Chapter 40

The tunnel way led them outside the borders of Pearl Village, surprised at such method, Kate looked at Chase and back at the hunter with her.

"From here goes two different route and all traces are gone, we have to split, you and Chase, go north, I'll take the south route" Kate suggested and without hesitation Chase and the hunter dashed off.

"Good, I don't need anyone holding me back, I need to unleash all angers in me at them, they're just few meters ahead " she said within herself as she watched the hunter and Chase disappeared into the dark.

"Argghhhh" one of the kidnappers shouted in pain as Clare sunk her teeth into his left wrist.

He grabbed Claire by the hair and threw her to the ground, with annoyance, he smacked her on the stomach with his feet, repeating the process

"Let get go!!" Jemima shouted, bamging hard on the cage, and at the same time helpless.

"I'll just send you to hell" the man shouted as he smoked her hard

"Anyone of you who dares rubbish will meet worse fate than her " he said as he walked to his camel and brought out a whip.

He loosed it and lashed it on the air, walking closer to Clare. With a wicked look on his face, he lashed the whip, raised his hand in the air and sent it hardly at Clare.

Something dropping from the sky caught the attention of the man, looking up above, he saw Kate's eyes, glowing red, a furious expression on her face.

"Chhhaaaaaaa" Kate screamed as she dropped down, above the man, getting closer, she sent a blow directly at his head.

The force sent the man's head deep into his body, splashing blood out from the shoulders.

Kate landed before the man and slammed her leg on his chest which sent him off, crashing against the metal cage.

"This is why I avoid taking matters into my own hands" Kate said and smiled wicked, an aura of evil oozing out all around her.

The remaining three kidnappers dropped down from their camels, approaching her.

The leader of the group turned into a flaming human and elevated into the air, and shot out larva from his hands at Kate who put her hand across her face, blocking it off.

The larva burnt deep into her arms and almost immediately her hands began to heal.

"This is trouble, no one has ever taken my larva and still be in one piece" the man muttered and flew straight at Kate.

Kate grabbed him by the neck and used her right hand to smack his head off his body.

"I'm getting fired up" Kate muttered, growling like a wild beast and let out a smile on the corner of her lips.

The remaining two dashed at her, one shooting out stone darts out from his hand. Kate felt something grip her leg and looked down and back at the other man.

The stone dart smacked through her body, tearing her clothes and getting stocked in her body to prevent it from healing.

"Soil paralysis, decomposition begin " the other man said from distance.

A huge termite popped out from beneath Kate's leg and struck their teeth deep into Kate's legs and began chewing.

"Huhnmm, such trick is not enough to get me, Glass transparency " Kate muttered and became invisible.

The man shooting the stone darts suddenly felt a grip around his neck and suddenly his throat was pulled out alongside his lower jaw.

The next man before he could decide his next move, his body was splutter into half from the stomach.

Lord Supreme and Kareem stood at the entrance of Pearl Slum and stared at one another clueless on what next to do.

"We need someone who knows the slum to be our ears and do the needful" Kareem said and sighed.

"The Chase guy, he would do, I'll invite him over and we plan this out, we never expected this demon war to have such repercussions "

"Hmm, about that, Julius sent a message, we have less than a month before our biggest fear arrives" Kareem said and gulped.

Kate pulled Mama Nana closer by the collar and smacked her a loud slap on the face which immediately led her ear to burst out blood.

"You messed with the wrong girls " Kate shouted as the hunters dragged her off away from Mama Nana who was been returned back to prison.

Chapter 39

A huge figure walled out, from the dark corner the voice had come from, almost twice of Kate in height and a wide body frame alongside.

"What brings you here? " the man asked with a wicked smile.

"You must be Icarus " Kate said grinning.

"Yes"

"Where is my daughter" Kate said bitting her lower lips.

Icarus looked up into the sky, and looked back at Kate.

"Here is not a safe place to talk, follow me" Icarus said and suddenly disappeared into the dark, while his men also do same.

Kate and the hunter with her, walked into a moist smelly room, roughly arranged, tattered clothes for cotton, broken plates and totally disorganized surrounding.

"There have been a low key child trafficking here in Pearl for about three months and counting, we kept on sending letters to Lord Supreme but none of it was attended to, when discovered that letters were sent Icarus would kill who sent it"

"What you're not Icarus? " The hunter asked

"I'm not, my name is Chase, I only played along, cause we needed help and seeing you with a hunter, means you're someone of importance " Chase said and felt sad.

"Do you have any lead? " Kate asked calmly.

"There are rumours that there is a tunnel below Pearl that allows these smugglers entrance and exit, so the security system of Pearl does not hinder them, since it does not run deep into the ground" Chase said .

"Any idea where this tunnel is? " the hunter asked.

"It suppose to be in a shop, probably one that attracts kids" Chase said.

"What shop could that be" Kate said confused.

"We will crosscheck registered shops in the register, maybe we could pinpoint something" Kate said and turned around to leave.

"Chase, I'll need you to come along as well, you have knowledge we dont" The hunter said as he head out.

Kate sat down on Lord Supreme's chair and spread out the registry scroll before her .

"there are a total of fifty five shops here in Pearl and all registered, which means we are at a dead end"

Chase walked closer and took a look at the scroll and suddenly something hit his mind.

"All name here, there is only one I know, Mama Nana toy shop, she lives in the slum and runs a shop up Pearl, normally no one from the slum should be able to run something this large, and here her return value says 12 silver per month, for someone giving 12 silver per month to the village treasury as tax, that should should have been closed down for long but how she sustains it is a question" Chase said.

"You're brighter than you look" Kate said and stood up "Quick, we have to search that shop, I'll get a warrant, while you two go ahead"

Kate also phased through the brick wall of the toy shop, trying to figure her way around the dark with the others.

Chase hands illuminated, tuning the level of brightness, he finally found a suitable dim light that would still bright their way.

"This place looks as all it is, only toy shelves " The hunter said looking around.

They all heard a faint voice in the shop and quickly Chase put out his illuminating hand. A candle light shine behind a shelf, the rays popping put through the tiny spaces of the shelf.

The shelf slowly moved aside revealing Mama Nana walking out. Mama Nana hastened her feet out of the shop, suspecting nothing .

Kate and the others cane out hiding and walked towards the shelf and moved it aside, revealing a tunnel that ran deep into the ground.

"This is our final lead, We don't know what to expect in here, I'll lend you part of my power house to go invicible, we have to move fast, I can only share limited power with stronger people" Kate said and looked at the tunnel way.

"Hmmphhh" Chase sighed and nodded in approval.

Chapter 38

Maze and Amen woke up first, feeling heavy on the head, they both yawned as the picked up their weak selves up and watched as their fathers snores out loudly.

"We really went boozed up" Amen said scratching his head

"Yeah, how long were we out? "Maze asked and looked around.

Three caged carts, filled with under aged children, were pulled through the desert by camels, which had straps around their body that allowed pulling the carts around the desert.

Claire slowly opened her eyes, feeling dizzy, she tried catching a glimpse of her surrounding and found others like her, and catching a quick glimpse at Jemima who was on the next cart.

"Hey, hey, let us out" Claire shouted, banging against the iron cage in a bid to use her brutal strength to ram through it.

She let out a slight groan as her hands began to bleed.

"Silence there" the man riding the camel that pulled Claire's cage along shouted with a grin on his face.

Jemima heaved and spoke to her from her own cage.

"It's useless, my strength does nothing to it"

"Tch, that's right kid, those cages are made if special grade curse metal that damps your power, because if trouble children like you" another man said and they all laughed out loudly

Both Lord Supreme and Kareem received a loud slap on their faces, feeling little pain, they ask slowly opened their eyes and saw Lord Supreme's wife Naomi standing above them, next to her were Amen and Maze.

Kareem sat upright, scrubbing his eyes roughly with his palms before let out a long loud yawn.

"The girls are missing " Kate said, disgusted at her husband who was dead drunk.

Kareem hiccuped and collaosed back to the ground. Kate sighed and turned around.

"Guess I'll just act for myself" she said as she stormed out of the house.

Kate moved from one store to another, places she knew Clare could be, after hours of searching and the day getting darker, she found a place to rest and sighed as many thought ran through her mind.

She hurriedly stood up and took to her heels, running to the village main entrance and exit point.

"Has anyone see my daughter and Jemima? " she asked as she got closer to the guards on duty.

"No, not at all, no one has gone out since evening hours"

Kate heaved and stood still for a moment.

"Dispatch a search party, something is wrong with them, I can tell" Kate said and gave more searching orders.

Jemima beckoned to one of the captors to come closer.

"I want to pee" she said wriggling her body uneasily.

"A means to run off, pee right where you are" the MN replied and banged the cage.

Kate ran through the empty street, dashing further into the slums of Pearl Village, she suddenly stood still, upon the unbelievable sight before her.

Bony looking children littered around the street, skinny adults also, tattered roof and broken buildings.

"Hugh, and here is also part of pearl village? " she asked the male hunter next to her.

"It was actually unused land portion of pearl before now, but after each war and fights, the economy breaks down, although not reflected, but these are the people who suffers the aftermath of war, they have no voice to speak up, and it's strange, someone must be feeding on these people, I never imagined a sight to be this horrible"

Kate walked closer to an aged man and went on her knees before speaking

"I'm looking for a girl"

The man picked himself up, mumbling inaudible words as he scurried away.

"That's odd" Kate said as she approached another who quickly took off also.

"Lord Supreme is so focused on saving the village, he forgot that it is being eaten from within" the hunter said.

"Something truly isn't right here" Kate said and looked up at the moon.

"This place has something that needs attention and linked with my girls"

Kate gulped down the water the hunter gave to her and returned the bamboo made container, with a smile of gratitude on her face.

"Who leads this slum? " Kate barked as she approached a man and held him by the arm firmly.

"It's Icarus " the man said and freed himself "You look too fresh to be in the slum, return back to the better life of Pearl" The man said and dashed off.

"He doesn't even know me" Kate thought and sighed.

"You ask of me" a thick husky voice said from a dark corner and next were hefty men walking out of the dark all around, each holding to hard woods.

Amen yawned as he jumped out of bed, feeling rejuvenated, he headed to the rest room got himself prepared and ran down to the living room, he greeted his mother who responded back, without batting an eye at him, since she was busy with something else

Amen opened the door and saw Maze, Jemima, Michell, Kareem, Dan and Layla walking into the compound.

"Huhhn" Amen said in awe

"Amen, I see you are prepared already " Kareem said as they got closer to the main building

"Prepared, for what Mr. Kareem?" Amen asked.

"The family food war, this year I've chosen to tug with your family, a lot has been ignored since I left and the lively Pearl Village has become so boring and full of sorrow " Kareem said and smiled.

"So its proper we bring those old things we did that brought us joy, even at the face of death" Dan chipped in, holding Layla's hand

"Huhn, and who is she? " Amen asked pointing at Layla.

"The Kareem always win, Maze, you're three bowl down, I'll disown you if you lose to Amen" Kareem shouted, already drunk.

Maze could feel his eyes popping out as he sent down a full bowl of hot soup down his throat, and threw the bowl to the piles of bowl next to him.

Amen also with protruding belly, grunted as he forced another bowl down.

"Come on son, that's number twenty, you're just started " Lord Supreme shouted and moved closer to Amen and began rubbing his shoulder.

"What kind if game is this, old men behaving like kids" Layla said beneath her breathe and stood to leave.

"You dare not take another step" Kareem said drunk and signaled her to come forward

Maze and Amen did the last bowl and both collapsed to the ground.

"We don't do ties, here gulp this down " Lord Supreme said and slide a bowl at Amen.

The bowl tripped over spilling the soup to the ground.

"How dare you? " Lord Supreme said grunting at Kareem and suddenly appeared before him and rammed a blow at his face.

The force sent Kareem off his feet, making him crash out of the house.

Everyone gasped looking at Kareem lay still face down to the ground, through the huge hole he made on the wall.

"Jem, let's go, its boring here" Claire said and tom the lead.

One by one everyone including Dan left, leaving, the boys and their fathers sub conscious.

Jemima and Claire both walked into a toy shop, both awed by the carving and uniqueness of each metal and wooden made toys on display, they both walked closer to the woman who would be attending to them and let put bright smile.

"We want ran popular lady mannequin toy, dad promised to get me one, but he is always too busy" Jemima said and brought out a sack full of coins

"That's a lot of money you have there" the lady said, leaning over the table.

"Dad gibes me his purse to keep"

The lady smirked and let out an evil grin on the left corner of her lips.

"Follow me" the lady said and opened a door that led to another inner room.

As both Jemima and Claire walked into the room, they felt sharp pain on their neck and instantly went numb.

The last giggled and turned around, pick up the money purse and threw it in mid air, caught it and smiled.

"You've brought them, as usual, these ones look really healthy and well, I'll part with fifty gold coins for them" a masuckine voice said from the dark and next emeged a lanky looking man.

"Fifty for each " the lady said, haggling the price.

"Tech" the man grunted and threw a purse at the woman who caught it.

"That's hundred" the man said and behind him, two other men emerged and picked up the bodies, and placed them on there shoulders.

