We’ll Not Spare Criminals –jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday warned that his administration would not spare violators of national security, calling on those who hide under religion and ethnicity to perpetrate evil to stop forthwith. He gave the warning at the passing-out parade of 196 cadets of 58 Regular Course and 153 postgraduate students, who were conferred with degrees in various disciplines at a colourful ceremony held at the permanent site of the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna. Reiterating his administration’s commitment to security, he noted that the development of any nation is hinged on security and peace. “Let me reiterate that my administration places high premium on security, because the development of any nation is hinged on security and peace. It is for this reason that this administration is taking all necessary measures to create harmonious and peaceful atmosphere in every part of this country, so that we can achieve the goals of our all - important transformation agenda. “Those who seek to violate national security must be told in very clear terms that government will spare no effort in making it impossible for them to achieve their dastardly goals or to escape justice and punishment. The Armed Forces have a crucial role to play in defending the integrity of Nigeria,” he said. Charging the young officers to hold fast to what they have been taught, he promised that his administration will continue to work in the interest of the armed forces. “Soldiering is a noble profession. Your main charge is to go into the field as true officers and gentlemen “I want to assure you that my administration will do everything possible to provide the enabling environment to encourage every officer and every one that is committed to serving the fatherland. “I am aware that a new harmonised terms and condition of service for the Armed Forces has been proposed. Let me assure you that my administration will take careful look at the recommendations and act in the best interest of the Armed Forces. “On our part, my administration would continue to provide the NDA with all that is required to offer quality training to its cadet,” he said. Three cadets - Peter Unukefe Efe (NDA/8046) in Electrical Engineering, Bashir Bala (NDA/8086) in Economics and Michael Obinna Nnamani (NDA/8049) in Physics graduated with First Class honors. Also, nine cadets who distinguished themselves received the 58 Regular Course Awards. Cadet AP Akinwale went home with three - Sword of Honour, Gold Medal and the Indian Cup. Highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of Honorary Degree of Doctors of Letters on the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the National Security Adviser, General Andrew Owoeye Azazi. Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom and the Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke were conferred honorary degree of Doctors of Management Sciences while Professor Jubril Aminu was conferred honorary degree of Doctors of Sciences. In his remarks, the Commandant of NDA, Major General Chukwuemeka Onwuamaegbu, said the academy since its establishment in 1964 has graduated 17,598 officers, including 455 from 10 sister African countries - Benin, Chad, Guinea, The Gambia, Niger, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda and Zimbabwe. He said in line with President Jonathan’s directive, 20 successful female cadets out of the 5000 that applied will join their male counterparts in three weeks when the next session commences. He also said from inception of the degree programme, a total of 3,490 Regular Course cadets have received degrees in the various fields. Out of this number, 35 made First Class honours. Onwuamaegbu further revealed that the academy is partnering with foreign universities and military training institutions in order to be the best in the world, adding that its personnel are attending various training programmes in various institutions across the world. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/newsonthehour/2011/sept/18/newsbreak-18-09-2011-001.html |
Thought some people said the country can be ruled by one that has goodluck but av not seen why that goodluck has not brought anything to Nigeria. Maybe we should add Lucky Igbinedion to the government to make it double. Dont call me Alimajiri or whatsoever cos am from SW and we dont vote on centiments. OBJ dnt get our vote in 1999, did he? If its only in the North I can get a honest, transparent candidate I ll keep voting for him. We v tried a Southerner but it has failed us. Forget tribalism and ethnicity, I dont believe in it. I live just 2mins walk from Lekan Balogun in Ibadan, throughout his time in the senate he cant point out a single project for his constituency. Even the road infront of his house is not motorable. When Akala came to govt, he put a street light on his only street after repairing it but other street ishhhh. Has he got 2 heads? Dont be surprised that if Lekan was an Igbo man he cld be better of. All am saying is Lets all Vote wisely, PDP govt is killing us. We re not safe as long as they re still the one in power. R I P Mc Loph |
RIP Mc Loph. I ll miss U |

Some people dont know why there should be a revolution in this country. let them read your list and probably they print out copies for their friends and relatives. I have prepared mine and pledged 20,000 copies of flyers that will go round Example: Dimeji Bankole: Curruption cases - took $66m (£40m) loan from United Bank for Africa PLC for his office. - misuse of N10 billion borrowed on behalf of the lower legislative chamber from a commercial bank. - contract fixing worth millions of naira. - inflation of the cost of items bought by the house, such as television sets. - inflated a N2.3 billion contract for the supply of 380 Peugeot cars. - annual salary and money budgeted for his office- millions of dollars. - N335.5 million contract for the purchase of “special vehicles” for principal officers of the House. - N9 billion misappropriated out of the N11 billion capital vote Case still in EFCC officially but closed, why? the more you look the less you see. |

