eejo:Yes, I am black. The day we start supporting our people with solution to our problem instead of tribe and religion, that will be the end of poverty. |
eejo:Many Nigerians risk losing their money, businesses, homes, and even their lives over the next 25 years because several powerful crises are converging at the same time. First is climate change combined with poor urban planning. Flooding, erosion, and desertification are already destroying communities. Coastal areas and riverine states face repeated floods, while northern farmlands are turning to desert. With weak drainage systems and no serious resettlement plans, millions may become internally displaced, losing homes and livelihoods. Second is the collapse of agriculture and rising food insecurity. Insecurity keeps farmers away from their land, climate change reduces yields, and high costs of inputs make farming unprofitable. This leads to food shortages, higher prices, hunger, and malnutrition, especially among children, which fuels crime and social unrest. Third is widespread insecurity, including banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and communal conflicts. These make transportation risky, shut down businesses, discourage investment, and destroy local economies, trapping communities in poverty. Fourth is the youth unemployment crisis. Nigeria’s rapidly growing population is producing millions of job seekers yearly, but the economy is not creating enough jobs. Large numbers of frustrated, idle youths increase the risk of crime, violence, and political instability. Fifth is economic instability. Inflation and a weak naira are eroding savings and profits. Many small businesses collapse under rising costs and debt, pushing more families into poverty. Finally, weak institutions and corruption worsen every problem. Funds for development and disaster response are often misused, infrastructure is neglected, and laws are poorly enforced. This means crises are not prevented and victims are not properly supported. Because Nigeria combines climate risks, food insecurity, conflict, rapid population growth, and weak governance at once, the country faces the danger of an unprecedented humanitarian crisis unless urgent reforms and long-term planning are implemented. |
Account balance is 150,000 naira but there's a sponsor who will cater for all expenses. The purpose for the trip is for OSCE exams. Good? |

guobe:I am broke and unemployed. Thank you. |
diggy4real:What do you suggest for a Public admin graduate? 33 years and can paint. |

Pay of 30,000-40,000 naira per month. Which kind slavery be that? Transport will cost me almost 1,000 naira per day. I reject am by fire by force. |
Which kind wahala be this? I will resign this week if I don't receive my salary. Before I scatter something. |
BItt:Others have gotten theirs. But a friend that joined the company same time with me has not received his own too. |
bigtt76:That's leather. It is like eating your old sandals. |
Adel3ke:I don check am again. Nothing dey there. |
Adel3ke:Balance? Only if you knew how many times I check my account daily. |
Few hours before we head into the new year, I haven't received my salary for the month of December. I got a small job towards the end of the year. The dude in charge of payment sent messages to everyone that payment has been made. I complained that I haven't received mine and no reply from the dude. How do you sleep at night knowing you didn't pay someone his salary to enjoy his Christmas/new year? He's enjoying his fried chicken somewhere while I'm stuck with ponmo. This is really depressing!! |

eejo:Poverty is the reason. Africa is a poor continent. When one lives in wealthy countries, tribe and religion is hardly an issue. |
I have received the 10k. Thank you so much eejo |

This is why some Nigerians are easily divided along ethnic and religion lines. 1. Upbringing and Socialization: How are Nigerian children raised by their parents? Some are taught at a younger age that their tribes are better than others. When such a person grows up, he/she see the other tribe as the enemy. 2: Religious institutions: Some religious institutions preach hate messages against others. This indoctrination at a younger age poses a big problem when they grow up. 3: Ignorance: Lack of exposure and knowledge can make the masses be willing tools in the hands of bad leaders who can divide them along ethnic and religious lines 4. Biased reporting and stereotypes in the media: When the media doesn't give out fair news in it's report, it ends up stereotyping a particular tribe to one negative trait. This sticks in the mind of the viewer/readers, which end up shaping how they see that tribe. 5: Finally, lack of love. If there's love, we should call a spade a spade, irrespective of tribe or religion. |
studM:Thanks for the offer but I live in Aba. Lagos is far. |
The situation is terrible. Getting a job that needs transport to and fro now looks like slavery . I previously created a topic about an employer that refused to disclose salary range. Days ago on Facebook, I posted in a group that I needed a job that can pay at least 100,000 naira monthly. Same employer contacted me. I had to remind him that we have spoken before. This time, he had no choice but decided to state the salary. It's a position of a secretary and he's said the salary is 40k. Transport to and fro will cost me 1,000 daily. So let's assume 25,000 naira is spent on transport, leaving a balance of 15,000 naira. Will 15,000 naira be enough to feed me in a month? That's 500 naira a day. Can 166 naira put food on the table? Other expenses nko? I told him it can't work for me. And he asked me to find anyone that can take the job. This life eh.. Sometimes, I wish the night never ends. Cos once it's morning, depression sets in. When will this phase be over? |

I think this job doesn't need anyone that will spend money on transport. |
