Shalom152: Good morning all. I sent my documents to ConsularAbuja@gmail.com since yesterday and the only response I got was "thank you for your inquiry...." Up ontill now nothing else. Please should I resend or wait? I got a date for next year already but it comes after my resumption date which is bad...please what should I do I am confused I am in same situation I got a response from them that I'd have to use the emergency request on my cgi portal. And from what I have read EA is best Done on cgi portal 60days to start date of one's program. If donee before the it won't be honoured. I guess we can't do anything except you want to transfer to do your interview. And when I was reading through this thread I saw people who did |

Has anyone actually gotten visa recently after being interviewed by the Asian Dude? People are really complaining recently about him. I guess he only gives preference to those who have travelled out to major developed countries before. VivaceET: I had my interview at Abuja Embassy yesterday (18th Nov. 2018)
COA: $36K+ GRE:309 Duolingo:135 SOA: #23M First Interview School: Uni South Florida Course: Business Analytics and Information System Met the Asian Dude
VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before? me: No VO: Who is sponsoring your Trip me: My Father VO: What does your Father do? Me: He is an Architect and runs a real estate company VO: Do you have a statement of account? Me: shows SOA.. with the VO, just looking VO: What do you do? ME: I currently work as a product/Data Analyst at XYZ VO: sorry, bla bla
Stay confident and pray you don't meet the Dude. All the best to those having their interviews. Also, if you can help with next steps, that will be very great. Thanks |

I think all you need to do will be to update your profile on your cgi portal. Or click start new application. Just check by the left side after you log in. caelish: Hey everyone it's my first time posting. I have a bit of a challenge and would please like some clarification from anyone that can help. I exhausted my EA options and so I do not have the EA Tab displaying on my CGI profile anymore. I guess I have to cancel the previous appointment (Jan 2022) since it's too late for me. I have paid another MRV Fee, and I would like to proceed without making any further mistakes. Could anyone kindly guide me on how to replace the old MRV receipt number and replace it with a new appointment so I can apply for EA and the surge dates? I am a first time applicant and have not attended the interview before.
Thank you for your response. |

Please did you get a sperate I20 for your wife or you used the same i20 you had yourself which already included spouse? hardeyswaggz: hello good people,
I have scheduled a VISA appointment where I have included my wife's details (sevis, receipt no, name etc) under the section "add name" of family/child travelling with you, as she is my dependent(f-2).
I discovered her name appeared under my MRV FEE PAYMENT after i saw my appointment comfirmation .
Does this mean she has also booked appointment or i have to make a new application for her?
please note that i already tried making another application and they are prompting that her details already exist in the data base somewhere and she should submit passport if i want it changed. |

Your file number should start with S.. When you log into your GCkey account. Scroll down to where you see your biometric and UCI number. File number should be there. Dorisdili: Hi guys,
I am filling out the gcms application right now and I am not sure what the file number is. Please where can I find the "file number" ? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by dfutbolar: 8:51pm On Aug 25, 2021 |
Since you used an agent, you need him to now release to you access to your account. That's were your file number and application number is which you will need to use to request for your gcms note. However if you wish to continue using the agent, then ask him to request your notes for you. But its not bad to see all kind of documents he submitted for you just so you know by yourself Mojiwealth: I don’t know what or how to go about my next step an agent did my first application and I was refused pls I need someone to help me out on ds I will like to reapply |

Calm down first. Take a chill pill, order for the gcms notes and by next month when it comes you can address it fully. But before then I believe you can start working on the generic response you got. Like looking for ties, such as assets in your name like land and houses. As regards family ties, maybe you can talk about how you'll still come back to your aged parents? All these are guesses until gcms comes out sha.. I'm in same boat as you and I can tell you that you are not alone. We will laugh last. Mojiwealth: How do I go about all ds ready to really am single can you pls be of help to see me through this process
Can anyone assist me in ds thread pls have just been refused |

So sorry about the refusal. I was already rooting for you that you will have known how Cambrian is before I join you when I reapply. Very sad but as you said relieving. Sometimes I just also feel that if I applied to a school in the UK since as I did to Canada I for Don get visa since. But the goal of our migration via study route is actually PR in the long run. Don't give up just yet. We both going to Cambrian my own course can be differed to Jan or Sept 2022. EmeeNaka: My application is Refused. Based on Family tie in Canada and home country, Purpose of Visit blah blah blah. I doubt I will Reapply. I don't know if I will like to go through this kind of waiting again, I will still give it a thought anyway. I don't know why but I feel relieved. Thank you all for your prayers and support. I tired sending you an email. Kindly accept it so I can mail you directly. I would like to ask about the GIC. I've followed a link on the thread and even the bank website but won't mind getting more details from you from experience. Thanks Enjay316: thank you so much big bro.it is the issue of lump sum that is making me to name him as my sponsor cos the VO may want to know my Domiciliary account history if I purchased a GIC using funds from there and that is where the lump sum comes in. that's y I want to name him as a co sponsor or supporting sponsor.as for the 9.5m .I have a wife and son that I am leaving behind and my wife's account is so poor ,I cant even submit it.though I am planning to submit an employment letter for her and probably work ID but since I am not submitting her statement of account, it's better I have a healthy balance. what do u think bro? |