In those days, ladies have some respect when men are proposing them and men would always look for a way of getting a member of the families favour, especially Mums. But nowadays Ladies would love to hang out with friends anytime so they prefare to live independently. Idependent life is good but for ladies, it opens doors for immoralities. Most student dont go back to their parents home after they finish university, because they are use to the independent life while at Uni. Guys, would u like to marry a girl living on her own or with families? |
The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) said the speedy disbandment of the Presidential Election PetitionTribunal constituted by Justice Ayo Salami may have finally exposed the real reason why he (Justice Salami)was removed as the President of the Court of Appeal (PCA). In a statement issued in Lagos on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the partysaid all other illegalities committed by the NJC and President Goodluck Jonathan in removing Justice Salamiaside, it now seems clear to everyone that he was actually eased out to pave the way for judges, whom thosebehind his removal perceive as ‘friendly’, to sit on the tribunal.”That Justice Dalhatu Adamu, Acting President of the PCA, quickly dismantled the panel, even as time isrunning out to hear the case filed by the CPC challenging the President’s election, seems to be a confirmation ofthe rumours making the rounds that President Jonathan was afraid that his election may be overturned by the oldpanel, hence he acceded to the illegal recommendation of the NJC to remove Justice Salami. ”Even if there is no sinister motive for the action by Justice Adamu in dispersing the judges sitting on the case, which is possible, his hasty action – at a time the controversy over the way Justice Salami was removed is at itspeak – is enough reason to sow the seeds of doubt over his action,” it said.ACN said the disbandment of the election petition panel now makes it difficult for anyone to believe thatenlightened self interest is not the reason why the President ignored the Constitution in aligning with therecommendation of the NJC on Justice Salami. The party said if the removal of Justice Salami and the disbanding of the tribunal is considered along with the fact thatPresident Jonathan is a party to the pending case before it (tribunal), it seems more evident than ever that the Presidentfailed to abide by the Code of Conduct for Public Officers, as contained in the Fifth Schedule to the Constitution.”Paragraph 1 of the Code states: ‘[a] public officer shall not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflictswith his duties and responsibilities’. ”This is one more reason why the President must reverse his action on the Justice Salami case today. Otherwise he would expose himself to the accusation – and rightly so – that he allowed his personal interest to dictate his conduct asthe President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” ACN said. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/09/06/real-reason-for-justice-salamis-removal-now-clear-says-action-congress/ |
According to him, ”I congratulate the EFCC for the results recorded so far. I urge the commission not to rest on its oars for the job ahead is daunting but surmountable. There are still huge stolen assets left unrecovered abroad in safe havens. The commission must work hard in collaboration with the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, the designated central authority to recover and return those funds. “Government appreciates the peculiar challenges facing anti-graft agencies. It will do everything possible within the law to facilitate the work of the agencies. At this juncture, I would like to specially congratulate the chairperson, Mrs Farida Waziri, for the tremendous achievements she has been making during this period. Billions of dollars and naira have been retrieved. You must continue with the good work and we shall continue to give you all the support. |
Talk is cheap. No action. Like Bankole is sentenced? I feel like slap this man Jonathan!! |

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has vowed that his administration will not shield any corrupt person from investigation or prosecution by the anti-graft agencies in the country. The president, who gave the assurance on Monday, at the opening ceremony of the 8th national seminar on economic crimes holding at the Training and Research Institute of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abuja, promised that government would continue to support and encourage the EFCC and other anti-corruption agencies to confront the monster of corruption more decisively and charged them to spare no culprit regardless of his status or position. “We will give all the necessary support and encouragement to all the anti-ccorruption agencies to vigorously enforce the enabling anti-corruption laws. I urge these agencies to do their work fairly but firmly within the ambit of the law without regard to position or status. There shall be no sacred cow. This government will not protect any so-called sacred cow. The wheel of justice must run its full course in tackling anti-corruption cases.” http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/27759-corruption-therell-be-no-sacred-cow-jonathan |

Un Demands Cctv Footage Of Bombed Building. As investigations proceed on penultimate Friday’s bombing of the United Nations building in Abuja, the world body has asked the Federal Government to release the Closed Circuit Television footage of the premises before and during the bombing, the Empowered Newswire reported. Although the UN and United States officials are largely involved in the probe, official UN sources said on Friday that it was the responsibility of the Nigerian security agencies to provide the details to the UN. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201109033281270 |
Here we go, I can foresee that the President and the PDP are Panicking. They also foresee Revolution at their doorstep. they want us to Cooperate with them so they can loot us dry. |
"On this special occasion, our great Party, the PDP once again invites all Nigerians to join hands with the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in his determination to bring about transformation and good governance to our people. “May this celebration be a constant reminder of the patriotic obligations we all owe to our great nation.” But the Congress for Progressive Change said in its sallah message that the country was worsening and appealed to Nigerians to continue to pray for their country. The party said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Rotimi Fashaki that “Indeed, the land of our nativity is on the throes of debilitating challenges that require concerted efforts in beseeching the wisdom of the Divinity for just and amicable resolution.” http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201108311812893 |
@sirjec, Buhari is not boko haram and can never be one. I think u have a bit of education, can u proof it? Do u think the likes of Bakare, Yinka Odumakin and his wife Dr. Okei will ever have any romans with Boko Haram. Why cant your president arrest him if u followers agree Buhari is BH? When millions are out there without food on their table, when about 30 people died of motor accidents. 100 swept away by flood, when a pregnant woman is lying in bed full of agony due to ur Sambo's Boko haramites bombers. All your president, not mine is after is Aso Ebi, Ceremony, big card, jolly jolly.