"Take the south tunnel, we can't risk the hunters seeing us, this tunnel has served us well, running smooth business in Pearl Village " the man said and chuckled

Amen sneaked out of the house, through the window of his room and swiftly leaped over the fence, getting closer to the village exit, he watched the guards on duty closely sighed, there was no way he could evade them all without being noticed, either by the guards or the upgraded village defense system.

"According to the book, void users can use spatial magic" he said to himself and looked up towards the direction where the former Joy used to stay, looked at the moonlight and sighed.

He strained as he struggled to open a portal before himself, only for the portal to close back as soon as it came open.

"Tch, this is tougher than I had imagined, but I can't go back, so you have to come open" he said and threw his hands forward.

Immediately the portal came open, Amen dived into it and rolled out right outside the village, distance away from the main entrance.

"Phew, that was close" he said and looked at the little hem of his cloth that got cut off, because the portal closed on it.

He quickly picked himself up and dashed into the woods

Kareem walked in on Julius and Lord Supreme and leaned on the wall, after pleasantries were exchanged.

"You keep on risking your life " Kareem said to Julius.

"We can't afford surprise attack, someone needs to check the balance and that's how I found out about the Divine tree, that is drawing war to us" Julius replied and heaved.

"What info do you have that os urgent you came this morning? " Lord Supreme asked.

"While searching for answers, I had to search for the rare human race of Soul watchers, they have a long history of keeping the divine tree, it happened that the tree is a source of life itself, which can be handled by gods like Kareem "

Kareem chuckled and spoke "I have a feeling this has to do with me"

"It has everything to do with you, first you brought Jemima to reality with the power of that tree, a seed"

Kareem widened his face and walled closer to Julius.

"While I was sent here, I was given a seed by my father, he told me lives would depend on it, that seed was with me, during my supposed dying moment, when I wished I had a female child " Kareem said

"That makes sense, the power of the seed is manifesting, thereby drawing foes " Julius said.

"Does that mean, this same people killed my entire species of gods? " Kareem asked.

"A high chance of that, and I found out that seed geminated to become Jemima, and that tree is ready for harvest " Julius concluded.

"Let them come, the blood of my brothers cry for vengeance " Kareem said ad tightened his fist.

"Easy there, if these people could wipe out your whole existence, it means they are thousand times stronger than you and I combined, Kareem " Lord Supreme said and stared at Kareem.

Amen panted as he forced his way through thick woods, interlocked into each other.

"It should be here, the temple should be here" he said standing in the middle of the thick vast wood.

He took a step closer and suddenly fell into vast emptiness, falling like it was an endless pit.

"Its two minutes and I'm still falling" he said as he tried adjusting his eyes to the darkness.

Looking down, he began seeing glimpse of light, at first faint lights as he dropped further, it became brighter.

Amen fell hard to the ground and let out a loud cry of agony, he curled into himself as he felt pains run through his entire body.

"You made it" he heard the familiar feminine voice say before him.

He slowly raised up his head and saw Lilith sitting on a throne made of bone and beneath her were numerous skulls.

"Lilith? " Amen said straining.

"Master, shall we begin? " Lilith said and stood up, standing about seven feet in height.

Lord Supreme walked up to Kareem who sat at the dead end of the mountain in the village and sat next to him, he let out a soft sigh and spoke.

"Didn't know I'd see you here, like old times, we both come here to clear our head" Lord Supreme said and smiled.

"For the first time in my life, i'm scared " Kareem said and looked up at the sky "If someone that strong is coming, do we stand a chance? "

The black circle tattoo around Lord Supreme's wrist slowly faded away and beside an image formed up, turning into a fine young looking man.

"Fanada" Kareem said "I think I prefer you in your wolf form" Kareem said calmly

"If this threat is as tough as you said, then we need to convert our enemies to friends to fight beside us, the top tier demons and the extinct dwarves, these forces combined is enough strength for us" Fanada said.

"Good point, even if we find the dwarves, do you think they would be willing to risk being known by humans to still be alive? " Lord Supreme asked.

"I'll bring their dead bodies with me, if they refuse such offer to help, it affects every species on the earth" Kareem said and stood up.

"I'll personally send word to all villages and every species of humans and beings, anyone who refuses should die before I get to them" Kareem said.

Chapter 35

Amen ran as fast as his legs could carry him, dodging the metal bullets that came at him, he slide on the ground and splitter himself into two.

"Tch, I will die at this rate" he muttered as his clone got hit by the metal bullet and dispersed into the air.

"Air void" he said as he ran forward.

He leaped into the dark portal that came open before him and disappeared.

"Where is he? " Dan muttered from where hr stood at the top floor of the training ground.

Maze gasped at the skill, but at the same time, he knew something was off.

"I have never seen him use that skill except if he is using it as a defense to draw in attack" Michell said.

"And he is taking longer to return " Jemima chipped in.

Dan leaped down from the top floor and landed softly before the man dressed in red overall cloth, his nose downward also covered.

"Your student, did he just forfiet? " the man asked.

"No, Gera, he has never used that skill, I think your student went al out on him" Dan replied and looked at the boy standing afar.

"I thought your students were strong"

"If Amen went all out, it would be the end of your student career, Captain Gera, but something isn't right" Dan said and looked towards the upper floor at his students

Amen found himself floating freely in total darkness, his heartbeat xouoe be heard clearly, he grunted as he tried to get a trip of himself and noticed a white light above him.

He strained as he tried floating towards the light, he stretched his hands forward towards the light and suddenly found himself standing in a room filled with fresh skulls and afar was a lady seated on a bone throne.

"Finally a visitor " the lady said and stood up, descended the throne and slowly began to approach Amen.

"So you are the one who controls the void! " the lady asked as she walked forward.

"Who are you and please where am I? " Amen asked calmly.

"You don't know, this is a world you alone can come into to find solace, like your ancestors before you, I am the void spirit, more like your companion " the lady said and stood inches before Amen and gave him a stern look.

"The skulls, you're more of a demon"

"This" she said and pointed at the skulls "are the enemies your ancestors sent into this void, enemies they could not defeat, we sent here, or those who they wish to break their spirit" she said and suddenly was sitting on the throne.

"Huhn, its a sham, how do I return? "

"Whenever you wish little one " she replied and giggled. "We will be meeting soon for our bounding rituals, by the way my name is Lilith"

"Weird powers you all keep displaying " Maze said and sighed as they walked down the village street

"Says a demi god" Michell replied and spanked Maze on the head.

"No, hey! You don't have the right to talk to me" Amen replied and smirked at Jemima.

Lord Supreme received a scroll from Kareem and opened it, after going through the content, he smiled and stacked the scroll.

"Taking care of one threat another one arises, who knows if another is lurking around? " Lord Supreme said and took his seat.

"According to Julius, they are after a divine thing, probably embedded in a human child" Kareem said "I have a really bad feeling about this, we need to find whatever it is, but where do we start looking from! "

Chapter 34

Layla ran out from the village, advancing deep into the woods, her bow on her right hand, while she forged forward, running as fast as her legs could carry her.

She suddenly halted, seeing Lord Supreme walk out behind a tree before her, blank expression written all over her face.

"It takes more than a Will Scorpion to take me out" Lord Supreme said and threw the lifeless scorpion to the ground "During the fight I got a glimpse of you and told Dan to get along, you see we've learnt and now always a step ahead, WHO ARE YOU? "

Layla gulped and stretched out her bow, pulled the string and slowly an arrow appeared on it.

"Seriously? " Lord Supreme said and slammed his hands together.

The bow flew of Layla's grip and floated towards Lord Supreme who caught it in the air and ran his eyes through it.

"This should only he wield by who it chooses, right? Now tell me who you are" Lord Supreme said and bit his lower lips as he pulled the string, making three arrows appear on it.

Layla moved back on fright, sweat already breaking through her fave pores.

"Three, at a time, he is over powered than what I was told, why does nature keeps cheating the weak, him, Kareem, Dan, Julius, Joy, the kids, all strong entity only in one village" Layla thought within herself, visibly shaking.

Kareem walked into the cave and pulled down his nose cover and yawned loudly, his voice echoing in return.

"Who is home, I come in peace! " Kareem shouted as he and Joy advanced deeper into the cave.

Kareem continued with a mischievous smile on his face, catching the glimpse of lower demons blending with the darker part of the cave, scared of his presence.

"To what do we owe this pleasant arrival of yours " A voice said from above.

Kareem raised his head up and saw an entrance above the cave.

"Give me your hands" he ordered Joy who didn't hesitate.

He elevated steadily into the air, holding firm to Joy, getting to the other section, Kareem let go off her hand and came to a running landing.

Before him were the three top tier demons standing before the huge round stone table.

"A standing ovation, I come in peace and with a benefitting proposal" Kareem said and walked forward, continued passed them and sat on one of the stone chairs.

"Come on take your seat let's have a heartful discussion and I want all demons gathered in this hall" Kareem said and placed his legs on the table, while Joy stood beside him.

Every demon gathered in the cave hall filling it completely to the brim, while the top demons had their place on the stone chairs.

"Question one, what would you depends on, when you finally destroy humans, doesn't that mark the beginning of your extinction? " Kareem asked srcathing his head.

"I guess I would never understand, since I am never a demon" Kareem said and stood up "here with me is a cure to your demonic status, I believe you all were once human, and still have that human consciousness, its a chance to Starr afresh"

Loud murmurs suddenly erupted, the discomfort plainly written on the faces of the top demons.

"You can just come in here and talk trash" North demon shouted and flarred up, taking up her transformation.

"I didn't ask you to talk" Kareem barked at her and pointed to her seat.

"Such audacity he commands" East demon said within himself and scoffed "Even I the strongest can't stand toe to toe with this man or rather a god"

"Who needs the cure, move behind me" Kareem said "Its not must, you'll only give my students the chance to use you as a real time training"

Muffled voices came from the very back and slowly a path was made, revealing Amen and the others bounded and tied.

"We have your children, even better, we needed the girl, her blood is all we needed" East demon said and stood up "the tide has turned" he said and chuckled.

"No one wants your cure, we never asked for it, demons!! We have our answers, her blood will grant us infinite powers, longetivity.... "

"Tch, howany more dull heads are in here? " Kareem said and sat down.

"She is my daughter and you know what I am capable of" Kareem said and stretched his hand forward.

He appeared on the table with his sword on his left hand, walked closer to East demon and suddenly slashed his head off his body. East demon's head fell on the table, Kareem placed his let on it and smashed it.

Lord Supreme stretched his hands and waited patiently till Layla grabbed it and stood her to her feet, handed her bow over to her and smiled.

"The demon threat has ended, everyone is safe, you should have come plain, we are always ready to help" he said and smiled again

"Its Kareem on the mission, but I fear something thoughts is coming so fast" Lord Supreme said and turned around "I have to return back to the village, I can't be gone for long" He said and disappeared.

Kareem yawned loudly as the cured demons slowly walked out from the hall, he turned to the top demons and smiled.

"You refused the cure, well you're alone, but let me say this, if I hear rumors of a new demon, I'll come for both of you at ones"

Chapter 33

Lord Supreme watched the sky from the wide window space in his office, straining his eyes to have a view of the demon eye in the sky,million thought running through his mind.

"Is the eye becoming visible? " Kareem asked, walking in with Dan.

"Rarely visible, another attack in three months or less " Lord Supreme replied and turned around to face them.

"We can't sit around and wait for them to attack again, we barely survived and it took two of us to take down the beta demon, even when using twenty five percent of our strength" Dan chipped in.

"That is why I summouned you" Lord Supreme replied.

"Seems like you're about bossing me around, tch" Kareem replied and scoffed.

"Yes, I thought you and Joy could infiltrate their base, send them q lovely message" Lord Supreme replied and sat down. "Since after the first invsiom, they've been lesser sighting and demon attack all over, seems they are recruiting and having larger army"

"If it happens to be so, then its game over for us, but hoe are they surviving for long if they don't feast on human? Isn't that a concern? " Kareem replied.

"Hmm, now that you have talked on that, I'll ask Julius to carry out investigation on that, but it might take time sending the message across to him"

"That old hag still refuses to base in the village" Kareem said and titled his head to the left.

Lord Supreme grabbed a scroll from the table drawer and passed it to Dan.

"Pass this message to them" he said "Alright, go and dont die on me, or else I visit you in hell and kill you again"

Jemima waved her hands till Kareem and Joy disappeared into the distance off to carry out their mission. Maze sighed and turned around to take his leave and saw Amen walking up to him smiling mischievously

"Why does the adult keep having all the fun? " Amen asked and sighed, then folded his hands.

"Its not fun, they are capable of handling the situation " Jrkika replied and kicked Amen on the leg.

"Hey, and we are not? "

"We still have a one year and three month hunter ban on us, don't suggest anything stupid" Maze replied and walked passed him.

"Not anything stupid, we can just tag along, and prove our worth, don't you think we need to take that ban off us as soon as possible, if we don't act other hunters on our level will see us as nothing" Amen said calmly

"Hmm, persistent goat, common, Jemima you stay behind" Maze said.

Kareem tossed a dried meat over to Joy as they ascended the hill before them, Kareem moving steadily like he was on plain ground, while Joy struggled with placing her feet right.