Please do well to share the opinion when the notes come in. Notes taking forever now cos the one I requested for in July is due and when I mailed them I was informed IRCC has not released my file to them. I'm having a similar case to yours hence I ask you keep us updated. Will be much appreciated. So I know if i just rather be self sponsored than have a sponsor and not having all birth certificates and pictures and all to prove RollyA: Hi, thanks for checking. Not yet. A consultant has reviewed my application from the surface, says I may reapply but till my notes come before he will be certain I won’t need JR. Said I didn’t do much with proving relationship between my uncle and I, no birth certificate showing he’s my dads brother, among other little things in his own opinion. A lawyer is currently reviewing also and am waiting for his comments.
thanks for checking in, I came to reply cos I got your mail |

I got a refusal as well. Luckily the GCMS notes I ordered will arrive tomorrow and I'll be able to see the VO concern which will help me see how I can refire say for January intake. Mind you I've paid 8k+ fees Have a valid US visa. Travel experience Austria, France, Turkey, Cyprus,Ghana,USA. Have living expenses transfered to me by sponsor with a gift deed to back up. Have savings of mine in salary Acct of 3m Sponsor also has quite huge amount. But with gcms notes coming in tomorrow I'd know what to do. Maybe I'll open a GIC this time, or even go fund my US Acct with the living expenses and apply from US, all thoughts crossing my mind but I'll be calm till tomorrow to see my notes and see what can be done. First time I will ever be denied a visa. I'll be back to share a good news in future. Perseverer: Information reaching me now is that CIC is playing hardball with many files.
In other words, they are refusing a lot of people.
I think this has to do with meeting the set target.
That's quite sad.
Please refire and pray to God to stand for you.

Congrats.. your experience was an easy one. No hassle at all. Please what kind of food stuff did you go with and was there any of the food stuff that was not allowed? And your advice about putting foodstuff in one bag especially Ghana must go makes sense. Backcheck: Well
Well well well! As promised here is my landing gist.
Set out from home at about 2pm and got to the airport by past 3. We entered into the terminal and they were saying only I and another 1 person can enter. “”They need you to drop something’. Once we entered the airport, we were directed to customs immediately where they wanted to search my bags and was asking whats inside, I just said books and clothes, squeezed 1k and they said bye bye. (Couldn’t allow them start scattering). Once I was done, I was directly to the agricultural part, to declare what I have and they open your bags, they give you a card and you pay 2k ( I didn’t declare shit, told them theres no food in it, you can just slip away from here) after that you’re done with that.
Then I went straight to my airline, klm started checking in by 4pm, got there early so I was like number 3 on the line. While my bag was being weighed, excess luggage (33kg and 27kg) hand luggage was 9kg and 7kg, the guy just told us to go and reduce or pay 203 USD, my sister the expert just told me not to worry, and we stood one side, before 10mins some guys approached in uniform, the baggage guys, and started doing all the help and asking how much we want to pay, we drag drag drag, and agreed 30k. They then helped me repack the boxes, to a max of 27kg each and my hand luggage was 12kg and 8kg. While all this baggage wahala was on going, i went to submit documents and passport where the guy asked for just Enrollment letter, fee receipt, admission letter and negative covid result. He took it and asked another guy and gave me back, scanned my passport and that was all. No sending to someone via whatsapp or all that.
After my bags were done, i just took them to the counter where they were tagged and gave me my boarding pass and that was it with bags. In the rush and bag repacking, I didn’t lock/wrap my ghana must go before sending in. Chai I wan die! But thank God it was fully intact.
Proceeded to the departure gate, bided family good bye and I entered.
First encounter is a single immigration officer where you pass your passport and pass, (na where roger start be this) cus they will ask and its better to give. 500 each for anyone way hail me.
Then the other immigration where you would scan your passport, fingerprints, take pictures, check your visa, and roger. If you dont have anything to give, sha make sure you check that they stamp your passport with exit stamp.
You then go to body scan, take off your belts shoes, laptop and all that, no problems here.
Then to customs again (final place) : This place they would ask how much you are carrying and declaring, if you have over 10k USD dont just bother declaring it, nothing go happen, if you declare be like say charges dey oo. This is in Nigeria ooo. When you get to CA please and please, declare it.
After this I proceeded to the boarding gate! and bye bye to Nigeria!!
Landed in Amsterdam, Netherlands at about 5:30 WAT, and proceeded to arrival hall, where there was a screen displaying all flights and gate to be at, found my gate and kept walking there, there are signs everywhere, so no need to even ask anyone anything, this airport is damn large! The walk no be small. This is where I waited till my flight time, easy peasy. Made a friend so had him watch over my bags while I went to freshen up a bit and vice varsa. I sha got something light to each, cus 6 hours wait no be small, this is where the conversation syndrome got me, got a sandwich, candy and water for 12euros thats 6k+ (Pic 1) I just dey shake head. Ate, and waited for time to board. This was it for Netherlands.
Flight to Calgary
What a long flight, leaving Netherlands by 12:30pm and flying 8+ hours only to get to Calgary 1:30pm, omo! The time difference. This flight time didn’t make it interesting as I couldn’t open window to enjoy the view, hot sun and reflection. On this flight food was a bit fair.
When we got to calgary, proceeded into the airport, first point of contact is to self checkin, this is where you declare your stuffs, food, excess cash, sickness, this and that, and how long you will spend in Canada, I enter 730 days, as per 2years, then the machine gives you a ticket. I then proceeded to CBSA, the guy asked to pass my ticket and passport, which I did, asked what brings me to canada, asked what course. Asked how much I had with me, since I already declared above 10k CAD. He then asked for my arrive Can, Study Authorizations letter (This is what we’ve been calling LOi) and covid test. He asked if i have any documents to support my studies i then passed my Admission letter, enrollment letter, tuition receipt, statement of Account, asin I just dey give am. He asked what food stuffs I brought, and I passed a printed copy of food stuffs I brought, I typed it already. He had to smile and said ‘I like you, you’re very much prepared’ I said thanks. I honestly almost said, thank God for Nairaland. He gave me some Covid forms and returned my passport. I then proceeded to pick up my bags. After picking up, then I was directed to where they issue study permit gaan gaan. The same documents asked for by the CBSA officer is what you give them here, and they put in a file, then tell you to go and sit down. They call your name when its your turn. After about 20mins I was called, you go there with your luggage, based on your declaration, the food stuffs are checked, just make sure to pack food in one luggage so they dont unpack all your luggage. After this, the officer him self filled a form for me, for the amount declared and gave me a copy. When I was done, he told me to meet his colleague, that one has already printed my permit, and stapled to my passport so when I got there, she just opened and read the conditions for me. No stress at all!!
Ps: omo this CBSA female officers must have been handpicked, cus choi!! them no lack at all lmao.
I was then directed to where covid testing is done. Did my test, and headed out to the parking bay to wait for my hotel shuttle.
Ps: To avoid delay prebook your covid test, when you book online you get a booking Code, with this code, you will already skip alot of waiting time.
I thank God for journey mercies!! Make I no lie, Canada na better place! Nice people everywhere, from security to driver to passerby, to hotel boys ands staffs. |

