A Clinical Microbiologist, Dr Tony Mbume, has advised women to stop wearing tight jeans, synthetic panties and leggings, to prevent vaginal infections.

According to him, most Nigerian females wear these synthetic pants, leggings and tight jeans in the name of fashion, without considering the health implications. Mbume, who works with CIAGIN Medical Laboratory, Oke-Afa, Isolo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that synthetic wears caused the vagina to ‘overheat’, which could disrupt its ecosystem.

He said that under wears made of latex, nylon or polyester and synthetic materials could trap moisture and warmth, making the vagina vulnerable to different types of infection “Synthetic panties can cause the vagina area to overheat and this can sometimes cause burning sores, itching or irritate the sensitive skin, as well as causing blisters.

“The friction caused by walking in tight pants and jeans can irritate the skin, resulting in the formation of blisters,’’ he said.

Mbume said that the vaginal burning and itching was usually accompanied by discharge and bad odour.

He further said that such infections could be dangerous if left untreated, as it might lead to infertility due to damage of the reproductive organs.

The microbiologist, however, recommended cotton underwear, to ventilate the vagina and eliminate infections, adding that wearing cotton underwear helped to keep the vagina free of excessive moisture and allows the area to breathe.

“Use cotton menstrual pads too. Cotton absorbs excess moisture and removes buildup heat from the area. It is the only materials that can become stronger when wet and is easily sterilized after use.

Zach Orji’s ritualist story shares similarities with that of Tony Umez, in the sense that, he usually went into it due to peer pressure and an unsupportive wife, or a wife who supported ritualism. Zach Orji usually had to be led to do everything. Someone within the inner circle always liked him enough to spoonfeed him through the process, but eventually, if you ain’t got it, you ain’t got it, and Zack never really had the balls for rituals. He was usually the bad recruit, the one who would eventually lead to the downfall of the entire ritualist ring, but not before it had taken away some of his loved ones. In fact, it was the death of his loved ones that would lead him to a church, to ask for forgiveness.

Clem is another bad recruit in the blood money gang. He was the one guy that, in hindsight, should never have been invited to the table to begin with. He was usually warned multiple times, before-hand, but e too dey form hard guy, so e no dey hear word….until his first son becomes an slowpoke. Clem was particularly good at crying, and begging for mercy from whatever god that had blessed him with the blood money, but it was all to no avail, because the only way out for him, most of the time, is through death.

Most people in Nigeria were introduced to the woes of blood money through Kenneth Okonkwo in the iconic movie, Living in Bondage. Yes, Kenneth Okonkwo was the friend who was down and out and desperately needed a come-up, and was ultimately lured into the gruesome blood money circle. He, like many of us on the internet today, was never really patient enough, to look through the terms and conditions of the organization he was subscribing to, and so, fell into a rabbit hole, he was generally unprepared for.
Kenneth would reprise that role of the clueless ritualist over and over again, in his Nollywood career. However, after almost ten years in the game, Nollywood producers finally acknowledged the OG status of Kenneth in the ritual game, and upgraded his post, so that he became part of the inner circle- occasionally. But his role in that iconic movie, will forever remain ingrained in the minds of all blood money movie watchers.

The CEO of Blood Money Gang, mixer of the jazz, Founder, Ogwu Ego Group of Companies, the only one allowed into the inner chamber to fraternize with the gods of ogwu ego, Pete Edochie was always the Supreme Leader in the group. All the recruits had to pass through him, and any recruit that mssed up, had to face him. And he was unforgiving, his sneer alone, will send the fear of God down your spine.

Pete was involved in so many rituals, whether it was putting people into coffins to sleep, or pounding newborn babies to cook a strong medicine for quick money. He never suffered fools, had not time for he whimpering cowards like Tony Umez and once your face appears on his mirror or in his calabash, e don be for you. You either run mad or die, but your life was essentially over. In fact, if Pete has to leave his den to come to your house, just prepare yourself, because your time is surely up. This man was so good in blood money, I’m sure a lot of people must have genuinely believed he engaged in it.

My most memorable movie of Pete Edochie doing money rituals, was this movie, where he used a girl who sells banana for rituals, and her ghost used to haunt him, with her tray of bananas on her head, crying “Buy banana” I am not ashamed to say, that as a child, that scene haunted me for years.


1 Kanayo O. Kanayo

And finally, the King of them all, the number one ritualist in Nigeria and beyond, the only man that till today, his face alone, inspires tales of mutilated bodies, and kidnappings, Kanayo O. Kanayo. This man is so good, his name, KOK, is synonymous to ritual. There is nobody KOK cannot use for rituals, no relationship is too sacred; his mother, wife, children, siblings, even his pastor. KOK was ruthless, he only lived by one rule, and that was, Money must be made, by any means necessary. If KOK has acted 100 movies in Nollywood, at least 70 of them had him doing money rituals.

He was the plug, to all your necessary ritual needs. If you need the poop of a six-month old tse-tse fly, KOK knew where to take you, you want the intestine of an albino tortoise, KOK had a guy who could arrange it. Nothing was too great or too little for KOK to find on this earth, and no powers against him could defeat him. This man is the Elite ritualist through and through, they don’t make ‘em better than KOK.

Our Jagaban of the ritual world has mostly retired from the roles, but KOK will forever be the Eze ndi Ogwu Ego.

Nigerian military has reduced itself to subject of mockery.

The Nigerian Army has been in the eye of the storm over the conduct of soldiers deployed to provide security during the 2019 elections. The soldiers have been roundly accused in several quarters of committing infractions, including partisan interference in the electoral process, that seriously undermined the credibility and sanctity of the elections.