"We should be getting close, eat up, you need strength, especially going against your people"

Getting to the top of the hill, Kareem smiled, seeing the huge cave like castle for afar.

"You can't see it yet, but its one mighty cave, you are only going because you know them, you can sit out the fight " Kareem said and put on his hood.

"Every demon regrets being one, we are with enough cure, if Kird Supreme gave me a chance, I'm also willing to give others "

"Put on your hood, the road ahead is dusty and we will be having extra hand, the kids are tagging along, such adventurous spirit in them" Kareem said and pulled up a piece of cloth to cover hid node downward.

Layla sneaked through the walks that led to Lord Supreme's office, getting closer to the door, she leaned on the wall, and from her right hand dropped to the ground a scorpion which crawled into the office through the opening beneath the door.

"Arghh" Lord Supreme grunted from inside and next cane crashing if table.

"Got him" she said and smiled wickedly to herself and quickly moved out.

Chapter 32

West Demon juggled the human head with him from one hand to another, seated on his own seat by the round stone table, his legs placed on the table.

"What is your end game? " South demon asked as she walked in on him.

West demon ignored her question, and continued with what he was doing.

"I asked a question"

"You bother with what you shouldn't, and my end game is beyoung your comprehension" he replied and snapped his fingers, which in return made the skull disappears.

West demon stood up and walked closer to South demon and suddenly grabbed her by the neck.

"You should know you place flea, the only reason you're alive is me, and I don't mind putting you out of your misery" he said and even made his grip tighter.

"You plan on backstabbing us after defeating the humans, we are just a pun to you " South demon replied, feeling sore on the throat.

"You're right, I can't let you all take advantage and now that you know, how shall I deal with you? "

"You can't kill me, I command the largest army here and I operate the Demon eye, you need me"

"Really? " West Demon asked sarcastically and dipped his emerging talons into her neck.

"Let's test that out" he said and snapped her neck "When you gain consciousness, I hope you understand I stand above you all" he said and dropped her to the ground.

Amen grumbled as he paced around the training hall, kicking the air. Jemima and Michell seated by the entrance while Maze made himself comfortable on the ceiling, his sword raised before him.

"Dan asked us to asked here and he is like three hours late" Amen said and cursed beneath his breathe "I am leaving"

A loud bang suddenly came from nowhere in particular, the somci wave produces, shaking the entire training hall, everyone stood alert and suddenly it came again, this time the sonic waves making a visible crack OK the wall.

"We are under attack" Amen shouted and instantly took to his heel.

Dan felt the waves and opened his eyes, he yawned as he rolled his body around and saw Layla laying beside him, fast asleep.

The waves came again, this time sending light properties on the table at the edge of the bed to the ground. Dan suddenly stood up, bare chest and ran out of the house.

"Its coming from my old man's office " Amen said as he dashed through the street, taking the shortest route, following behind were others.

Getting to Lord Supreme's building, Kareem and Lord Supreme stood facing each other, few meters away, a huge part of the main building already torn apart, a minor crater separating them, while they both breathed hard.

"Its my old man and yours, what's gotten into them? " Amen asked as he tried moving closer to them.

"This does not concern you, stay out of this" Lord Supreme said to Amen and created a tall barrier, preventing Amen from getting closer.

"Maze, Jemima, and you witch, watch as I beat sense into the garbage bag" Kareem shouted and grinned wickedly.

Dan ran to the scene and heaved a sigh of relief

"Just like old days" he said and turned around to leave.

"Dan!! "Amen shouted angrily and pointed at Dan who slowly turned around. "We waited three hours, and now you appear bare chest and rough trousers, do you mind explaining what's happening here"

Dan grinned and cursed Amen beneath his breath.

"Its a duel that never ends, every time the topic of who is the strongest comes up, they end up destroying half of the village, a piece of advice, don't go near them" Dan said and jet off, laughing awkwardly.

Lord Supreme raised his sleeve up, making one of the three circle tattoos around his wrist disappear, he moved his left leg backward, squatted the right, his fist stretched out beside him. With speed of light he dashed at Kareem and landed the punch on his face.

"I didn't see him move" Amen thought within himself "And that punch is enough to take down an entire fleet, but yet" he thought with his eyes widely open.

Kareem grinned as the punch landed on his face, not even enough to make his face move an inch, the sonic wave from punch, sent everyone around off balance and tore down more walls of the office.

"Fanada, what has the old junk been feeding you? " Kareem asked and smashed Lord Supreme, giving him an uppercut that sent him into the air.

"All I can see are flashes of light, I can't see anythin" Maze said with his mouth widely opened "they're fast"

Kareem suddenly landed to the ground from the sky, the feedback creating a six feet deep crater on the ground and the sonic wave completely damaging the Supreme building.

Kareem shhok his head and flew into the sky, and next was Lord Supreme smashing down, creating a deeper crater.

Kareem grabbed Lord Supreme by the shirt and gave him an headbutt that sent him crashing against another building in the village.

"I'll keep punching until I get that respect " Kareem shouted as he dashed at Lord Supreme.

"Not even in hell" Lord Supreme shouted back, swiftly went below Kareem and grabbed him by the leg, and with hisbstrenght, threw him crashing against another building, completely razing it down.

"It took us days of hard labout to erect this village back and they're crashing it like its paper" a demon hunter shouted at the top of his voice.

"I heard they've been that way from childhood" another replied.

The only red light in the vast room, was barely enough to reveal who they were.

Chapter 31

Kareem walked alongside Lord Supreme into his office and made themselves comfortable on the seats, Lord Supreme sighed at the sight of the numerous scrolls on both sides of the table.

"You still get pile of jobs" Kareem replied and relaxed his back.

"Yeah, it not like I have am option" Lord Supreme replied and silence followed for a short moment.

"What have you been up tp all these years? " Lord Supreme asked, breaking the silence.

"Most of it being brain dead until I came across the kids" Kareem replied and stared deep at Lord Supreme.

"Something bothers me" Kareem said and leaned forward , heaved then spoke "Jemima, she's my daughter no doubt but I still don't have any knowledge about her and I need answers, even if it doesn't matter much"

Lord Supreme gave a blank expression and ran his hands through his hair, trying hard to find the appropriate words to say.

"Huh... Hnnn, you see, I don't know much, although the research team might be able to help jiggle your memories and see what comes out"

Dan stood on the ruins of a building, supervising the cleaning up to the village and shouting out the orders. An arrow flew passed him, narrowly missing his ears and turned around, it sharp edge pointing at Dan.

"That reminds me, I saw this thing earlier during the fight" he muttered to himself and turned around.

Before him was a dark skinned lady, dressed in light feminine body armor, an illuminating bow on her hand.

"Who are you? " Dan asked as the lady approached swinging her body frame easily.

"Well, a demon hunter like you, just that I go solo, and somehow I find a liking to Pearl, I like places made of strong men" the lady replied and swayed her left hand in the air, making the arrow behind Dan fade off.

"Thanks" Dan replied calmly "I'm Dan"

"Layla" the lady replied and starred at Dan "You look exhausted, come on, I'll treat you to some nice meal" she said and smiled brightly.

"Hu... Hhnnnn"

"You have no option, only weak mean refuse a friendly invite" Layla replied and walked off.

"I am not the type to die so easily" Julius said and cleared his throat. "Before he could ram through me, I transferred my existence into cosmic space, waited patiently for my remoulding and here I am"

"I knew he was alive, he needed that time not knowing who he is to heal, bringing back his momeries at the point in time will make him run riot, and loose his mind, all I did was a favor" Julius replied.

"Then you should know about Jemima" Kareem said and stood up.

"Yes, your daughter you didn't know how she came to be" Julius replied and took a step closer to Kareem.

"Tell me" Kareem said slowly.

"Her strength, do you think it was because of the demon blood in her? Becoming a concious demon, do you think it was a coincidence? " Julius asked slowly.

Lord Supreme dropped his jaw as he felt the tension in the room increasing.

"She was born out from your out most desire, Kareem, you have powers you can't control, do you know in the blink of an eye and you thought you could create a whole new existence? You're a top tier demi god" Julius replied, placing his right hand on Kareem's chest.

"Farada in there knows this, he was casted out from his brothers , but you Kareem, what really happened to you? "

Kareem breathed in and took few steps backward, feeling feeble on the knee joints, he supported himself by bracing against the wall, and began breathing heavily

"On that night, it happened so quick, I didn't know how it happened or what was happening, I was young, naive. " he said and paused, tears dropping from his eyes

"I watched as the cherubs we're burnt to ash, unseen attackers, the pure creast became soiled with blood, pain and everyone's agony, I could feel them, with his last breath, Father opened the portal to earth so I could escape, that was all I knew, then I woke up Herr in Pearl my Empyrean steel beside me" Kareem said and sniffed.

"More reason you don't know the full extent of your powers, you're the last breed of your generation, a child begotten of human and a god" Julius replied.

"How's it? " Layla asked with a bright smile.

Chapter 30

The aura flowing around Lord Supreme suddenly changed to something evil yet soothing. Taking each steps forward the ground beneath him would crack as he walked forward, his cape flowing majestically behind him. He made his fist as he walked forward closer to the Beta demon that dropped from the sky.

The demon taking the form of a normal female human giggled as she watched Lord Supreme.

"Fanada, dontngo beyond first energy stage" Lord Supreme said as he walked on.

"I thought I might catch some excitement" the voice within him said and slowly the second of three ring tattoos around his wrist returned back to being visible.

Kareem puffed, doubling his speed.

Lord Supreme slowly began to pick up pace, steadily increasing his speed, with swiftness he ran forward, his right fist packed with power, getting closer to the beta demon he launched a punch towards her face.

The punch graced the face of the beta demon, the force it brought along sending her into the air. An unseen force suddenly crashed the demon from the back while still in the air, sending it back at Lord Supreme.

Seeing this, Lord Supreme moved his right leg backward, squatting ninety degree with his left, his punch packed with energy, as the beta demon got closer, he dashed at her, screaming aloud and smashed her in the stomach, his fist bursting out at the back through the stomach where his fist had crashed upon.

The demon let out a soft gasp, as the relayed force from the punch pulled it out from the Lord Supreme's hand sending it rolling hard on the ground distance away.

Kareem suddenly landed from above right before Lord Supreme.

"Nice catch" Kareem said and sniffed.

"You're alive " Lord Supreme said and suddenly pulled Kareem forward and hugged him tightly.

"You're going to make me cry" Kareem said lowly "I'm a hard man you know"

"Shhhssshhhh" Lord Supreme replied.

"There are still demon and I don't think that big one is dead yet" Kareem replied.

The beta demon let out a loud growl of annoyance and cracked her knuckles, stretched out her hands and instantly they transformed into sharp blades.

"I can't sit this one out" Dan shouted as he ran up to them and hugged Kareem tightly "I love the hair"

"He finally begins transformation into his real form" Lord Supreme replied with a smile.

"What form? " Dan asked curiously

"A demi god" Lord Supreme replied and faced the growling demon.

"Wait what, I though demi gods... "

"Save the talk for later" Lord Supreme replied.

"Hey Fanada, I hope you still pack those energy" Kareem asked

"Tch" Fanada said within Lord Supreme.

"Kareem" West Demon said in annoyance and banged his fist on the stone table fuming in rage.

"He is attaining the demi god state, which means we have no chance of defeating him, our end is near" North demon said, fright in her tone.

"What do we do next? " South demon asked.

"There is always a way, how is the cloning of the alpha and beta demons going? " West demon asked with heavy breathing.

"Progressing, but we are concerned about Kareem what about Lord Supreme who has a contract with the third strongest of heaven spirit Fanada ? " South Demon asked concerned.

"Tch, it becomes more pain, Fanada is an outcast from heaven, casted out because of his cowardness and too much compassion he has for others, we can play on that, when the time comes" West demon replied and giggled.

Kareem's feet dragged against the ground, due to the force the Zero beta demon had used in collidig with him, he gritted his teeth and stretched his left hand sideways, as the demon hurled at him.

"What are you doing? " Lord Supreme asked as he appeared before Kareem.

"Shhssh lemme concentrate "

Lord Supreme dashed at the demon, sent a punch towards the face, with swift reflex, the demon dodged it, moved its body below the punch, grabbed Lord Supreme by the waist and threw him off, and continued dashing at Kareem.

Dan ran after the demon, catching up with her from the left and rammed his body against her, noticing this move, the demon reduced its speed, allowing Dan miscalculated, she grabbed Dan's body and threw him off, and continued dashing at Kareem.

"Maze the sword " Michell called out as they ran through the woods "Seems its needed" she said as the sword struggled to move out from its sheath.

Maze pulled it out and threw it into the air, instantly with almost at full mach it projected off.

The beta demon got closer to Kareem, grinning widely, as its spread out it blades, it launched itself into the air and dived at Kareem.

"Txh"

The sword suddenly sliced through the demon while in the air and rotated around and came to Kareem's grip from the back.

Kareem smiled and slashed the demon as it still came at him, completely splitting her into four unequal parts.

THUD!! The body fell to the ground lifeless.

Kareem slashed his sword in the air, walked towards the demon and pulled out her head, looked at the Crying Eye in the sky and threw the demon's head into it.