Than economic class. ericksen: Wash! So I here is my own wahala. I have 3 bags and my laptop bag. If this happens, is it then advisable to apply for ones spouse from Nigeria? Anon123: Since you are married why not do this .

Upfront medical : April 28, 2021 ( we said let's do medical to see if it will speed things up, lol jokes) Medical passed: June 14, 2021 (just see how long it took them to update medical!) Eligibility started: July 23, 2021 PPR and correspondence letter: this morning July 27th @ 4:34am!
What a wait! Basically this application took 5 months and 16 days. I remember I considered withdrawing the application at some point, but you all encouraged me to hold on! During this waiting period, 3 gcms notes were ordered and the fourth one has been ordered as well. All the gcms notes received didn't have much info as eligibility was blank. Each time I got the gcms notes, I was always disappointed that eligibility was blank. Now that I think of it, I guess it's not a bad thing...
I just want to use this medium to thank everyone for their support through out this journey! This is a wonderful platform and we all draw strength and hope from one another! One thing that helped me during the long wait was seeing other people's approval postings. I was always encouraged by those success stories. I remember telling myself that my testimony was near when DD097 and demure got approved as we all applied around the same time and faced this delay..
In short, this is a wonderful platform and I hope more people get to know about the wonderful support we have here! Thanks to all the gurus and everyone that tries to assist others with their questions! If you have any questions for me , please feel free to ask here so others can learn from it ! I'm rooting for all my co- February applicants and any one with a delayed application and of course everyone on here , that you will all get a favourable response soon in Jesus name!
Cheers to more success stories ! |

I don't think it's entirely true that you take your second dose where you had your first. As long as it's the second dose and you are with your card, you can have the second dose anywhere its being administered. In fact some doses can be mixed. You take astrazeneca first dose and another type second dose but we only have astrazeneca in Nigeria. Lekiboboe: Yes I understand
I won't be able to meet up with the 2nd dose, reasons why I decided not to take the vaccine in Nigeria (the 6weeks interval before taking the 2nd dose and the 14 days wait before travelling) & it is said that your 1st & 2nd dose must be taken at same location.
