A rise of great youth of Nigeria for we have a mandate to transform this country from a potentially great to a truly great nation. One fact that you must understand, as a youth, is that leadership is not the same as someone standing before you to say let's go this way. Leadership is a mentality of assumed responsibility. It's a mentality that says i can make a difference, I am responsible. It is rather disappointing to know that a typical Nigerian youth has the mentality of differed responsibility. So when you talk about generation lacking leadership, I agree with you to the point of saying that many people in this generation are still looking for a messiah, they're seeking someone who will save Nigeria and create employment for its teeming population, thereby depriving themselves the opportunity of exhibiting the leadership knack in them. As a way forward, we need to define the values of our nation. In 2008, 420 young leaders under the tutelage of Fela Durotoye adopted ten values as their guilding principle to effective leader ship. These included making a positive impact on anyone and everywhere, being solution providers rather than being a part of the problem to be solved, being a role model and the best in every action/decision and doing the right thing at all time regardless of whom is doing the wrong thing. If we bring these values to our consciousness, then we will surely have a great nation. The current moment is where our better future begins. The past gave us a wealth of memories and experience, but the present gives us a chance to use them wisely in creating an exciting future. We become a powerful force when each of us understands how powerful all of us are and when each of us understands how powerful all of us are and when all of us understand how valuable each of us is. We can change leadership, and we can change the direction of our nation for the better. We have the chance, we have the capacity, we have the ability. The elements are all there, including the freedom to try. The decision lies within all of us. The choice is ours to transform this nation from a potentially great nation to a truly great nation. The time is now. If not us, who? If not now, when?

Fashion is one of the most dynamic and trending activity in the society. "Looking good is good business" is actually a motivation, perhaps, a practical reason for the recurrent change in dress sense, make up, style, etc. 21st century fashion has been seasoned with a modern slang "Slay Queen." The word "slay" according to Naija.com, is been used in a connotative way to describe a lady with a luxurious lifestyle even when she lives in the poorest neighbourhood and struggles to stay on her feet. You can find them on instagram, WeChat, SnapChat, Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms where they showcase expensive things they don't own or are likely not to own. This trend has been adopted by female corps members, it is no longer a new thing that female corps members have dared to challenge the norms of NYSC dress code by refrashioning their Khakis to suit their fashion taste: what they considered "wearable" corps members actually resew their Khaki trouser which becomes Non -Standard or wear different kinds of white tops on their Khaki trouser and this outside the dress code of NYSC. Being a Slay Queen/Corps members requires dual personality but irrespective of the duality, they all look, dress, and behave the same way. They are few traits that can describe a slay corper. MAKEUP: A typical Slay queen who is a corps member who will never leave home or either PPA or CDS without makeup. You can barely see their "real face" she takes hours making up and making sure she comes out perfect. PICTURES AND SOCIAL MEDIA ADDICT: Slay corps member is a picture and social media addict, she cannot live without social media as this is the only platform which serves as a market where she can sell herself. When taking these pictures, their poses are awkward, uncomfortable, and unnatural - tucked stomach, jut out butt and curved legs. These pictures are taken around expensive cars or beautiful structures. DRESSCODE: Corpers slaying in their Khaki have challenged NYSC dress code. They resew their trouser and make it "pencil/carrot" toward the hem or attach elastic at the hem of the trouser. Some wear a different kind of white top or a top that is totally different (Camouflage or different coloured top). This is actually degrading to the scheme as it is not a fashion parade or show. source: https://destinedboy..com/2018/12/caution-life-of-slay-corpers-is-useless.html cc:ishilove cc:mynd44

A report published in the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology has said that eating leafy greens, red vegetables and berry fruits, as well as drinking orange juice, may be associated with a lower risk of memory loss over time in men. The study author, Dr. Changzheng Yuan of Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston said in the report, “One of the most important factors in this study is that we were able to research and track such a large group of men over a 20-year period of time, allowing for very telling results. Our studies provide further evidence dietary choices can be important to maintain your brain health.” According to the report, the study looked at 27,842 men with an average age of 51 who were all health professionals. Participants filled out questionnaires about how many servings of fruits, vegetables and other foods they had each day at the beginning of the study and then every four years for 20 years. A serving of fruit is considered one cup of fruit or half cup of fruit juice. It read in part, “Changes in memory reported by the participants would be considered precursors to mild cognitive impairment. A total of 55 percent of the participants had good thinking and memory skills, 38 percent had moderate skills and seven per cent had poor thinking and memory skills. “The participants were divided into five groups based on their fruit and vegetable consumption. For vegetables, the highest group ate about six servings per day, compared to about two servings for the lowest group. For fruits, the top group ate about three servings per day, compared to half a serving for the bottom group. The men who consumed the most vegetables were 34 percent less likely to develop poor thinking skills than the men who consumed the least amount of vegetables. A total of 6.6 per cent of men in the top group developed poor cognitive function, compared to 7.9 per cent of men in the bottom group. The men who drank orange juice every day were 47 per cent less likely to develop poor thinking skills than the men who drank less than one serving per month. This association was mainly observed for regular consumption of orange juice among the oldest men. “A total of 6.9 percent of men who drank orange juice every day developed poor cognitive function, compared to 8.4 percent of men who drank orange juice less than once a month. This difference in risk was adjusted for age, but not adjusted for other factors related to reported changes in memory. “The men who ate the most fruit each day were less likely to develop poor thinking skills, but that association was weakened after researchers adjusted for other dietary factors that could affect the results, such as consumption of vegetables, fruit juice, refined grains, legumes and dairy products. The researchers also found that people who ate larger amounts of fruits and vegetables 20 years earlier were less likely to develop thinking and memory problems, whether or not they kept eating larger amounts of fruits and vegetables about six years before the memory test.”

There was a big celebration at the police office after a notorious Boko Haram Commander was arrested recently in Lagos. Top police officers and their subordinates popped bottles of champagne to rejoice over the arrest of the suspect, Abdulmalik Umar, said to have been responsible for the deaths of more than 200 people. According to police report, the suspect said to be the gang-leader which allegedly killed seven police officers at Galadimawa roundabout, some police officers in Lugbe and Gwagwalada areas in Abuja as well as leading several bank robberies in Ondo, Edo and other southern states. It was gathered that 39-year-old Umar was the grand commander of the attack and rescue operations of the Prison in Niger State early this year where he lost one of his eyes during the operation which led to the escape of over 100 prisoners. Umar, was arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police (IG) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) around Mowe at a nurse’s house where he was receiving treatment for the bullet wounds he sustained during a recent gun battle with the police in Abuja. He had fled Abuja three weeks ago when some of his gang members were apprehended. He was arrested along with four of his Gang members as the police recovered 4 AK-47 rifles and hundreds of ammunition. source https://destinedboy..com/2018/12/hilarious-police-men-pop-champagne-to.html cc:mynd44 cc:ishilove
