Chimaroke Nnamani is a dubious character who believes in diverting State resources to personal use.

In 2017, according to the guardian newspapers

Justice Chuka Obiozor of a Federal High Court, Lagos yesterday ordered arrest of a former governor of Enugu State, Chimaroke Nnamani, for failure to appear for trial over alleged money laundering.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had charged Nnamani alongside his former aide, Sunday Anyaogu, over laundering of N4.5 billion. Also charged were four firms and two schools, namely Rainbownet Nigeria Ltd, Hillgate Nigeria Ltd, Cosmo FM, Capital City Automobile Nigeria Ltd, Renaissance University Teaching Hospital and Mea Mater Elizabeth High School.

Nnamani and Anyaogu were accused of lodging the laundered sum in a secret account with the aim of concealing its source.
