and pictures that Fashola Fashola delivered more than ambode. Even your PPP nonsense was just lame, irrelevant and idiotic since achievements, progress, development and infrastructures are either built via loans or concessions. Governments all over the world borrow to finance projects, Nigerian government borrowed and is still borrowing to finance projects so even if Osun borrowed to finance projects, does it alter the fact that Aregbe delivered more infrastructures than Ambode and the rest of the governors in Nigeria combined? This is the problem with you losers, you lie and make idiotic claims you can not prove with facts, but when asked to show facts, you start lying, you start spewing rubbish and coming up with diversions and irrelevant nonsense. The topic is about Lagos, but this clown won't stop talking about Osun state...btw, I don't mind bombing you with Argbesola's projects if that's what you want. |
If fact, na only 1 assignment we give you, just list ambode's achievements. After several hours, na only 4 you manage to list? ...but you still want us to believe that ambode built more infrastructures than any governor in Africa. ![]() Look here, the largest public works project in Africa today is the Lagos Metro Rail, Fashola's project. ![]() |
Johnnyessence:So, who is the Private Partner and why was Fashola inspecting and commissioning PPP housing estates left and right with Lagos state logo on them and even selling them and issuing mortgage to Lagosians via Lagos HOMS? What is wrong with you? ![]() When you return with your next ignorant comment, please make sure you have facts and a list of the PPP partners that built Lagos housing estates.. lol @ this joker grasping at straws because he can not list Ambode's projects... ![]() |
Johnnyessence:Oya, number 4. Maybe we'll get to number 10 by next week? ![]() |
Partnerbiz: Declared void based on what and by who? |
Johnnyessence: lmao.... I'm pained because you can not list more than 3 ambode's achievements ![]() You are a lousy, weak and lazy ambode defended and I'm sure ambode himself is very very disappointed in you... ![]() Abeg show e ambode bridge Abeg show me ambode hospitals Abeg show me ambode schools Abeg show me ambode maternity centers Abeg show me ambode skills centers Abeg show me ambode drivers institutes Abeg show me ambode power plants Abeg show me ambode waterworks Abeg show me ambode courts Abeg show me ambode housing estates Abeg show me ambode markets Abeg show me ambode energy college... Ok, that's anough..just show me anything... ![]() |
Ok, I don taya... Fashola remains the most accomplished governor in the history of Nigeria and Ambode with his slow and disappointing pace can nor catch up even after his 8 years in office. I hope I've educated the know nothing Ambode groupies with zero knowledge about Lagos. I covered Fashola extensively on NL, but the story is different today because there is little to cover per ambode's projects. For now, Fashola's shoes are too big for him to fill... |