The head landed on the stone table in between the demons.

Burning with rage the demons starred at Kareem as the portal slwolh began to close and the sky began to go clear. The temaming demons began to burn up in dust ad the sun shined on them.

Chapter 29

Lord Supreme watched as demon hunters trooper out, each moving out to their designated areas. The Crying Eyes in the sky already fully matured. The sky slowly began to go dark, thick cldark clouds slwolh taking over the broad day.

Lord Supreme pulled the right sleeve of his cloth up and starred at the three dark circles around his wrist and touched it.

"I hope the need for that don't arise" Dan said from behind and walked next to him.

"I hope so too, I can feel his rage burning" Lord Supreme said.

Kareem alighted his horse and from the distance they we're, the dark clouds that covered Pearl Village could be seen.

"We are about two days away from Pearl, what is that? " Amen asked.

"No one knows, we have to hurry" Kareem replied and climbed on his horse.

"If we move fast enough, we should get there in a day time" Kareem said and geared his horse.

"We sent words to the outlander demon hunters, no one responded, not even Julius or Dave" Dan said and continued "If what Joy said is true then we are possibly done for"

"Its what could be done, from the Intel I got yesterday East Demon is dead, killed by someone called Kareem " Joy said as she got closer.

Lord Supreme stood still in shock, same as Dan, both finding it hard to believe what Joy just said.

"East demon had been going around killing top ranked demon hunters to prevent them from joining forces, and his streak ended when he came across this same Kareem" Joy said.

"Thanks, give us space " Lord Supreme ordered Joy.

She nodded her head and took her leave.

"Kareem is alive" Lord Supreme said with a wide grin on his face. "Means I might not get to let Acne Demon out after all"

"If she knew about him then there is a million chance he is on his way here, probably with the kids" Dan replied feeling rejuvenated "Let's do this"

Thunder calls took over the sky, striking furiously, loud rumbling sound followed next, in minutes the entire village had gone dark.

"Its here" Dan said and heaved.

The Crying Eye Portal slowly came open, revealing the faces of the higher demons in each of the portals in the sky. From the portal, demons began to drop down in large numbers, and of different powers and strength.

Dan pushed a hunter out of the path of an attacking demon and received the incoming blow to his chest, quickly gathering himself together, Dan locked his palms together and grinned. He suddenly appeared behind the demon and drove his right hand through the chest from the back.

"Thank you" the hunter Dan save said and nodded.

"Don't loose guard" Dan said and watched as the hunter responded and dashed off.

Lord Supreme blinked himself from one point to another appearing before demons and in split seconds disappearing, within the little fraction, each demons he appeared to instantly turned to dust.

An arrow flew pass Dan strucking a demon distance away, the arrow pulled out and returned through the path it had come from.

Dan turned around trailing the arrow and saw it pierce into more demons that we're within the perimeter before it finally dispersed.

"Protect the children" a hunter shouted to the others on his flanks as demons in large numbers ran towards the furiously.

From the top of the building where the children we're kept, Joy leaped down, standing in between the hunters and the attacking demon. She pulled out her sword and a metallic ball appeared on her left hand.

"Stone technique, wandering death! " she sshouted as she threw the stone in the air, with enough force, she pulled her upper body backward to the right and smashed the stone with the plain part of her sword.

The contact between both objects, let out a heavy sonic wave that threw most demons off balance, the stone hurled forward furiously, and suddenly ebagm to split into parts, each part moving towards the attacking demons.

Strucking them on their fore heads, the stones pierced so easily through the demons skull, instantly shattering them into dust.

"Twenty more hours to go, can yoi guys endure" Joy shouted, asking the hunters behind her.

"Yes" the hunters chorused.

"Good" Joy replied and dashed off.

Dan leaped over Lord Supreme and smacked a demon on the head forcefully bringing it down and screamed as he smashed his leg against the demons head.

"Most of the hunters are wearing out, I think its time we begin to make use of the cure" Dan said

"Not now, we will hold off the wave, if we use a cure at this early stage, they would also resort to the one they engineered, and we will be on the losing side" Lord Supreme said.

"Ju...st" he mumbled as he kicked off a demon "be p..a..tie...nt" he strained as he kicked off another demon.

"We still have well about 19 hours to continue fighting, how long can the junior hunters hold? " Dan said grappling a demon by the neck and severed its head off the body.

"We go by the plan, the junior hunters are reinforcement, keeping the bunker safe" Lord Supreme said and leaped into the sky.

Kareem's horse stumbled, due to exhaustation and fell hard to the ground, he quickly leaped off and came to a running landing, without much hesitation, he resorted to his feet, running even faster than the horse could go, leaping from tree branches to another.

"We will never keep up" Maze said and grabbed a branch from the horse and swung himself forward, also dashing from tree to tree.

"Michell, Jem, don't fall behind " Amen shouted as he also leaped off his horse.

"Pearl Village has a lot of resistance, unlike the other villages ruined in few hours, they've managed to keep up, 17 more hours to go" West Demon said, watching from his cave hall.

"Like we expected, this isn't the time to use our secret weapon and I'm sire they are also keeping something" North demon said and giggled.

"Let's have them see a blink of our power" South demon replied.

"Release Beta Zero" she said.

More demon dropped down from the portal, houses going up in flames due to the strike from the thunder storm.

A chilled breeze suddenly took over the entire village and immediately all demon stopped attacking all maintaining their stand.

"Something much more demonic is coming " Dan said to Lord Supreme

"I guess its time" Lord Supreme replied and pulled up his sleeves and slowly the black round tattoo around his wrist disappeared.

Kareem smirked as he got closer to the village entrance, running half a mach. His feet raising cracked stone into the air as he took each steps.

"Fanada, I hope you're not asleep, or grown to weak from years of not fighting" Lord Supreme said as he gritted his teeth.

"I hope you can keep up with my pace, seems you've gotten too fat" a mocking voice echoed within him.

Chapter 28

Maze smirked as he walked forward, Michell tagging beside him, East Demon gritted in annoyance and shook his head lightly and cracked his knuckles.

"So how is it going to be? " Maze asked Michell as his sword came to his grip.

"I'm a witch remember, I haven't told you this but I can clone people powers once I've seen them" Michell said and fromnher right hand a look alike of Maze sword appeared.

"Wait, what's it with you guys and new weird powers!!!? " Maze screamed at the top of his voice.

"Tch, ten seconds, let's get this done with" she said and dashed forward.

Maze slashed his sword forward, sending water darts at East demon who easily dodged them, since it couldn't matxh with his super speed.

"My pride has never been this hurt" he said.

Michell leaped into the air at him, suddenly East demon appeared behind her in the air and smacked her on the back with his left leg.

Michell fell hard to the ground, bouncing repeatedly uncontrollably.

"He is getting serious" Kareem said and smiled.

"Enough of your child games, I didn't come here for this" East demon roared and began to shapeshift into his real demonic form.

He rapidly grew in size, standing with the length of an averagely grown tree, his fingers increased in size become just three on each hands. His face grew out fins for chins and his eyes merged and became one at the middle. The muscles on his legs popped out, taking the form of a cheetah.

"What is this beast? " Amen muttered from where he stood.

"That's the true form, he is getting serious" Kareem replied and scoffed.

"Tch" Maze grinned and took a step backward.

"Maze, he is nothing compared to you, just go with the flow of your sword, let it guide you" Kareem shouted

"And you witch, you have the ability to forsee into the future, tap into the warps of time, read his movement and counter" Kareem shouted the words to Michell.

Maze dashed forward, his entire height only reaching to the knee cap of the demon. The large feet came at him, clearing the grasses it came in contact with and making holes in the path it moved through.

Maze grunted as he dived off the path of the attack, slashed the leg and watched as it quickly healed itself.

"You can't be serious" Maze muttered as he ran to the left.

"He just healed back so quickly" Amen muttered.

Maze narrowly dodged the huge feet attack that came at him, diving under the feet, he struck his word beneath it and went with the flow, as he slide under, with his sword tearing the feet.

East demon groaned in pain and stomped both feet's hard on the ground, shaking the earth.

Maze lost balance, the vibration from the ground sending him into mid air. Swiftly East demon sent his full left palm at Maze.

With swift reflex Maze made water shot out from his leg, giving him more speed to jet out off the attacking iron fingers.

"Water Syncth, third form water void" Maze muttered.

A back hole suddenly appeared before the hand of East demon, immediately its hand went it, the back hole closed, chopping out the entire fist.

"Pest!! " East demon screamed as another hand immediately began to regenerate.

Michell from where she stood, locked her palms together

"Witch hunt, immobilize"

The regeneration of East demon hand suddenly stopped, Maze floating in mid air, propelled himself with his water Syncth towards the East demon and slashed off its head.

"Time up" Kareem shouted and scoffed.

"Eternal replica, release technique " he said and suddenly the environment changed

East Demon was already dead, his body almost dried off, with Kareem standing before it, his sword on his left hand.

"What just happened? " Amen asked calmly

"I created another time warp, I killed him immediately he talked about killing Jem, what you just fought with was made from my imagination to see how strong you've grown" Kareem said and slashed his sword in the air.

"So we had only being imagining? " Michell asked.

"No, its an alternate reality, get prepared we leave for Pearl in a week time" Kareem said and walked off.

"Wow, I'd like to see a fight between Lord Supreme and Maze dad" Michell said in excitement.

"The truth is, I don't come close to Emmy, not one percent " Kareem replied.

"What could that old man possibly do? He only sits in his rat office all day" Amen said and scoffed.

"Your father is a ticking bomb, misuse of his powers could ruin the world" Kareem replied and walked off.

"East Demon is dead, defeated in one single blow" Lord of West said and sighed "I warned him, even when Kareem sleeps his powers are never to be underestimated " he said and sat down.

"Launch the crying eyes" South demon said and chuckled.

Chapter 27

South Demon walked into the meeting cave hall and went straight for her seat, a straight face and burning within with rage.

"Your energy is going oft chart " Lord of East said as he watched her sat down.

"There are speculations that Kareem might be alive " She said and heaved.

The silence that fell on them all told how frightened they we're if eventually it became true.

"And how is this true? " Lord of West asked.

"Weeks ago, I sent fourbofbky strongest after Kareem's children and they all died, you all know about this, I dug deeper and it was Kareem, although I was not sure at first, i just confirmed three days ago, I saw him and his male child together" She said.

"If Kareem is truely alive, then our plan fails " North Demon replied.

"Not necessarily, like I've killed the others, I'll go after him and kill him hopefully he has gotten weak by the years " East Demon said.

"Calm down, you're going against a living weapon with no weakness, the only time we got him was because his family was in between" West Demon said and locked his palms together and rested the on the table.

"Then we make history repeat itself, but something I'm concerned about his the conscious demon daughter of his" East Demon said and stood up.

"I'll be back" he said and walked out.

"Prepare the inauguration of the East Demon vice captain, I'm sure he is not coming back" West Demon said and scoffed.

Michell stood by Kareem who sat by the river side, with his hookline dipped inside the river, a metal bowl to his right.

"I'll assume you find the company of the boys boring and Jemima can't flow well with you" Kareem said and smiled.

"Sort of and I don't want the training exposing my full potential to them" she said.

A moment of silence came on them both, while Kareem paid attention to the hook as the dabbled around in the water.

"Come to think of it, you never talked about your family" Kareem said and looked at her.

"Hmm"

"Its okay if you don't want to talk about it, although I don't know which lineage uses your Eye binding technique, its unique and dangerous" Kareem said and smiled

"Its something I can talk about, I don't just know if they are worth talking about" Michell replied.

Kareem nodded and swiftly cast out the hook from the water, having a catch on it.

"I'm from Victor Family" she said while Kareem removed the hook frombthebfish and threw it into the bucket before throwing back the fish line.

"Really, the family with no magic" Kareem said and smiled at her "But you how come? "

"On the night my father stabbed my mom cause she hid his wine gourd, right before my eye, seems that tragedy triggered my dormant powers" Michell replied and sat next to Kareem.

"Someone I killed him, reversed his blood flows and it felt good" she said and sniffed

Amen sighed from where he hid himself, and sighed

"So many secrets she has in" he muttered to himself and slowly backed off.

A loud bang came from the log house, sending thick fumes into the air, hearing this, both Kareem and Michell turned their backward and saw the fumes rise up into the sky and immediately dashed off.

Kareem got to the scene and saw Maze and Jemima standing behind Amen clones and got closer.

"What happened? " Michell asked as she deemed her eyes to get a clearer view at the figure standing amidst the fumes.

"Some lanky dude with off chart powers suddenly showed up and went into an attack frenzy" Maze replied.

Kareem took the front lead and clapped his hands together, immediately dispersing the fumes.

"So you're alive " East Demon said and chuckled.

"East demon " Kareem said and went into laughter which startled everyone. "You've been missing on good diet, you look much more skinny" Kareem said and died down his laughter.

"I see you still have that crazy humor in you, I'm sorry it won't be lasting long" East Demon said and continued "You see, I can't risk anyone getting in my way of our grand plan, Julius is dead, I killed him, Vivian is dead, I killed her, then Ash, Bernard all strong hunters who could stand in our way " he said and chuckled.