In fact, in the estimation of many observers, both Federal Government and the Army stand condemned over the undue militarisation of the electoral process.

But it is an accusation that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, in this interview with pressmen, dismisses in its entirety.

The military was accused of aiding in election malpractices like snatching of ballot boxes. Your reaction? Militarisation has to be defined. What do you mean by militarisation?

"How exactly did the military take part in the elections? Generalisation is not the best. People just use the word militarisation without defining it. Was the so-called militarisation everywhere across the country? Why are people making so much noise about it? They are giving the impression that the military was involved in the entire process in the whole country.

"It is just probably a definition they only restricted to Lagos or where? ..Niger-Delta mostly, People cannot just use the word militarisation in general terms to say the security agencies were involved.


"Who are the people involved? What does the Constitution say about the role of the military? We have the constitutional provision. We have made it very clear; we are not part of these elections, we are only supporting the police. Anything we do there is helping the police who are representing the civil authority in law enforcement and it is very clear that we have been called out to support the civil authority. That does not mean militarisation.

"And once we go out there, we are performing police role, it is not a military role, we are supporting the police essentially; that is very clear. The military was called out to come and support the police. So, they are just using the military in order to justify their failures, to justify their inadequacies, to justify their inability to rig because the security forces provided the needed security to prevent massive rigging, ballot box-snatching and so on.

"But strictly, the use of the word, militarisation is misplaced, it is wrong. We were there to perform our responsibilities based on the invitation to support the police which is legitimate. There is no way you will say that the election was militarised; it is misuse of the term. If really the election was militarised, I tell you, nobody would take the law into his hands the way they did brazenly and deliberately did, even attacking our men, killing our personnel.

"An officer was killed, policemen were killed so if we were to take drastic steps to really show we were involved, it would have been worse than this. We were able to maintain law and order; we were able to conduct ourselves within the rules of engagement which is legitimate.

"So there is a deliberate misconception or misinterpretation of the role of the military in order to malign the military and discredit it despite the stupendous efforts we have made to ensure security in support of the civil authority.

"And you know very well if the security agencies, including the military, had not come out to support the elections in providing security, the level of insecurity, the level of killings, arson, ballot box-snatching and so on, would have been worse than what was experienced. So many of the stakeholders, both at home and abroad, have commended the military for remaining neutral, impartial and conducting themselves professionally; but a few elements who felt they were not given the chance to rig and to disturb on a massive scale the election process, are the ones shouting that the whole process was militarised.

"The military was not there to support any political party; we were there to provide adequate security as requested, in support of the electoral process. That was essentially what we did. So to say that the process was militarised is a misplaced use of word; it is unfortunate. Over the years, from our historical experiences, the outcomes or results of elections have been the major cause of instability in our polity.

"They have led to a lot of killings, arson, you name it: in Kaduna, Zangon-Kataf, Modakeke and so many other places. So historically, if you look at it, we had those unfortunate incidents because they were allowed to go out of control.

"We had so many underlying factors; even in the First Republic, we saw the underlying factors that led to the civil war; it is the same outcome of elections that led to that, characterised by so many malpractices. So government doesn’t want the same thing to happen and that was why the military was called in to support the police. There is no way we would be partisan; the country’s stability, the country’s peace is our watchword, it is very, very fundamental. Some people just chose to blame different entities and bodies for their failures.”

On the allegation that the soldiers caught snatching ballot boxes are fake “Yes, that is another dimension because as I said, those people that did not want the election to go smoothly, created their own local militia, gave them military and police uniforms to be moving out here and there to misbehave, snatch ballot boxes, to disrupt the electoral process and so on. So anyone that sees them will automatically say it is the military and that is completely at variance with our code of conduct, with our ethics and the way we train our officers and men to ensure they behave professionally; that is very clear.

"We arrested several of them and you must have seen our press releases with pictures of the fake soldiers, fake policemen, fake security operatives and so on. So once you see this, it is not the Army that created those ones and gave them uniforms; so instead of them to admit their shortcomings and misconduct, they are covering their heinous activities/crimes under the guise of militarisation.

"It is so painful, so terrible that they don’t have conscience and continue to blame the military for their own mischievous actions. This is where the Press needs to be objective, look at it critically. The Army cannot go and dress fake people or criminals to go and act on their behalf. We have seen the thugs, the militias; so where does the military come in?

"These are very clear. So we have to be reasonable and objective; we are paid by the state to ensure that we defend our country and prevent breakdown of law and order for us to progress; there is no other way. It is very important."

Today the CJN has been vindicated.

We all know how this started, how SW media was the first to defend and support the illegality of the president, how they ran false stories just to tarnish the image of an innocent man, a father, grandfather and Head of Nigerian judiciary and used their media to crucify him even before the court sits.

We all know how they refused to to abide by the NBA's directive to boycott the court, how they refused to join the protest against this illegality and how to sponsored counter-protest against those Protesting the illegality.

We all saw how Channels suspended an ongoing programme to run emergency programme to defend Buhari's decision to unconstitutionally remove the CJN and swell public sentiment against the CJN, a lot of threads were opened by Sarrki, BBQ and others blackmailing everyone that spoke against that by labelling them as lovers of corruption.

Femi Falana was one of the first to condemn the illegality but few days later he adopted anti-Onnoghen stance calling for his resignation. How can a learned man call for the resignation of the CJN on the ground of unsubstantiated evidence. Anyway, we were surprised by the sudden turn-coat.

I don't know why SW has continually made themselves enemy of the South and opposing anything of Southerner interest but they should always know that "family is your last line of defence"
