The proposal reportedly has backing from several NATO members but not yet unanimous support.

Iran should continue mining the Strait to make any demining effort extremely difficult and costly. I also don’t think an escort strategy would work. How many ships can NATO realistically escort 24/7 without being drawn directly into the war?