"You killed Julius and you think you'll leave here in one piece " Maze shouted.

"Calm, if he killed Julius then he has god like speed that's Julius only weakness" Kareem said and looked at the kids.

"We will use him for your final training, Amen and Jem you're up, you both have the required speed to keep up with him, Jem bash him hard, Amen you know what to do" Kareem said and walked back while Jemima and Amen walked forward.

"Sending kids to do a mans job" East demon said "the little one is your daughter, I should have fun killing her"

"If you die, I'll kill you" Maze said to Amen who smiled with the corner of his lips as he leaped forward with the tip of his toes.

Amen suddenly disappeared before East demon could grabbed his neck appeared behind him and smashed his head with his feet, making East Demon stagger forward.

"Punch Barrage" Jemima shouted as she appeared before East Demon who wasn't expecting it, her small frame easily going beneath him.

She tightened her right fist and smashed East demon on the stomach, the force sent him off, quickly he got his stance and scoffed.

"Cursed children, pest, their attack are very coordinated and unpredictable, brute force with a swift attacker, these are the real trouble" East demon muttered as he stretched his body.

Jemima dashed forward, moving in zigzag movement while Amen followed by the right, getting closer. Amen flapped his hands and suddenly he switched positions with Jemima, getting closer he clapped his hands again, and switched position.

East demon got even more frustrated as Amen switched position, giving him no means to attack. Before Amen could clap hands, East demon with his swift speed dashed at Amen.

East demon suddenly crashed against a tree, shattering it into pieces while he fell hard to the ground.

"He fell for such trick, the truth is clapping my hands don't switch position, I do it willingly and it drains me, not only can I switch people I can substitute anything " Amen said and increased his speed, got closer to Jemima and held her shoulder and they both disappeared and appeared before East demon.

"Punch barrage" Jemima shouted and smacked East demon on the face, splitting his jaws.

"Enough, team two!! Take over" Kareem shouted and scoffed. "This is the big deal, a witch teaming with a demi god, I hope you use your full potential East demon" Kareem thought within himself and chuckled.

Chapter 26

Kareem grabbed Amen by the collar of his shirt from behind and threw him off so easily, with swift reflex Michell dive ater Amen and grabbed him by the arm with her left hand while suspending herself with the right hand holding firm to a tree branch.

Maze pulled his sword behind him as he ran towards Kareem, he leaped into the air and suddenly transformed into a huge rock.

"Your replacement method is weak" Kareem said out loud and watched ad the rick hurled at him from above. "Weak" he said and dashed at the rock, with one swift punch he shattered it into piece and grabbed Maze by the neck from within the rock and slammed him to the ground.

"How strong is he? I can't sense any power or energy from him" Amen muttered as he watched Kareem dealt with Maze.

Jemima followed suit, sending swift punch barrage at Kareem.

"No katter the cure, you still have one percent demon blood in you, let out those rage and mske up for the 99 others "Kareem shouted at Jemima as he effortlessly dodged her blows.

"Im afraid I might hurt you" Jemima said with her tiny voice and her eyes wide open.

"Don't worry i dont die easily" he said and beckoned on her to attack.

Jemima sudddenly appeared before Kareem and sent a blow at his stomach, narrowly dodging the attack, Kareem dived off, lost balance and rolled on tje ground, looking up, Jemima already initiated anotjer attack.

Seeming like a very different person, allowing no breathing space for Kareem, she suddenly phased into two, both of Jemima taking turns within split seconds to attack Kareem.

"Jemima just cloned" Amen said and chuckled

"That's not a clone, her punch barrage are just too fast to be contained by one entity, within those split seconds she phased, meaning one is just a living shadow, it only compose of solid matters because of the speed involved, if her speeds drops down the other Jem fades off" Michell replied "That's trouble"

Kareem gritted his teeth as he managed to keep up with the swift punches that came at him.

The cloned Jemima phased through Kareem, appearing at his back and smacked him on the knee joint from behind, making him kneel forcefully, and next came a hard punch on Kareem's face, which sent him distance away.

"Huhhn, Maze, I think I might killed father " Jemima said with a teary eye.

"Ehehe even at this rate you might kill me" Maze muttered and faked a smile.

"Its time to get serious" Kareem said on all fours and stretched out his hand.

The sword left Maze's grip and moved quickly towards Kareem who grabbed it firmly and stood up

"Divine seek" Kareem said and threw the sword at Jemima.

Joy walked into Lord Supreme's office and lowered her head slightly, Dan standing next to Lord Supreme, a mean look on his face, never would he forgive her for the pain he caused her.

"You loved her" Joy said

"I still don't get why you still decide to take her look still, you should have just reverted to your ill self before being cured, I hate seeing you like this" Dan said

"Let's focus on why we are here " Lord Supreme said and starred deep at Joy.

"We need intels"

Maze sighed as he sat on the bare ground relaxing his back on the tree behind him and watched as his father approached him, he adjusted himself allowing space for his father to sit next to him.

"You all made a good team, I only had the upper hand because of experience, and Jemima, she is one hell of a fighter, seems the demon form had some positive impact on her" he said and sighed as he laid his back on the tree.

"Seems so" Maze replied smiling brightly.

"Your mother care to tell me about her to make up for the years I lost" Kareem said calmly.

"There can't be enough to make up for" Maze said and locked his palms together resting on his knee joint "She was the best everything one wanted in a mother" he said and sighed.

"Thought as much, you know I met her during the Pearl competition for new hunters, although she had no magic or special abilities, yet she overcame so many obstacles" Kareem said and stood up "Get some rest, we begin again at noon"

East Demon chuckled as he ran from tree top to another, seconds after leaping to another tree branch, an unforseen force would crash the branches shattering into thousand pieces.

Reaching an open space, void of woods and trees, East demon halted his run and smiled then slowly turned around to face who it was that chased after him.

"I really underestimated you cause you're a woman" East Demon said and placed his left hands on his chin.

"Then I should do you the favor of changing your orientation" a feminine voice said from the winds.

"Unfortunately I don't have time to spare, I have to get you all strong demon hunters out of the picture or else you become a sore to my plans and I can't afford to lose" East Demon said.

His left chin suddenly split open, fortunately for him he noticed the unseen attack and moved his face slightly to the left.

"You're been troublesome" he said and stretched his right hand forward.

"There is a flaw to your power energy" East Demon said and caught the star shaped blade that came at his face with his left hand that was placed previously beneath his chin.

"When you attack, you unconsciously let down your guard, temporarily becoming visible and back in less than a second" he said and smiled.

"That means you're there" he said and swiftly turned around, grabbed the lady by the neck and snapped it and instantly she became visible.

"Few more to go" he said and grinned widely.

Chapter 25

Lord Supreme stood at the peak of the highest building in the viallge, staring at the starless night, the demon portal by the passing days had began to mature, from the very faint purple circles it had which could be barely seen, it had grown large and even clearly it could be seen by every one. And even those from other viallges could also be seen clearly from the distance. It was everyman to himself, even worse they didn't know what to expect aside demons dropping down from the portals. At least they was three of such portal in Pearl Village alone.

"You're still here" Dan said from behind and walked closer.

"Any progress on Joy? " Lord Supreme asked and heaved.

"The portion works slower on demons who have devoured more humans, so its taking a slow progress on her, but its working" Dan replied.

"Its progress" Lord Supreme said.

"Any news on Amen ? "

"I'm sorry but he and the others are just on their own, its up to them to decide their fate and survival"

The white haired man suddenly let out a loud shout from his dream, sweating profusely. He sat upright and sighed. Reminiscing on his dream, he stood up, grabbed his shirt next to him and wore it before walking out.

He walked into the room where Amen and Maze we're, deeply asleep, he walked closer and grabbed the sword next to Maze and stared deep at it.

"It can't be" he mumbled and raised the sword up.

The man stood out in the open with the sword and slowly placed his left hands on the grip of the sword above his right and slowly slashed it through the air and breathed in.

"It comes clear " he said and smiled.

Michell from where she sat at the rooftop, watched as the man skillfully handled the sword, swaying it around.

"Water Scynth Divine Seeker" the man said calmly.

The sword swiftly left his grip and moved round slashing the trees it came in contact with and returned back to the man.

He grabbed it firmly and opened his eyes wide open in awe.

"Finally its all coming back" he said and breathed out softly

"I saw nothing" Michell said and looked at the moon.

Maze woke up to a soft tap on his hand and slowly opened his eyes, mumbled as he turned his body around.

"Wake up, there is something you need to see" Amen said and pulled Maze up.

"Brother" the soft soothing voice called out to him as he stepped out of the room into the living room.

Maze immediately halted, unsure about what he heard, he looked around and saw Jemima standing meters away from him with a bright smile on her face.

Involuntary tears dripped down his eyes, his knees went numb, staring in disbelief, he dropped down to the ground sobbing uncontrollably. He managed to get himself up, ran forward with his might and grabbed Jemima, raised her into the air and hugged her tightly still sobbing.

"Its touchy" Amen said standing next to Michell.

"There is one more" Michell said and looked at the white hair man.

"Maze" the man said calmly and stretched out the sword.

"That belongs to me" Maze said, still holding Jemima.

"I'm sorry but its mine" the man replied "Follow me" he said and led the way out

"Pull off your shirt" he commanded.

Reluctantly Maze pulled off his shirt and carefully the man placed his left hand on Maze chest and removed his hand, revealing a water drop logo Maze chest.

"What's this? " Maze asked surprised as the others.

The man removed his shirt also revealing the same water drop on his chest but larger.

Amen stuttered and walked closer, pointing at the man.

"Kareem?" He asked staring in disbelief. "Wait, somethings don't still add up" Amen said trying to put the link together.

"According to what I heard, Binta was pregnant when she died or didn't die, then who is she? " he asked pointing to Jemima.

"Wait, I thought water form had only seven forms and you just summoned a twenty form" Maze said.

Michell and Amen sat at the rooftop of the wood building watching as the family got along together.

"The water symbol also showed up on Jemima but Kareem was supposedly dead when she was born, she is his child but how did she came to be? " Amen asked curiously.

"The only theory I have is he hasn't fully recovered his memory, there are still lapses" Michell replied.

"Anyway we have to reach our limit, surpass it and return to Pearl Village " Michell said and stretched "Even Jem is training" she said and giggled.

Chapter 24

Julius fell hard to the ground and chuckled as he pulled himself up, he felt dizzy for a brief moment as the footstep of his opponent approached him.

He wiped off the blood oozing from his nose and stretched out his sword.

"You finally resort to cheap method taking us out one after the other, and how long will that continue? " Julius asked.

The lanky man smiled sheepishly as he approached Julius cautiously and at the same time majestically. He folded his arms together and halted.

"You see, you all are only strong together and it will be such dishonor to send a boy to do a man's job" the man said and chuckled.

"I assume you're the East Demon, you look lanky for such reputation you hold" Julius said and heaved.

"I can't defeat him, I can't keep up with this amount of energy, he even willingly suppresses the energy in him" Julius thought within himself and grit his teeth.

"You're assumption is right, Julius, you're also tiny for someone with such powers, only a little amount I use in surpassing you" East Demon said and smiled.

"Says someone who willingly suppresses his power house" Julius replied

"So you figured that out, seems I've underestimated you as well"

Julius took his time to study the demon and gather every little details he needed.

"Let's play a game" the demon said and sat down on the bare ground and signaled to Julius to seat also.

"I'll play along" Julius muttered and sat down.

"Here is it, Tic tac toe" the demon said and grabbed a stick and drew out the game in between him and Julius.

"You win and I promise to spare you, you lose and I'll kill you right on this spot" East Demon said and closed his eye lids half way.

East Demon used the stick with him to draw a X on the last row to the left and waited for Julius to take his turn.

Julius stared at the demon as he drew an O at the top row in the middle. East Demon took his turn and drew at top left while Julius intercepted at the left middle row.

"Its becoming boring" Julius said and stood up and wiped off the game with his feet.

"Impatient human, its just the nineth game, I'll just have to kill you" East Demon said as he stood up.

He dashed at Julius and struck him on the rib cage before Julius could even set himself properly. He threw his hand forward, and sent Julius off.

Julius rolled off and finally got his stance staggering.

"Impressive, you survived that, huhnn I see, you couldn't dodge the attack instead you moved along with the hit, taking no damage, you're fascinating " East Demon said and smiled and suddenly dashed at Julius again.

Julius swayed his sword around, blocking off the many punches that came at him, each punch he intercepted pulled him about two inches backward. East Demon grabbed Julius by the head and smacked his face with his left knee.

Julius took the hit and as he flew off, he managed to land a kick on the jaws of the demon.

"Perfect" East Demon shouted and locked his palms together.

"Metal wolf" he said calmly and before him appeared a huge black wolf made of metal.

Julius moved his left leg backward and squatted on the right leg, moved his hands forward, his palms wide open.

The metal wolf howled and ran forward at Julius, moving with swiftness and precise flexibility. It leaped into the air as it got closer, its mouth wide open.

"Manipulation last form" Julius said calmly and from his palm a green light came forth, illuminating the entire area.

It slowly dispersed revealing the metal wolf standing next to Julius.

"Huhnn... You use a forbidden power house and I thought demons were the tricky ones" East Demon said.

Julius dashed forward, aura of power flowing all over him while the wolf followed behind.

"My turn" Julius mumbled and suddenly appeared before East Demon and drove his sword into its stomach, holding firm to it, he leaped up towards the demon's head level and headbutt it, sending it off furiously while the wolf leaped after East Demon, grabbed it between its jaws and bite it hard.

Julius followed suit, letting out a loud scream he punched the demon hard on the forehead. The force of the blow sent the demon distance away crashing into tree after tree.

East Demon collided against a rock which stopped the momentum but completely shattering into pieces.

"You hurt my pride " East Demon said and stood up.

"Its releasing its full powers, guess this is the end " Julius said and gritted.

"DIEEEEEE!!! " East Demon shouted and with speed of light it ran into Julius, completely dissecting every single part of Julius into pieces.

"You hurt my pride so much" East Demon said and stuck out it long tongue and licked off the blood around his face and slurped them in.

Chaptet 23


Maze gulped down his entire bowl filled with steaming soup and wiped off his mouth, he reached for another and blew at it.

They all sat in a circular path, round the low table in the large living room, bright oil lamps hanging loosely from the wooden wall.

"Thanks for the food" Michell said to the man who was seated at the a little away from them.

"Thank you" both Maze and Amen chorused.

"Its little I can do, now lets hear why you have such strong demons chasing after you, its unusual to find strong demons like that lurking aimlessly around" the man said and stirred his soup.

"It makes sense now" the man replied and stood up, looked back at the sword next to Maze and pointed at it.

"Can I have a feel of that? " he asked calmly.

Maze looked at the others and picked the sword, stood up and handed it over.

The man held it and let out a soft sigh, swayed it skillfully around and smiled before returning the sword back to Maze.

"Its a good and swift one, more practice and it becomes one with you" he said and went out.

Michell noticed the edge of the sword let out a quick blue spark and next was water dripping down from the tip to the ground.

"I'll go have fresh air outside and clear my head make sure you give the portion to Jemima" she said and walked out.

Maze reached for the potion and retrieved it, looked at Amen and gave a slight nod.

Michell walked out into the dark and sniffed into the air. She heaved and looked towards the left and saw the man picking up dried sticks and moved closer to him.

"You never told us your name" she said as she bent down to also pick dry sticks.

"Its of no essence and clearly I don't even know what my name is" the man replied without turning to look at her.

"The sword, looks like you have something in common with it".

The man paused and turned around to look at her and chuckled.

"I own that sword" he replied and smiled "At least that's what I think, I just don't understand anything" he said and moved deeper into the woods.

"Your fight form is water"

"Yes"

"Same with Maze, he uses the water Syncth " Michell replied.

"So?" The man asked still not getting the link.

"Don't worry, I might be over thinking things" she said and sighed "I'll return this and come back, my hands are filled already " she said and turn around to leave.

Maze watched as Jemima gulped down the portion, expecting something weird to happen. Jemima turned her body around still deep asleep.

"It seems it has no effect " Maze said and stood up, looked at Amen with disappointment and walked out.

The veins around Jemima's neck popped out barely noticeable, turned green and slowly settled back in

15 Years Ago


Kareem dashed through the woods, as fast as his legs could carry him, distance before him was Pearl Village burning to ash, the heat from the village could he felt on his skin even from the distance he was, even though he moved so swift it seems lime it would take forever to get there.

Fireballs shot into the air, hurling straight at Pearl Village. Getting to the cillviallge entrance, Kareem stood still, a moment of uncertainty, as people collided with each other, everyone running for safety.

"BINNTTTAAAAAA!!! " He screamed as he got closer to his burning home.

"Water Syncth Nineth form" he screamed and from above heavy down pour of water fell on the burning building and instantly the fire died down.

He kicked the already burnt door to the ground, ignoring the fumes, he went direct to the living room.

"Binta! " he called out again.

"We are here, we are safe" she replied.

He dashed towards where her voice had come from and effortlessly pulled the bunker they had kept themselves in apart, shredding the doors.

"You have to get out of Pearl, run towards the South, I'll catch up, Pearl is in ruins" he said as he escorted them out of the village.

As soon as she had ran off, Binta and her protruding stomach, Emmy and Dan ran up to him, they clothes burnt around the chest.

"You're here, we evacuated the people, bad news, but the Lord Supreme is dead, he attacked the higher demons last week without telling us, killed majority of their population, including South Mother, so this is a revenge" Emmy said panting heavily.

"We have to take them out" Kareem said.

"we can't, they base on both long range and shirt range attack, instantly anyone moving on ground is prone to faster death" Dan replied and gritted his teeth.

"Binta" Kareem muttered and ran off.

"Come on, I'm sure he knows what he is doing, we have to find a way to stop this fire, I'll gather other water users" Dan said and also dashed off into the village.

Kareem gritted his teeth as he ran as fast as he could, his sword trailing behind him.

"There " he said as he saw Binta in the distance catching up closer to her.

"Get your hands off wife " he screamed as he leaped into the air and slashed the demon that dived at Binta from the left wing of the woods.

Kareem slashed the demon and instantly it went into ash, he slashed his sword in the air ad more demons began to advance out from the woods.

"Hold my hands" he said to Binta and held her firm.

"Water Syncth, divine route!! " he screamed loudly.

Beneath him and his wife, a portal came open in form of water, forcefully he pushed Binta down and slashed a demon that leaped at them.

While attempting to dive down into the portal, a strong force collided with him and threw him off, smashing him hard against a tree

A demon grabbed him by the neck and snarled at him as he slowly went unconscious, with the last strength in him, Kareem held tight to his sword and slashed the demon that grabbed him.

Supporting himself with his sword he summoned another portal and sank himself in, leaving his swore behind.

A demon walked closer and held the sword by the blade and instantly turned into dust.

"Fools, that sword is made of last empyrean ateel, do not touch it " one of the demon said from the top of a tree.

Dan picked up the sword and handed it over to Emmy who now stood in as an acting Lord Supreme. Emmy received it and drove it into its sheath.

"This is what remains of the Kareem family, its unbelievable someone with such powers died, his dream of becoming a Lord Supreme" Emmy said and squatted.

"The demons, they all retreated of sudden"

"They took it personal, a grieve to honor their fallen brethren, a mistake of one man, I wished he was alive to see the damage he caused us" Emmy said and placed his right palm on the bare ground.

"I want you to see to the village redevelopment" Emmy said and stood up "We all have to get stronger"

Kareem slowly opened his eyes and groaned as he stood up, feeling pains all over his body, a large cut on his face, running from his face down to the cheeks.

"Where am I? " he asked himself as all he could see was vast green pasture "How did I get here, I am blank, nothing is coming through" he said he staggered, moving forward.

Chapter 22

Amen and Michelle stood watching Maze as he flipped the bottle open and used his right hand to open Jemima's lips. He let out a soft sigh as he shook the content.

Rustling of dried leaves suddenly became audible, followed by swift footsteps that ran from one tree branch to another.

"Demons" Michell said as she sniffed the air and ran up to Maze.

Few meters away from them a human looking demon dropped down the the tree and flexed its muscles and grinned widely at them.

"Just one, but his power house is off chart" Amen said and walked closer to Maze.

Maze returned the bottle lid and placed the portion inside his cloth and stretched out his sword, kneeling before Jemima.

"We don't need you, just those two" the demon spoke and pointed to Maze.

Two other demons dropped down from the tree and smacked their fist together and walked closer to the first demon.

"We can't take them all" Michell mumbled.

"Their powers are off chart, just how many humans have they devoure? " Maze said lowly with gritted teeth.

"I count five hundred some figures slightly lower than the first " Amen replied.

"What do we do? " Michell asked curiously.

"Run, we run, I'll carry Jem" Amen said and carried Jem on his hands and looked at Maze "Give us an opening" he mumbled.

Amen stood up and took the front line, and pointed his sword forward.

"Just as predicted, you're foolish enough to take on three of us" the leading demon said and chuckled, ran its palm around his mouth and slowly began to transform into a huge figure. Its flesh reversed in and let out its skeleton as its main body, the back shoulder blades extended up taking the shape of a sword, and slowly with blood dripping from its body it reached out for the blades and drew them out.

"I can't help but follow the scent of innocent bloods, a source of pure strength, I should enjoy you both" he said and chuckled.

"Smoke screen, basic disguise" Maze said calmly and drove his sword into the ground.

A loud bang followed next, shaking the entire perimeter, and followed next by thick fumes which quickly spread all over.

"Do you think a childish trick like this will save you? " one of the demons asked annoying and grab Anne by the neck within the fumes.

Amen smiled and turned into dust.

"Its a clone, they're getting away, this is to buy themselves time" the leading demon shouted as he snapped the neck of another Amen clone.

Running so fast it seemed impossible for the ordinary eye to keep up with, dashing through the woods and leaping from one tree to another, running through fallen trees.

Michell took the defense position, using her curse powers to split the trees behind her into twos and shattering them, so as to buy them time from their pursuers.

Amen took the lead running swiftly with Jemima on his hands.

"How long can you keep up with this? " the leading demon shouted as he did a flip in mid air and used his left left to shatter the tree Michell splitted into more pieces.

"You only make this much more interesting" he shouted as he drove a fist into the next tree that came at him, excitement written all over its skeletal face.

Maze grabbed an branch with his hands and swinged himself backward, switching positions with Michell taking the defense.

"Water Syncth third form" Maze shouted and slashed his sword into the air, while he also was in mid air.

Sharp blades of water came out from his sword, furiously hurling towards the chasing demons.

"So fast" the leading demon mumbled and tilted his body towards the right, the attack narrowly missing him.

The demon following behind, before he could decide got struck by the attack on the right shoulder, throwing it off balance from the tree it was about leaping from.

"So precise the attack wasn't meant for me" the leading demon said and chuckled "I can feel that tingling sensation, its the fun"

Amen grunted as he leaped from trees to trees, his stamina was steadily getting loosed, and exhaustation setting in, he gritted his teeth as he tried to focus. Leaping to the next tree branch, he landed on it and suddenly the branch broke beneath his feet, sending him crashing hard to the ground at the same time curling his body over Jemima, as he rolled furiously on the ground.

Both Maze and Michell dropped to the ground and hurried towards Amen.

"Hey are you good? " Michell asked while helping him and Jemima up.

"You three give me joy" the leading demon said smiling.

The demon that got hit by Made attack landed behind the others and grinned wickedly.

Maze dashed at the demons and sent an attack, like silk before fire, Maze attack was gotten rid of.

"You attack only work if we can't see it coming" it said and walked forward and grabbed Maze by the neck.

"We really don't need you, its that cursed sword we need, but we need a bearer, demons can't touch it" the demon said and smacked Maze wrist, which sent the sword off his grip to the ground.

"Kill the others".

The other demons dashed at both Amen and Michell, closing in really fast. Suddenly both demons got splitted into two halves. Their bones immediately dried off even before they could touch ground.

"Huhhn" the demon holding Maze by the neck said in uncertainty.

The demon's hand which held Maze by the neck suddenly cake off.

"Huhhmnm, whats this? " he muttered in disbelief.

A man dressed in black overall flowing dress and complete grey hairs suddenly appeared behind the demon and grabbed it by the extruded shoulder blades and snapped it off, which sent the demon into agony.

"Arrghhhhh" the demon cried out.

The man swiftly drove the blades into the ribs of the demon and forcefully pulled its body apart and immediately it went into dust.

The man looked at the sword on the ground and made for it and swiftly Maze dived forward, grabbed the sword and rolled off towards the others and stood defense.

"That sword belongs to me" the man mumbled the words which we inaudible to the kids.

"You must be tired, you can test in my home" the man said and let out a bright smile, this time his face was seem clearly, a wide scar ruining from his left eye down to the right cheek.

"What is this feeling of familiarity I sense" the man thought within himself and looked at Maze and smiled.

"This way"

Chapter 21

Lord Supreme took a quick glance at Dan who walked into his office and made himself comfortable on the available seat. Going through the scrolls before him and sorting the finished ones aside.

"Is that Joy's mission report?" Dan asked pointing to the scroll with Lord Supreme.

"Yes"

Dan reached out and received the scroll and took a careful look at it and let out a smirk.

"Anything wrong?"

"She went into the village alone and got the job of ten people done all by herself" he said and threw the scroll on the table.

"Her head should be rolling on the floor, you think I believe you are using her to get to the Higher demons, we have all the lead we want,she should be dead" Dan said

Lord Supreme took the scroll and kept it aside, kept mute for some seconds and spoke.

"She deserves a second chance"

Dan scoffed and bang his palms on the table.

"Hear yourself,demons, a second chance, do you know hownmany people she killed already?"

"Then why did we go through the stress of finding a cure, even you did more job in making this cure a reality, demons were once human and they once had a conscience like you and I " Lord Supreme said and just at that moment Joy walked in.

"You called for me" Joy said.

Lord Supreme looked at Dan and cleared his throat and stood up.

"Do you want a second chance at becoming human?"

Amen took a squat before Maze and landed a slap on his right cheek, leaving Michell amazed at the sudden action.

He pulled Maze's head up and gave him another slap on the left cheek.

"Hey hey look at me" Amen shouted and slapped both cheeks at the same time.

"This is no time for regret or thinking hard, you can't be a good brother if you can't protect what matters to you most,look around, come on, you're strong but don't let your emotion get the better of you, I heard tales of how the blood and strength of past warriors who held that sword flows through the viens of its current wielder, seems you are not worthy after all " Amen said and moved his hand towards his back and retrieved a bottle of the cure and placed it before Maze.

"Use that if you can protect her" he said and stood up and walked towards Michell.

"Its worth it, I can't be so stupid to throw away something he sold his mentality for" Amen said and scratch his head.

"Thank you" Maze mumbled and tears began to roll down his face.

He stood up weakly grabbing bottle and walked towards them and stood inches away.

"How dare you threat me in such silly way!!!" Maze shouted and went into an uproar of laughter with the others.

"Come on, we need to use or on her" Michell said and looked at Jemima who was fast asleep.

"Wait" Amen said and looked at Maze.

"You've failed as a man if any harm should come to her after she becomes human" Amen said and placed his right hand on Maze's chest and sighed.

Joy gasped and let her sword go off her grip and took few steps backward, starring at Lord Supreme and next to Dan.

"We know what you are, left to me your head should be rolling" Dan said and continued "Blood sucker, I can sense your power house and can tell how many you've killed,a hundred and twenty" Dan said and spit out.

"You said demons were once human deserving a second chance, and its here coming to you, your living should be enough punishment, to make you feel regret of the souls you've killed and its also a chance to make things right" Lord Supreme said and walked forward.

"Its your choice to decide"

"I want" Joy said lowly, avoiding eye contact.

Demon of the East walked into the large cave hall, at the middle wad a huge round table made of stone and seat carved out from stone, occupied by all higher demons.

"I just got words, Kareem's children are out of Pearl Village, I will have our strongest demon retrieve them both" he said and smiled wickedly

Chapter 20

Maze fell hard to the ground, driving his sword into the ground to gain balance, he shook his head lightly and titled his head towards the right where Michell stood with his sister.

"Dan specifically told me to only give this to you when you prove you can protect Jemima if she becomes normal" Amen said and ran his left thumb over his lips.

"You really on her in her demon form, when she becomes human, and is weak, how will you protect her" Amen said and pointed towards Jemima.

"You're holding back and so am I, you really want to protect your sister then fight me like your life depends on it, brother to a slutty demon sister" Amen shouted.

Maze grunted and stood up, his head lowered, his mind-set shattered and broken. He looked at Amen and grittwd his teeth with an evil look on his face.

"That hold man really wants to send me to my early grave, I didn't sign for this, Maze is much stronger than me on a wide scale I can't cover up, if he is fighting with his full strength, he might snap my neck before I even make a move" Amen thought within himself as he watched Maze took an attack stance.

Maze dashed at Amen, his sword drawn behind him, within the blink of an eye, he already covered the distance between he and Amen, thrusting his palm forward at Amen's stomach.

Amen managed to grab Maze wrist and diverted the open palm towards the left. Making contact with the tree towards the path, Maze stuck his fingers into it and tore it easily apart as he pulled them out and swiftly made another attack at Amen.

The blow flew swiftly at Amen who also increased the speed of his movement, tilting his head left and right, dodging the attacking palms that came at his face.

Seeing an opening, he moved his entire body away from the palm attack, dashed forward at Maze and struck a blow at his jaw, sending him off balance.

"Your attacks are blinded by rage, it's an offensive weapon but you won't last long enough to see your sister enjoy the life you want her to, sometimes you have to pause and think with your brains" Amen said.

"Says someone who is reckless, I've heard enough of your lecturing, give me the compound or I rip it off your dead body" Maze said in annoyance.

"You are not worth it, if you cam defeat someone weaker than you, even of you're holding back, twenty seconds, if you don't bring me down, I'll dispose the compound " Amen said and dashed at Maze, making clones of himself as he prepared to attack.

Lord Supreme stood before the window in his office, watching the wide view it offered and turned around as the door opened.

"You called for me" Joy said as she walked in.

"Yes Joy, have a seat" Lord Supreme said smiling.

"It's a task I can only entrust to you, since I trust you more" Lord Supreme said and brought out a scroll.

"there is high level demon threat at Coal Village on the south and they are short of hunters, I would like you and your team to see to it" Lord Supreme said and passed the scroll to her.

"Fire manipulation are it's main attribute and since it's your field, please handle it" Lord Supreme said.

Joy stood up and bowed her head as she turned around to leave

"Do you think demons have a heart deciding good from bad? " Lord Supreme asked.

Joy paused, mute for a while before speaking.

"Demons were once humans of unfortunate circumstance, they have a heart buried deep within crying to be helped, but the human will is only a percent compared to the total of a demon" Joy replied, titled her head backward and smiled before taking her leave.

Maze slashed his sword at Amen who ran up the tree before him and did a backward flip, dodging the slash that effortlessly split the tree into two halves.

"Water Syncth heaven slash" Maze shouted panting heavily, beads of sweat all over his face.

From his sword, a large blade in form of water came forth, hurling at Amen.

"Ancestral Void" Amen mumbled and locked his palms together.

The water blade that hurled at Amen suddenly disappeared.

"One trick I thought I'll keep for later" Amen said and smile "It sends all attack into void, disrupting the law of space, creating a space in little time fragment"

"He keeps showing new trick, first a disappearing trick and now this, how strong is he anyway" Michell thought within herself.

"Time up" Amen said "Your anger exhaust you more than your attack" Amen said and dropped the healing portion to the ground.

Maze gasped as the bottle shattered into pieces, splashing the only cure to the ground.

"NO!! no nnnno..... Nnn" Maze stuttered and staggered forward, knelt before the broken piece and let out a loud cry.

"What is Amen thinking? " Michell mumbled and held tight to Jemima

Chapter 19

Maze grunted as he carried Jemima on his back, descending down the cliff, he managed to wipe off the bead of sweat on his face. Already exhausted, he found a cool spot beneath a tree and gently laid Jemima, resting her back on the tree.

"You guys should really return home" Maze said and turned around to face Michell and Amen who also were exhausted.

Amen chuckled and dipped his hand inside his pocket and brought out a bottle filed with pink liquid and raised it up.

"Dan gave me this, to give you, what you've always wanted" Amen said and returned the bottle back into his pocket.

Maze gulped down saliva and looked at Jemima and back at Amen, he took a step forward closer to Amen and stared deeply at him.

"Is that really a cure? " Maze asked curiously, a mixed feeling of joy and and reluctance.

"It's not really a cure, it only suppress the demon gene by 95 percent" Amen replied and looked up at sky.

"Give it to me" Maze said authoritatively and stretched out his hand.

"I don't think so"

Joy walked into Lord Supreme's office, and lowered her head slightly before speaking, she raised her head and stared at Dan and smiled sheepishly at him, Dan scoffed and took a quick glance at Lord Supreme.

"The demon is ready for questioning" She said and turned to take her leave.

"Wait, I want you to be present at the questioning" Lord Supreme said and stood up "That attack wasn't just any kind of attack, I know that demon is a scout and has an alliance among us. In other words, that was to see how strong our defense was" Lord Supreme said and stood up from his seat, folded the scrolls before him neatly and smiled at Dan.

"Could you help me make the announcement about the tournament? It has been postponed till every threat has been dealt with" Lord Supreme said and walked closer to Joy, placed his hands on her shoulder and walked pass her.

The demon was suspended in mid air, chained from above by the hands and let to dwindle about in mid air. On both sides of the demon were people dressed in an overall black cloth.

Lord Supreme and Joy walked into room and the door went shut for itself.

"You can begin" Lord Supreme.

The men dressed in black all moved closer to the demon and stretched their hands forward, seconds later,their hand slowly began to glow and gradually it began to brighten up.

"He is ready for interrogation" one of the men dressed in black said.

Lord Supreme took closer steps and smiled at Joy before beginning his words.

"When is the attack on Pearl happening?"

The demon grunted trying to fight the urge to answer the questions out of his own will, after much pains it could not endure and spoke.

"I don't know but soon" it said and let out a loud breath and groans.

"The opening portal in the sky, what about it and how can it be stopped? "

The demon groaned and even tried more to resist, although it was useless.

"It is called the Demon eye, created by South Demon...... Errr... When fully matured, it opens every three months and drop demons created by the South Demon"

"So we kill South Demon and it's gone? "

"Yes, but she now seeks refuge with the rest, they're now together, you can't stop them"

"Lord Supreme, he is reaching his limit, he might die if any other questions is asked" a man dressed in black said.

"One more, who is the spy among the hunters?"

Joy gritted her teeth and stared at the Demon who also stared back at her, Lord Supreme noticed the starring and walked closer to the demon.

"Who? " he asked and moved towards the demon's ear "It's her isn't it, don't worry we will manipulate her and she'll be your doom" Lord Supreme said and snapped the neck of the demon.

"We are done here"

Chapter 18
Dan walked into Lord Supreme's office and met his standing facing the window that displayed the entire landscape before him.

"Maze is leaving" Dan said loudly and stretched his hands forward

Lord Supreme slowly turned around and placed his hands on the chair and sighed before speaking.

"It is the best thing for our village and honestly I hope the teams could go with him" Lord Supreme said and sighed.

"You can't be serious"

"I am Dan, I am, take a closer look at the sky, daily it changes, something is coming out from there, the wind suddenly moves in irregular pattern when it hits that part, I don't believe it but I think it's a portal, hoards of demon portal" Lord Supreme said and turned around and pointed to a certain part to Dan.

"We can't hold this threat for long, sooner it's an inevitable attack, and I'm sure it will come constantly, if we need hope, we have to let these children leave this village for good and hopefully they return when stronger" Lord Supreme said and continued "Why are you here?"

"You already talked about it, the demon portal, and from the tab I kept on Demon Joy, all Leading demons have form an alliance against us" Dan said and rested his hands on the table.

"We have to evacuate the villagers" Dan said.

"It's impossible, we can't..... "

A loud boom suddenly came from somewhere around the viallge, cutting short Lord Supreme's word.

"Come on" Dan said and disappeared.

A huge stone hurled into the air and landed furiously in the viallge crashing multiple houses, before the chaos of the lrevious stone settled, another came rolling in the air.

Dan appeared in the air before the stone and smashed it into piece with a single blow, he appeared before the next one and smashed it into pieces again, letting out thick dust in the air.

Lord Supreme appeared before Dan and clapped his hands together, letting out a sonic boom that shook the entire village, his eyes suddenly went white.

"It's a higher demon, right outside" Lord Supreme said and channeled his energy towards his legs, propelling him forward in the air.

Lord Supreme came to a running landing in the woods and looked up into the air. The ground suddenly came open beneath him, like he was expecting it, Lord Supreme elevated into the air. Suddenly from behind a rock body demon burst out from the ground and threw a punch at Lord Supreme.

With swift reflex, Lord Supreme turned around and smacked the demon on the neck with his right leg, sending it furiously and bouncing repeatedly on the ground, till it finally crashed against a tree.

The demon stood up swiftly like nothing had happened and stretched out its hands, the rocks on the ground all raised into the air and transformed into spikes. The demon screamed and shot the spikes at Lord Supreme. About twenty inches away, the spikes suddenly turned into dust and next was Lord Supreme standing before the demon.

"I need you alive" Lord Supreme said and smacked the demon on the neck instantly sending it unconscious.

Maze swayed his sword around, in the midst kf three demons, he took his defense stance, Jemima asleep before him, he gritted his teeth seeing the disadvantage he was at.

"Let go off the sword and we promise not to hurt you" A demon said sarcastically.

"Who do you think trained me, even when I'm dead, this sword goes down with me" Maze said and slashed the sword in the air.

A hard kick suddenly landed on the neck of a demon from the back, forcing his knees to go down, a hand grabbed it by the neck and slammed it to the ground.

Seeing his opportunity, Maze dashed at a distracted demon.

"Water Syncth, heaven slash" he said and slashed the demon with his sword, dividing it into two equal halves.

The last demon suddenly tore up from within, it's guts flying all over the air.

"Like we would let you journey alone" Michell said and appeared before Maze.

"He's a joker" Amen replied and alleared in thine air and landed softly

"Guys" Maze said calmly "New powers I see"

"I was hoping to her it as a secret weapon" Michell replied.

"Thanks" Maze said "But I don't need your help, return to Pearl"

"Then you'll have to kill us to journey alone" Amen replied and smiled.

Chapter 17
"We have to keep this as low as possible" Lord Supreme said while he placed the white blanket over Joy's lifeless body and stood up.

"Are you okay? " Lord Supreme asked noticing Dan's moody countenance.

"I'm not sure, I mean right under our nose and worst they have samples of the compound already, we are fighting a war we've lost already" Dan said.

Lord Supreme sighed and walked closer to Dan and placed his hands on his shoulders.

"Remember when we were little and you would always defend me, giving that you are much more powerful and stronger than I am" Lord Supreme said, smiled and continued "I might be older than you, but you're the reason I decided to become stronger and even at that I couldn't defeat you at the Supreme game, seeing my fighting spirit, you purposely gave up, the truth is, I still look up to you, and this is not the time to give up" Lord Supreme said and walked pass Dan towards the exit

"Emmy" Dan said and lowered his head "Thank you"

"More like it brother, let's stick to the plan and get the demon of a thousand father" Lord Supreme said and walked out.

Amen pulled Maze up by the shoulder and while Michell held him on the other hand and carefully moved him around.

"You're channelling more power energy into your legs and they're healing pretty well" Michell said.

"Unfortunately, Jemima sleep cycle begins tomorrow and ends two days after, and since our tag match is till tomorrow, I have to heal as soon as possible or you guys will be one man down" Maze said and strained as he tried moving his legs.

"Don't stress it, there is nothing we can't handle with a one man down" Amen replied as they helped Maze move around, before finally settling down under a huge tree to take shelter.

"The boy from yesterday, happens to be the son of an elder from the neighboring village and is the vice head of their hunting council" Amen said and heaved.

"And where is someone of such high rank competing?" Michell asked curiously.

"Probably to humiliate our fighters, and we happen to go up against him tomorrow, I saw the draw" Amen said.

"Then I need to heal faster, I'm almost there, matter of hours" Maze replied.

From the distance unfamiliar figures began to approach them and as they got closer it happened to be who they were discussing about.

"Talk of the devil" Amen said and pretended not to see them.

"So this is where you all come camping, your village has such beautiful landscape beffitibg losers" the boy said and instantly his members went into hilarious laughter.

Amen grinned looking down.

"Don't forget to come with your demon Tomorrow" he said.

A strange force suddenly hit the boy and threw him off, with skills he did a flip and staggered a little before finally maintaining his balance.

"One more word and I'll make sure you're bedridden" Maze said, elevating in the air, a strong aura flowing around him, his sword glittering.

"We should have warned him not to talk about Jem" Michell muttered and let out a smile at the corner of her lips.

The boy smiled and suddenly his arms turned into flames.

"The more the wind, the more power I can store up" He said and dashed forward at Maze.

Throwing a Punch, Maze intercepted the punch, holding firm to the fist, he slowly brought it down and effortlessly snapped the wrist, dislocating the joint off completely.

"Do you understand the punishment that comes with your reckless attitude?" Lord Supreme said calmly, leading the seven man panel that was set up.

"They have nothing to do with it, it was I who lost control and I should take responsibility" Maze said calmly.

"It's a responsibility your team bears, all members get punished for the doings of a member" Dan replied coldly.

Michell sighed, her hands behind her back.

"Your attitude threatens the peace we try to establish, breaking the arm of a visitor and beating him into half coma, it's irresponsible " a woman said and sighed.

"I thought he claimed to the strongest from where he comes and at that he started the fight first, he only got what he deserved" Amen replied.

"Enough, you're hereby disqualified from the competition and a two year ban has been placed on you all, you're hereby renounced as demon hunters" an elderly man said

Shock went through their body, shocked at the harsh judgement.

"Dad, old man Dan" Amen called out before breaking down in tears.

Maze locked his luggage and took his time to clear the entire building.

"I heard you're leaving Pearl Village" Amen said standing at the entrance.

"It's visible no one cares about I and my sister here, I'd just leave and move on to somewhere very far from here" Maze replied and helped Jemima up.

"Are you serious? " Michell asked walking in, in tears.

"It's best for us" Maze said and walked passed them holding firm to Jemima.

"I assume Lord Supreme knows about this also, cause there is no way you get to know without me telling you" Maze said and walked off.

Chapter 16

Amen grabbed the wheelchair handle and positioned it well, while Jemima and Michell gently helped Maze sit down.

"Alright, everyone is arriving" Amen said and pushed the wheelchair roughly forward, ignoring the loud screams Maze made and even more pushed it forward with more energy.

Lord Supreme mounted the highest peak of the fight arena, which followed by loud cheers, from every single villagers and outsiders who attended the tournament.

From the far right of the podium were the highest ranking demon slayers from the four villages that surrounded Pearl Village.

"Welcome everyone and most especially our neighbors who seemed it fit to consider our tournament worthy of attendance, this shows the bond we crave for has grown so strong" Lord Supreme said and paused, he let the loud cheer die down and continued "In earnest let the tournament begin" he shouted.

All participants began to troop in into the arena, in group of threes, some looking fragile and weak, others huge and brutal, some brewing with confidence, others with fear.

"And so it begins" Amen sighed and pushed Maze into the arena alongside the others.

"I wish I was strong enough to do this" Maze said and sighed.

"We know how good you are, so don't stretch it" Michell said and spanked him on the head.

"Attention! " Dan shouted from the podium and immediately silence fell on everyone.

"We have twenty four teams in total and I hope all of you get eliminated in this first round, so you all come back next year if you're not worth it" Dan said coldly.

"What's it with that old man? " Amen muttered.

"Ever since the fight with South Demon, he has been like that no doubt" Michell replied.

"The first round of the tournament, is a yes or no question, a question will be asked and if you decide your answer, troop to the the respective places" Dan said

From the entrance to the arena, a huge board was wheeled in by four men and positioned in front of the contestants, a huge writing of Yes on the right part and No on the left part.

"Anyone who turns smoke is disqualified" Dan said and cleared his throat.

"This is weird, a question, all we ever did was fight and train for six months" Amen said.

"Maybe it's from our preliminary days, I'm off" Maze said and wheeled himself out of the arena.

"There are four cardinal demons, Yes or No, kindly move to your respective answers" Dan said.

Murmurs followed next from everyone not sure how such question could be asked, simple but tricky.

"That question is weird, we know there are four cardinal demons, South Demon and Mother of North, King of West and Lord of the East, such simple question cannot be asked without consequences,lets go for No, it's too simple to take Yes" Michell said and sighed.

Along with few others, Amen and his team trooped to the No section while majority trooped towards the Yes.

Once everyone had taken their sides, a metal door descended out from the ground, steadily going up, from the half of the arena.

"Something is wrong" Amen said and turned around facing the board and noticed white substances popping out "Anyone who turns smoke is disqualified" He muttered.

"Run!! " he shouted and dashed forward.

"What are you up to?" Michell asked confused.

Amen halted and ran back

"The question is not about yes or no, just run, climb over the iron gate" he said and immediately they all went for the run including Jemima.

Some few other members who overheard Amen also followed suit, running as fast as their legs could carry them.

"Amen army" Amen shouted and cloned himself into three right before him.

The first clone locked his palms together and swiftly Amen leaped on the palms and was thrusted forward towards the other clone that appeared above.

Jemima held Michell by the right hand and with enough force swing her into the air, towards the iron gate that still steadily went up and also leaped into the air while Amen ran up on his clones to cross over.

Fall hard on their backs on the other side alongside few others, a white dust suddenly went up in the air from the other side.

"You have quite a smart child" the elder seated next to Lord Supreme said and smiled and continued "My son also made it, but I sense a demon among them, although unusual type" The man said.

"Kareem's daughter" Lord Supreme replied.

"If you turned smoke, you're disqualified, leaving just six teams proceeding to the next round, which holds tomorrow. Thank you all for your attendance" Dan said and bowed his head which followed by loud cheers.

"You couldn't lend a hand" Michell said as she approached Amen.

"Impossible not to, I was going to reach for the top and get you up also" Amen said and scoffed.

"I see you're as smart as they say" a boy almost same height as Amen said, accompanied with his team.

"Huh, that's odd" Amen replied.

"I'll assume since you're the Supreme's son you happen to know about the tournament that's why you were quick to respond, cheating won't help" the boy said coldly

"And who are you again? " Amen asked angrily

"Watch your back, I bite " the boy said and walked off with his team.

"That's cold" Michell said, come-on Maze awaits us.

Dan leaped from on tree too to another, moving as quite as possible, the person he traced moving swiftly also from tree top to another, till it finally landed to the ground, where two other people were awaiting it.

"No one suspects I took her form" the person said and chuckled.

"You've done a good job, Mother of the North is pleased with you, did you get the compound? " the huge figure asked.

"Yes, they finally found a way to suppress demon powers, but just adding a higher demon blood changes the entire compound granting super abilities" the figure said and chuckled.

"Impossible" Dan said and disappeared.

The door to Joy's home suddenly crashed down, and Dan dashed in, he hurried his way to her room and found Joy's body rotten and decayed to skeleton

"We've been fooled, eight months and counting" he said and dropped weakly to the ground. "We're doomed"

Chapter 15

Night before the Exam

The door that led to the office of Lord Supreme came open and a young looking man dressed in purple overall walked in and took a bow.

"Clint" Dan said and stepped aside allowing the boy move closer.

"It's unusual you're here, being Chief for Demon Sensing" Lord Supreme said and smiled.

"It's a rather urgent matter" he said and continued

"I know who the spy among us is, here" the boy said and brought out a scroll from his inner pocket and spread it out.

"Two months ago when you told all sectors to look into their departments, I began noticing some odd things, every evening by 5PM the sensing around the viallge becomes dense but not completely down" he said pointing to his jotted observations on the scroll.

"Which means there is more than one spy, two actually, Maverick from my department and..... "

The door suddenly came open with force and Joy dashed in.

"Lord Supreme your attention is needed, Clare suddenly slumped and is unconscious" Joy said panting.

"It's just a fever" Lord Supreme said and he moved his hands around his daughter's body and sighed relief and turned to look at his wife.

"Joy insisted we got you here, she came visiting while touring the village" his wife said and smiled.

"Dan let's get back to Clint, Joy thanks for your concern, I'm glad I have someone like you" Lord Supreme said, and instantly both he and Dan disappeared.

"Impossible" both Dan and Lord Supreme chorused seeing Clint's lifeless body on the floor, his upper body disjointed from his lower body with his guts spilling out.

"There's a demon among us, even close to me and yet we don't know who it is, our only lead is dead" Lord Supreme said brewing with anger.

"What about Maverick?" Dan asked and they both disappeared again.

On getting to the Demon Sensing department, they met a crowd gathered around something with low murmurs following, getting closer they saw Maverick laid also in his own pool of blood, same way Clint was killed.

Chapter 14

Lord Supreme opened the scroll Dan handed over to him and took a lasting look at Dan and spoke.

"You look exhausted Dan" Lord Supreme said and looked at the content on the scroll.

"Do you place burden on yourself not being able to lay a single hit on South Demon when she invaded? " Lord Supreme asked.

Dan grinned lowly, an aura of rejection emitting out from his body, he looked out to the sky through window behind Lord Supreme and sighed.

"It's nothing" Dan replied.

"Huhn, neighboring villages wants their junior students to join our exams tomorrow" Lord Supreme said and folded the scroll.

"It came rather late" Dan replied.

"No, I had lot on my plate I forgot to share more info sooner, they had requested from the start and this is a reminder letter" Lord Supreme replied and stretched his body.

"How are your students, prepared? " Lord Supreme asked.

"Only tomorrow would tell, I hope there are much more stronger students from other villages" Dan said coldly.

"ah ah, the younger generations are usually much more evolved" Lord Supreme said and stood up "I'll go see how things are going, there after we would go to the village border to receive our visitors" Lord Supreme asked.

"More like going to inspect those coming in yourself" Dan replied.

Lord Supreme let out a wide grin and chuckled.

"You never fail to miss tiny details" he said and walked out waving his hands at Dan.

Amen,Maze, Jemima and Michell all sat at the highest building in the village, where Joy always took her position OT guard the village from intruding demons.

"What's tomorrow going to be like? " Michell asked feeling nervous as they all stared at the bright clouds that covered the sunlight.

"Not much to be expected, tomorrow we would be fighting against our friends and others from neighboring villages" Amen replied and sighed.

"Other villages? " Michell asked.

"Yeah, and we don't know what to be expected" Amen replied.

"I see you four are having a nice time" Joy said behind them.

Turning around, Joy grinned wickedly and pushed Jemima with her leg, making her fall from the top of the building.

Shock went through the body of the children, without thinking, Maze dived after Jemima, barely catching up to her as she fell freely.

Amen and Michell watched closely with their hearts in the mouth. Before Jemima could touch ground, Maze grabbrdnher by the arm, curled his body around her and quickly changed position, tilting Jemima above himself and fell hard to the ground.

"Fool, he should have just let her fall, she's a demon and that mere fall won't kill her" Joy said and shook her head.

"What do you think you just did? " Amen asked angrily.

Michell placed her hand on Amen's shoulder and spoke.

"We have to go help him" She said and stared at Joy

"Seems you won't be recovering anytime soon, your legs are broken and with enough energy distribution you should recover in three days time" the village magic doctor said as he placed his hands on Maze legs.

Maze looked at his team members and tears dropped from his eyes.

"Now we are one man down, what was Joy thinking?" Dan asked calmly and grinned.

Jemima walked up and stood before Dan and stared deep at him.

"I think she wants to stand in for Maze" Amen said and smiled.

"It's not like it will be declined a member of the Platoon Demon hunter attacked a Beginner, it's a win win for us" Michell said and took a step closer to Dan

"She's in, after this, Joy will be summoned " Dan said and walked out.
